Calorie count in Garmin Connect
Does anyone find that the calorie count in Garmin Connect works with MFP? I track mine almost entirely on MFP using the GC calorie adjustment, but it would be nice if the two synced in some way. So far, it's been so radically off in GC that I completely ignore the page.

Vivofit users: Anyone know how to...
Anyone know how to get the Garmin Connect and MFP apps or sites to disconnect and reconnect the accounts successfully? I've tried everything I can find and it either doesn't work or the option isn't available. I can't find it at all on the Garmin Connect website.

Hummus vs. Mayo
I think Hummus has become the God given alternative to mayonnaise for me. It is so stinkin' good on sandwiches! Anyone else? Or does anyone have another alternative that is not as calorie dense as mayo? I mean, I love mayo, but it's not worth the calories when well seasoned hummus is so good.

Upper limit to calories burned per minute?
I'm wondering if anybody has good info on how many calories an average cardio workout should burn per minute. The numbers I've been working with assume that anything more than 10 calories per minute is unrealistic, but I don't have any solid science behind that. For instance, I did some pretty decent cardio today, using a…

Anyone know how the Vivofit calorie adjustments work?
I picked up a Garmin Vivofit today. I like what it does, but I'm not understanding how the calorie adjustments work when it syncs with MFP. Does anyone with more experience with the device understand it? Forum searches and playing around have not made it any clearer.

App doesn't show asterisks in food database?
Maybe I'm missing something. I randomly decided to compare entries in the app with entries in the website. I was surprised to see that the asterisks indicating foods input by users are not showing up in the app. Is there a setting I'm missing? Is this the same for others? I recall being able to see them in the app before.…

Yellow Egg Soup
So, I thought I'd toss this meal recipe out there and see of anybody likes it. I like strong, rich, spicy flavor's and this one fits the bill. I've developed a hundred variations over the years. Warning: if you don't like fish sauce, this is a waste of your time unless you want to try it without the fish sauce. I've never…

Any value in logging spices?
Not including salt; which I consider to be in a class of its own for the purpose of this topic, does anybody see any value in the hassle of logging spices? I understand that they have micronutrient value, but does anyone think it is worth it?

Weighing food entries
I have to say. I just started weighing my food. It's a bit of a hassle, but it is so absolutely worth it with a decent scale that you can zero out the tare on. Zero out with the plate on, add pork chops or whatever. Zero again and add second dish. Zero again and add third dish. Decide I want a little catsup, slap the plate…

Mixed food weighing techniques?
I'm wondering how some of you who weigh their food approach it? I just start weighing and thris morning I made eggs with diced leftover pork chops, as an example. Being only two foods mixed I thought it would be worth it to try something other than estimate. I just estimated high for the butter I used to cook them in. So,…

Eliminating toxins in fat cells by weight loss and exercise.
Thoughts, insights, denials, interest? This article's based on studies regarding detoxification of stored toxins in fat cells caused mainly by chemical exposure. The claim is that these toxins are reintroduced into our blood stream by exercise and weight loss. The article also suggests saunas and niacin as a method for…

Steam rooms, good or bad? Any reliable, actual factual info?
So, as part of my workout I hit the steam room afterward. What studying up I've done on the subject leaves me with the assumption that the sweat they produce is almost completely water, wih little or no value for calorie loss. I visit it on the assumption that if I hydrate well before and after and have no imbalance of…

Macro goal question. (Diary open)
I've been reading up, and landed on this page: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/819055-setting-your-calorie-and-macro-targets My current goal settings are what I came up with using the formula on that page for protein and fat, with carbs being the leftover percentage. It gave me: Protein 40% Fat 50% Carbs 10% Given…

Plateau thread #90,000,001
I could use a little advice. I've started consistently trying to lose weight after a year of injury, on a steady streak for over a couple of weeks. I am using MFP, (just opened my diary) to track calories. I'm working out every other day, and considering boosting It to 4 or 5 days a week soon if my injured neck can handle…

Macronutrients question.
I'll try to make this as simple and clear as I can. My regular diet is an attempt at a casual, hassle free low(ish) carb diet. Having tracked my food for a while on the app, I find that I'm eating roughly 50% fat 30% carbs usually a little over 20% protein with the difference coming out of carbs or fats. I am comfortable…
