Still in it... but discouraged and frustrated... need renewed motivation
I'm a 57 year old woman who's been at this journey (for the umteenth time) since January, with a 28 lb. loss to date. My current goal is to lose another 15 lbs. I was steadily losing between .5 and 1.5 lbs. per week. I'm beyond frustrated and, even more, very disappointed. It's over 4 weeks and I'm not losing... just…

Fins and snorkels??? Seeking opinions
Looking for opinions. I've shared I'm a swimming newbie, fresh off after a month of lessons to teach me breathing and proper technique, which I continue to practice. I've seen so many swimmers use fins and/or snorkels at the pool, able to swim multiple laps continuously - something I have not been able to achieve, although…

Swimming newbie... appreciate suggestions, etc.
Hi y'all. I recently rejoined MFP and through another thread, I learned about your group and look forward to learning from those with more experience. I intend to swim for exercise and want to be able to swim laps. As a child I learned the basics - floating, treading water and the like. Much older now... this past month…

Anyone shredding?
Hi. Sunday I started the Revoluntary Shred Diet. I restarted my efforts to drop the gosh-awful extra pounds I've been hanging onto and become active right after the new year. While "watching" my diet and adding regular committed activity/exercise is bringing me slow and steady losses, I researched the Shred diets a couple…

Swimming for Exercise - Anyone doing it?
I don't enjoy traditional exercise classes, etc. and, due to back and knee issues, find them difficult to tolerate. However, I have found aquatic classes and swimming enjoyable. Anyone else in the water? How do you mix up your workouts to keep it fresh and reduce the threat of boredom? ~ Debbie

Back onboard with a plan.
Well after a hiatus of a couple years dealing with life and health issues, I'm back. I was happy to read that from my original entry 2 yrs ago, I'm down 9 lbs. How did that happen??!! lol I won't say that I will "try my best," as the word "try" can set me up to fail. Now my mantra is I "will do" my best. Been back at it…

Just need a few "You got this" to stay on track.
Today is the end of week 3. Week one lost 3 lbs., week two lost 1 pound, week three gained 1 pound. Seriously???? My commitment has been strong; working out 5 days a week for 30 - 45 minutes per day and being ever so conscious about what food I am eating and not eating - limiting carbs and sugar and focusing on protein,…

The Bean... How Can I Estimate Calories Burned?
Hi. I've pulled out The Bean and the two workout DVD's using strength training principles and cardio, i.e. calorie crunching and lower body bean workout and total body bean blaster. My plan is to incorporate them into my daily workouts so I don't get totally bored w/the treadmill. Any suggestions on how I can…

Here I go... again...
Happy Sunday! I'm brand new to MFP and, with renewed motivation, it's time that I feel better and am healthier... that means losing the weight I've lost and regained many times over. Getting back to basics... food choices, activity and lifestyle - working to get away from the word "diet," preferring to say "food choices"…
