NYCM Transportation Options
Does anyone with experience running the NYCM? I am debating between the midtown Manhattan bus and the SI ferry to the start. The bus is only two subway stops away from my apartment, but I'm worried that it might be awhile without a bathroom. The SI ferry is farther away from me but I know that there are bathrooms in the…

Appropriate time to run first marathon?
How long do you think someone should have been running before attempting their first marathon? I'm very new to running (started with C25k in May) and was contemplating registering for a marathon on my 29th birthday (June 21). This would mean I've been running slightly longer than a year at that point. If it is relevant:…

15 weeks, 3 days
There are 15 weeks, 3 days left until New Year's Day. What do you hope to accomplish by the New Year? I think that I might not meet my New Year's Resolution from last year, but I will get pretty close :-)

Hip pain?
I finished the couch to 5k without problems and was doing reasonably well at increasing my mileage. After my run last Thursday (5.2 miles in about 55ish min) my hip started killing me. I've since backed off the mileage. Are there any stretches that could be beneficial? I really want to get back to my distance runs...

Skipping a rest day?
I did W3D3 yesterday and I'm feeling up for W4D1 today. Normally I run every other day so I shouldn't do it until tomorrow, but I won't have time in my schedule tomorrow (or Saturday) to get in a run. I don't want to take 3 days off in a row because it'll hurt my mojo. Should I just attempt W4D1 today?

Why to approach supplements with caution
The New York Times published an article a few days ago about a soldier who died after taking Jack3d. The article goes on to discuss how the supplement industry is largely unregulated and it is only after tragedies like these that anything gets done. An interesting but long read.…

Exercise after a fall?
Hey guys, on Monday night I fell down a flight of stairs at a subway station in NYC. Since then I've had a lot of pain in my right hip and shoulder (in addition to the bruised knees, but those really aren't a big deal). Walking hurts so I've only been doing it when necessary and very slowly - about 2 or 3 miles a day at a…

Looking for recently married friends!
I made a lot of progress towards my weight loss before getting married (down to 142) but have since gained way too much (almost 25 lbs) in the honeymoon phase! Now that I've been married over a year I realize that it is time for me to get serious about losing this weight. I'd like friends who are in a similar situation.

First Tall Boots - yay or nay?
I've never been able to wear tall boots from a store, but since they are "trendy" I got a pair from zappos. What do you think? Normally I'm more of a jeans and tshirt type of girl but I would like to be able to wear skirts in the cold NYC winter. Should I return or keep? I'm not 100% sure I have the confidence to wear…
