Food rut
Ugh. I feel like I'm in a food rut. I've been eating a rotation of the same foods for months because it's easy (and I usually don't mind so much), but I'm getting bored and adherence is starting to slack and as a result, the scale isn't moving much...if at all. My macros are set at 50c/20f/30p, but the only one I really…

Neuro-what connection??
Is this a real thing? Or is my PT putting me through repetitive failings purely for the entertainment factor?

2nd opinion on trainers nutrition advice
I guess this could go here or on the food&nutrition board... I just need to bounce a conversation I had with my trainer off a couple of people more knowledgeable than me. It's not that I doubt him, just want a second, third, fourth opinion maybe. He may know exercise, but it doesn't mean he gets the nutrition part right.…

I feel like a drunk giraffe in the gym just trying to hold it together
I've been working with a trainer 2x/w since mid Oct. He's great - we do something different every day (which I like) and I'm definitely seeing results both in my aerobic endurance and strength. He's gotten me to try things that I've never done, like a pull up (granted, I nearly climbed the wall with my feet, but I got up…

TDEE - 20% question
I know this conversation is like beating a dead horse, but I'm not sure I understand why there's a mismatch or why TDEE-20% is used so much. I used the frog TDEE calculator website that I've seen around here. 5'7" 190 34yo F Desk job, just to take activity out of the conversation. TDEE says 1957. TDEE - 20% is 1565 per day…

Share your NSV!
Non Scale Victory! Just got back from my interval training and usually MFP says "Walking Briskly, 4.5mph" Lookie what it says today! WOOT WOOT! I didn't even feel like I was bustin my tail to get there! Go Me! Go Me! (there needs to be a cabbage patchin smiley for stuff like this) Cardiovascular Minutes Calories Burned…

*sigh* Getting Frustrated.
I'm REALLY trying not to get discouraged, but I've hit a wall in this process and it's hard to not be. From the end of Dec to the beginning of April, I lost 33ish pounds (about 10 a month). I didn't work out - just journaled and tried to get into a healthier eating routine. As a "reward" to myself, I said when I hit 199,…

Importance of the "cool down?"
I just started running a few weeks ago. The program I'm on says to allow for a 10 minute warm up and a 10 minute cool down. The warm up, I can understand and I do allow for a solid 5 minutes to get things loosened up and moving (I'd go longer if I felt stiff, but after 5, I'm feeling ready). But the cool down is what I…
