Hit My Goal Weight
28 months and 80lbs. The scale read 200.0 on the nose this morning. I looked for pics and the only ones I seem to have are me sitting down at my keyboards, so here's a compare, from Sept 2011 before I started on this journey, to April 2014 where I was about 203.

Weight Fluctuations
I'm closing in on my main goal weight, and it's increasingly hard to lose that last couple pounds. I haven't lost anything for 2 weeks and have actually gone up a pound on weigh in day. I weigh daily to trend what's happening, but my official weigh in is on Friday morning. My weight seems to fluctuate over the course of…

Not "Loosing" , Frustration Setting In
I got down to just under 208lbs in mid January. Since then, I've been sitting at around 209. Some days 211, some days 208, never back under 208. I've pretty much stalled out. A month without seeing anything but water weight fluctuations is getting old. I redid my calorie calculations about 2 weeks ago and cut back 300 a…

NSV- Bloodwork Results on Low Carb
I had a doc visit today, and part of the checkup was going over blood work that I had done last week. This is the 1st lab that I've had done since I started eating low carbs in August 2013, so I was really curious what the results would be. Turns out, it was really good! My last lab work was March 2013. Since then: total…

Blood Work Results on Low Carb
I had my annual physical today- my 1st doc visit since starting low carb back in August. I was really interested in how my lab results would come back. It was good news. My last lab work was March '13. Since then, my overall cholesterol was down 18 points. HDL was up 6 (the "good" cholesterol", LDL (the bad) down 6, and…

Carb Cycling
Anyone doing this? I was reading a book a friend lent me called "The Carb Nite Solution" and it gave some very compelling information on using a very low carb (under 30 per day net) plan and then doing a full on carb fest once a week or so. The basic idea is to start, you do 9 days of 30 carbs, then the afternoon of the…

NSV for Me!
I've had this weightlifting belt for at least 10 years. When I was at my peak powerlifting condition, I had to use the 3rd hole in from the pointy end. Later, when my weight went up even more, I was on the last hole near the pointed end. When you are powerlifting, you pull the belt as tight as possible too, so I was really…

Lo Carbing
I've been spinning my wheels on EMTWL since Feb. Have seen zero weight loss, minor measurement changes. Been fluctuating between 229 and 234lbs.Never less, sometimes more depending on sodium intake. It's all water fluctuation. There was a discussion about diet on a weighlifting forum I belong to. One of the guys…

Need To Stop Deadlifts
I've been having 2 issues with my right hand and the heavier deadlifts are really hurting it. I must have some kind of arthritic thing going on between the knuckes on my index and middle fingers on my right hand. The had is throbbing when I get done my deadlift set. I can barely straighten the fingers when I'm done. The…

Need Some Help- Nothing is Happening!
I'm 12 weeks in on EMTWL and I'm still in the same weight range as when I started. I've been this weight since last November, when I was only eating 1700+ exercise cals a day. In Feb I realized I was starving myself and getting nowhere. I lost an initial 50lbs between Feb '12 to Sept '12, when I got down to my 1st goal of…

Taking a Rest Week
Tomorrow I'll start my 7th week of 5x5. I only do 2 workouts a week, A on Monday and B on Thursday. I'm doing well, I haven't missed any reps yet, and each week the increase in weight feels about the same level of difficulty as the week before- hard, but not impossible. I do kind of get psyched out on deadlifts but once…

Cholesterol Up
I just got back from a physical and my cholesterol is up quite a bit since my last appt in December, from 178 to 214. The bad stuff is higher too, by 20 points. I can only attribute it to my increased eating, trying to get my calories in each day. My fat intake is definitely up, though it's not real crappy fats- mostly…

I Think It's Starting To Work!
I started EMTWL about 2 weeks ago. My weight went up a couple lbs the 1st week, then settled at 230 for a few days. The last 3 days I've been 229 on the nose. No fluctuation like before where I was 228 one day, 231 the next. I know I shouldn't pay attention to the scale that much, but it's interesting to me to see how I…

Can't Eat Enough
I'm having a hard time hitting my target calories, which is 2700 (TDEE-20%). Yesterday after dinner I still had 1200 left! I ended up having cheese, peanut butter, a couple protein bars, and some almond milk and still ended up 500 calories short. I thought my dinner was going to be good enough to close the gap I had left…

Macro Question
Wondering if I'm doing this opposite- I'm targeting 40 protein, 30 carb, 30 fat. I'm reading people are using 40 carb and 30 protein- am I backwards on these numbers?

1 Week In
Today starts the beginning of my 2nd week. So far, so good. It's been an adjustment getting up to 2700 calories from 1700. I'm full all the time, and when I'm finally not feeling full, it's time to eat again. I'm definitely recovering better from my workouts. Lifting was almost easy yesterday even though the weights were…

Intrigued...
I started EMTWL yesterday after stumbling on some posts on the main MFP forums. Found the spreadsheet on Google docs, downloaded it, did all the measurements, etc and found my numbers. Tonight I found this sub group which I can already tell is going to be great. A little background on me. I'm 50, male, 6'1 and about…

Tracking Calories Burned from Lifting
Any ideas? the MFP app doesn't give this info. I know there are a lot of factors- your weight, the weight you are using, how many sets/reps etc. If you are lifting, even if it's light/moderate weight, you are still burning calories that need to be replaced, which is why I'm wondering.

Newb, initial success, subsequent frustration
Hi, new person here. I downloaded the Android app to help track my progress a couple months ago, but have not logged onto the web site. I a little about me: I just turned 50. Last Feb I decided I was tired of being overweight and getting out of breath going up the stairs. I'm a former competitive powerlifter, but I have…
