App doesn't show asterisks in food database?

Maybe I'm missing something.
I randomly decided to compare entries in the app with entries in the website. I was surprised to see that the asterisks indicating foods input by users are not showing up in the app.
Is there a setting I'm missing? Is this the same for others?
I recall being able to see them in the app before.
I weigh my food whenever possible and I'm trying to achieve a reasonably low margin of error in my entries, but this seems like a potentially major discrepancy in my accuracy, as apparently the majority of my entries have been user entered without my knowledge.
Thoughts or input?

I should add that the lack of confirmations in the app plays into the confidence factor as well, but I don't know that the app has ever shown confirmations.
That would be a huge help.0
