Fasting two days a week?
I have read testimony from people who swear by fasting for two, then eating their normal 500-1000 deficit the other days. I'm not sure if this is because they have a larger deficit for the whole week or something else, I'm just curious as to why someone would do this and is it useful at all? I'm guessing it might also have…

Once and for all, am I sedentary?
So I'm about 230lbs right now, and 5'6. I have a chronic illness that keeps me from working and I spend a lot of time in bed. It doesn't affect my mobility and I get up to do laundry and fetch food, shower etc. In short I do more than just lay in bed, but not much more.

Any advice for starting lane swimming?
Unfortunately me and my mum can no longer afford our gym membership, I've been walking briskly and using videos like 30 Day Shred, but I'd like to add an hour of swimming to that since it's the only sport I could ever do! My local pool does lane swimming with slow, medium and fast lanes for an hour at lunch time. Should I…

I'm doing a health documentary, and I want your help :)
Essentially I'm doing the opposite of Super Size Me. Following all the best advise for 12 weeks, getting tests done before and after to see what happens. I'll be keeping a video diary and it gets edited together at the end. If you could answer these questions I'd be so so grateful. 1. If you had to pick the four pillars of…

I'm confused, please tell me if I'm eating enough!
So, I'm a 20 year old female, weighing 226 pounds at 5'6. Some days I'm sedentary, other days lightly active doing shop and house work and the like. I go to the gym every week day and work myself damn hard. Somehow I don't think 1250 (MFP recommendation!) is going to be enough, but I've been doing 1500 and only eating back…

Eating back half my workout calories. Yea or Nay?
Because the calories burnt listed on MFP are so inflated, I've been eating back half the calories it tells me I can. I can't afford a heart rate monitor at the moment. Am I over simplifying or is this ok?

Can I lower my calories to get over a bad week?
I went totally off the rails last week, I was pissed off at a sports injury and pretty much ate what I wanted. Before that I was on 1500 calories and felt that it was just right. Can I go down to 1200 just for a week to lose the 2lbs I put on promptly? Or would that be unhealthy? It's not like I'd be starving or anything,…

I'm new around here...
I've never tried calorie counting before but after one day I love it already. I like that I'm required to use my brain and invent my own healthy meals, I've already fallen afoul of the sugar limit though! I'd love to add some of you guys and hear about all your awesome losses, good luck to us all!
