Body Gem Metabolism Testing
Has anyone here ever been tested with the Body Gem Metabolism test? Apparently it's a test to determine your PERSONAL resting metabolism rate, so you don't have to rely on generalized stats. Looking for some insight from anyone who has had any experience with this test. Thanks.

bucking the lowfat, eat your grains recommended diet?
I have done Weight Watchers and had lost 65 lbs (only to regain most of it due to health issues & injury.) I prescribed to the method that you can pump your body full of lowfat, processed, artificial sweeteners, wheat, gmo's, and other toxins to lose weight. (Which obviously I did.) I am starting again ... ditching wheat,…

Genealogy Research
I am interested in knowing more about my ancestor (particularly my dad's fam since he left when I was 6 or 7) and I wondering if anyone has any hints for my searching. I know they say ask other relatives, but the only one I can possibly ask is my mom ... and she has never been forthcoming with info ...so scratch that idea.…

I need help starting with exerrcise
I need to focus more on exercise than food/calories as I can keep lower food intake (although I was an EPIC FAIL today) and remain lazy. Can anyone give me some positive feedback as to what I should do to START an exercise routine? One for a beginner for core AND fat burning yet something to build on. I am NOT looking for…

Artificial sweeteners
I have lost 60 lbs with low fat artificial sugar foods and started to experience horrendous neck/shoulder pain. I have since spent $$$$ on primary doc, chiropracotr, neurologist, and finally breast reduction surgery to alieviate neck/shoulder pain and arm numbness. NO relief. Finally I did some research to find fake sugars…

Fitbit 2nd attempt
OK so I got the same email as everyone else on MFP regarding fitness apps. I am still toying with purchasing a Fitbit (the one that tracks sleep cycles as well.). Some have said don't waste the $ and others say they're so glad they invested in it. I would love to hear some more opinion above and beyond yea or nah.…

Fitbit One syncing with smart phone (Droid)
I am just wondering if anyone's Fitbit One is syncing with their Droid now? I opened the app on my phone and all of a sudden it adjusted my steps to current. Didn't know if this was a fluke or if they finally got the app to sync with Fitbit One.

Counting calories vs. NOT counting calories
I would like to hear from people who DON'T count calories and have had significant weight loss. What is your strategy and where did you start? I am for being mindful of the quality foods (eating unprocessed foods) and staying well hydrated. I find when I count calories that I hoard calories for "just in case" that I fall…

What are your strategies for balancing nutrition/calories?
I am starting to take notice of more than just the number of calories in my diary. I am consistently over in fiber due to Fiber One. I think I’m OK with that since doc said I need to amp my fiber for health reasons. As I take a look at today’s snapshot I see I am quite a bit over in the Carbs department. Looking at today I…

non cyber friends
So I have come the point in my life where I have realized I have been successful at becoming an island to myself. I have a great supportive husband, but that's not enough. (If something happened to him I would be so all alone.) I need to create some new friendships with gal pals. I'm outgoing/friendly, but I don't even…

Former WW "pointplus" person looking for help
I used to belong to WW and followed the pointsplus program and did very well with weight loss. I couldn't afford the $43/month dues anymore and my daughter told me of this site. I have tried (and failed miserably) to cross over to calorie counting. Is there anyone who has been able to come up with a similar strategy of WW…

looking for fitness gadget recommendations
So I have been considering purchasing a Fitbit to track my fitness activities (and I like to sleep tracker feature too) but I don't want to buy yet another fad item on impulse. I want to know what others are using and why they made the choice for the gadget they use. So please, if you read this post a reply because I truly…

Weight Watchers to calorie counting
Hi, I am wondering if there are others on MFP who have transitioned from Weight Watchers (counting points) to counting calories. I have lost the bulk of my weight with WW, but I don't see that as a realistic way to live the rest of my life. I had the luxury in the past of being able to pay for the program, but I find…

NEWBIE TO MFP
Hi, I have been tracking my meals & exercise on MFP for a couple of weeks and now I would like to build my community. I have come from the world of counting points with Weight Watchers and now I am trying to recycle my thinking to the real world of calorie counting. If you have made a similar transition and you have some…
