Fitbit 2nd attempt

OK so I got the same email as everyone else on MFP regarding fitness apps. I am still toying with purchasing a Fitbit (the one that tracks sleep cycles as well.). Some have said don't waste the $ and others say they're so glad they invested in it. I would love to hear some more opinion above and beyond yea or nah. Secondly, if I buy one does it work with MFP or do i have to sign up for yet another site? Also, will there be an additional monthly charge that isn't "advertised?". I don't want another program to be enslaved to like I was with WW. Help me to be empowered in my future weight loss and fitness goals. TY

I love my fitbit! I created an account on www.fitbit.com and it automatically syncs to MFP to show my calories burned through exercise. There is a premium subscription on the fitbit website but I didn't bother.
I love the fact that the fitbit monitors my sleep - have a much better understanding of why I'm tired sometimes - it downloads all the information from that as well. But mainly, I love the fact that it has motivated me to become more active than I have been in years. I have stayed up to get an extra walk in before bedtime just to get up to 5K, 10K or 15K steps - you become almost obsessed with tracking your steps and have the reinforcement of getting emails with the various "badges" for the steps you have taken. It also sends a weekly summary of your steps to your email so even reinforcement when you are not on the website.
3 things I cannot live without: Ipad, Ipod, and my fitbit!0 -

I LOVE my fitbit. It is a critical tool for my weight loss, and tracking my sleeping habits.
I used to think I was taking a lot of steps in a day, but it turns out that my average was only around 5-6,000 when we should be taking at least 10,000 steps a day!
Now that I have my fitbit I take it everywhere. I am obsessed with beating personal records (hehe, and those who are friends with me on the site) and I am always pushing myself to take the stairs, park a little farther away, go for an extra walk. It becomes addicting.
Plus, I have started using my fitbit to gain reward points that I can redeem for workout gear and gift certificates. You should check it out!
Anyone who wants to use their fitbit to earn points can do so here http://earnd.it/X7ANkH AND get an extra 50 points just for signing up!
I say, GO FOR IT! You won't regret it.0 -
If you do a search, you'll see lots of posts. Bear in mind that the Ultra has been replaced by the Zip and the One.0

I noticed the One and the Zip are new. I don't think they were an option when I bought mine. The One sounds pretty cool with the waterproofing, but overall I love my Ultra.
Now if only I could get the Aria!0 -
Never thought to name my fitbit. Unfortunately, I lost it yesterday and it feels like I've lost a friend. What makes things worse is there's only one shop that stocks them here (Qatar) and they're sold out.0
