5x5 question
I had been weightlifting last year and was doing well and feeling good. I had some health issues and a car accident come up and have been out of the gym for about a year. I’m ready to get back to it, so I’m planning to start the 5x5 plan to work up weight. I have done all the movements before but bent over bar bell rows…

Weightlifting and tendonitis
So I went to the dr yesterday after having tendonitis for a while. I updated him since the last time I saw him about my crps in my right knee (anyone else here have that?) and he went on and on about how well I was doing and how fit I looked and how he was glad that I could rebuild my right quad function even after it…

Any one have a protein bread recipe or suggestion?
I have been getting the natures own wheat+protein bread and I love it. It's become a staple in my daily meal planning and really helps me meet my protein minimum. But lately I've been having a hard time finding it and the only other protein bread I have seen online is the p28 protein bread, but it packs an additional 40…

Question for weightlifting women
So I have been getting into weightlifting, and I did the first stage of new rules of lifting for women. I watch blogs of women that do heavy weightlifting like Nikki Blacketter, Amanda Bucci and Heidi Somers, and it's always amazing how much weight they're lifting. I know I will eventually build strength and able to go…

Swimming for exercise
Are there any swimmers out there? I used to be a runner, but after injuring my knee (having surgery next month) I've started swimming. It's really been the only thing I can do and I enjoy it, though I look like a drunk dolphin when I swim. I've never taken swimming lessons and can't swim underwater, but seem to be getting…

Eating at a deficit with nothing to show for it.
I have been sidelined from running and most other exercises by a knee injury. I was losing weight ok before and lost about 5 of the 15 lbs I wanted to lose eating about 1650 calories a day while running. Since the injury I just couldn't seem to figure out how many calories I need to lose weight so I bought a fitbit. I love…

cardio and strength training
I do 4 days of strength and 3 days of cardio a week, so obviously some days will over lap. When they do and I have to do both in one day, I usually run and do upper body exercises, so my question is does it matter the order I do them in? Should I run first then do strength? Or the other way around? Should I space them out…

Reset or ok to just raise?
I have upped my calories to 1650 (suggested from scooby) and was just wondering if I should do a reset or just stick to what I have. I ate pretty haphazardly for most of November and December, even before then I'm sure, and for the first week of Jan tried limiting calories to 1300. Ended up being aroung 1450 average, then…

Can't seem to process the numbers!
Basically I've always felt that it's important to make sure you're eating enough no matter how quickly you want to lose or how much weight you want to lose. I'm always scared I'm eating too little, so this group was very intriguing for me. For some reason I just cannot fully understand how to get the right numbers, so I…

How to add strength?
I'm new to the idea of EMTWL, but have always felt that surely eating 1300 calories wasn't very healthy. I'm ready to give this a shot and have read alot about focusing on weight training vs. cardio and watching the inches vs. the scale. Right now I'm doing 3 days of running, and plan to continue that, and also am doing…
