What's the deal with nuts?
I know that we are supposed to stay away from nuts for several months, but never heard why? Is there a specific reason? I managed to NOT stay away from them, this evening. -Phill

2 month update

VSG on Monday 11/10. I miss my NSAIDs!!
I'm less than 48 hours away from my surgery. I've been following the pre-op diet pretty well and I've lost 17 pounds in less than 2 weeks. Protein powder for hot foods
As I get ready for surgery in 2 weeks I'm looking for all of the tools I'm going to need. I know that whey-based protein is the best form of protein powder, but it's not something that does well in hot foods like broth. Any suggestions for unflavored or savory flavored protein supplements that will stand up to heat? -Phill

Got my date, November 10th!
After swinging in the wind for 2 weeks we finally got our surgery dates. I'm going 11/10 and my husband is going three weeks later on 12/1. We've got to still do the pre-surgery nutritionist, surgery consult, and final testing. So glad we finally have this solidified. Now to get my act together! -Phill
