I finished the Couch 2 5K program in June and am on my way to a triathlon in August. But TODAY I ran 60 minutes straight. One full hour! Feels GREAT! To date I'm 30+ lbs down and in better shape that I've been in a VERY long time. For anyone out there looking for inpiration. Nothing is as inspiring as accomplishing a goal.…

Name Calling that felt GOOD
Today I received an email from someone that I know professionally and personally. The email was work related, but at the end she wrote, "By the way saw your latest fb profile pic and you look awesome, you skinny *****!" When I responded to the email I simply signed it.... Sincerely, Skinny *****

Overweight...yeah me!
Lots of little victories... Yesterday I officially got down to being "overweight". No more obese for me! I am one pound away from hitting the 30 lb lost mark. (I am afraid to update my weight in case it doesn't stick.) We had our last official weigh in for my work Biggest Loser competition. In the 13 weeks of the…

Under 200 -- Yowza!
For the past few weeks I've been flirting with the 200 mark. A few times I've been 199.8 or close, but today I was a solid 199! It feels like I've officially made it past the 2's on the scale. Now on to the mid- 100's....

Levi's Fitting - two sizes too small?
I'm having a girls weekend with a friend. We stopped at an outlet mall on the way to a cabin. I wanted to get a shirt for one of my kids. Anyway, we ended up in the Ann Taylor shop. I realized the clothes I had on were so big they were uncomfortable. Tried on a few shirts, they felt great so I got a few. I couldn't find…

Weston A. Price
Anyone out there use the Weston A. Price philosophy while losing weight? I've had the Nourishing Traditions cookbook for a long time because it is helpful with my son's combination of soy and dairy allergies. Most cookbooks use soy as the dairy replacement and vice versa. It actually gave us more options. Anyway, the…

200.4 and a new bra
Ah the simple things. Today I stepped on the scale to see 200.4. I've been trying not to think about the big milestone of being under 200, but it definately brought a smile to my face. Once I hit 199 that will mark 25 pounds lost. I'm just trying to keep up my pace, but not obsess over it. The thing I was actually more…

Just Saying...don't like those exercise bands
Considering I've been lugging kids around for the last six years (and the oldest now weighs over 50 pounds) it's pretty embarrassing how weak my arms are. I'm doing Slim in 6. Most of the time I don't use the bands, just do the exercises without them. Well, I've been slowly trying to work them in....it sucks! It's hard,…

Juice Plus
Anyone taking Juice Plus? I went to a party over the weekend and I'm just not sure it's necessary. I eat an insane amount of fruits and veggies. My husband and kids on the other hand may need it. So, I'm wondering if you do (or have) use it what has your experience been? What specifically has improved for you? Is it worth…
