Low Carb diet for PCOS
Hello :) I hope I am posting this in the right place. First of all, I was recommended to cut down carbs because I am insulin resistant which basically means that my body has a hard time breaking down carbs and produces excess insulin. Both of which turn to fat. I am not on any medications but I am planning to take a…

How to avoid eating so much in the evening and weekends
So, when I am at work, I do AMAZING on my calories. I eat what I am supposed to and when. When I get home, the struggle is real and sometimes my cravings are out of control. At first I thought maybe I was eating too little calories at work so I increased that but I still would come home and overeat. At this point it seems…

Motivational Phrases
I was searching the internet for motivating phrases but most of the ones that I have found aren't really inspiring. I was wondering what phrases and/or quotes you found inspiring either for food or exercise motivation. One that I did find that is currently on my fridge is "You don't have to win every single battle to win…

Homemade Crunch Wrap Supreme (with pic)
So, keep in mind that you can modify this in any way to reduce a certain aspect of it. ie: red pepper flakes instead of taco seasoning to reduce the sodium, using yogurt instead of sour cream, omitting the cheese, etc... Makes 4 Servings (1 serving filled me to the brim) 4 Burrito size tortillas 1 lb ground turkey 93/7…

Note to the future me when I am struggling.
I started writing letters to the future me who gets discouraged and unmotivated. Decided to share on the off chance that it motivates someone else. 3/7/14 I am currently browsing through success stories on Myfitnesspal and I am so envious, jealous, and motivated to become one of those girls. They have such amazing results.…

Hi. My name is Bethany, and I am a food addict.
Starting weight: 320 Current weight: 299 Goal weight: 160 I got down to 289! I was so proud of myself. Then.... the holidays happened. I got sidetracked. I was doing so well and fell off after Christmas which is exactly what I promised myself I wouldn't do. Here it is, March, and 2 months have been wasted. Not only was I…

Holiday Eating
I have been watching what I eat and exercising regularly since September 2nd of this year. I have been really committed with the occasional slip up on a meal but soon got back on track. With Thanksgiving, I went WAY overboard for the better part of a week. I ate until I could almost burst and was then eating all the foods…

No Scale Movement
So, for the past two weeks, I have not lost any weight, yet I have been eating the same amount of calories and exercising with the same amount of intensity. I even took it up a notch and still, no movement. Any advice/motivating thoughts?

Strength Training
So, I am classified as "morbidly obese" and I heard that the best way to lose weight when you are that big is to gain muscle so that your every day actions burn off more weight as well as cardio. For those of you who have lost a lot of weight (50+ lbs), what strength training exercises did you find most helpful? Did you…

Suggestions for alternative fun workouts
I am currently 296 lbs and was wondering if anyone knew of some fun activities I could do to get my body moving on days that I don't do my cardio and weight training at the gym. I have done a little bit of walking in the park on my days off but now that it is getting colder, I know those will be few and far between. Any…

NSV The Doctor Called!
In September of this year, I went to my gynecologist for an annual check up. I have PCOS, so it is customary for them to draw my blood. My results were in and my fasting glucose levels were high. Borderline diabetic high. Since then, I have lost 24 lbs and have been eating a lot healthier. Today I received a call from my…

Eating: Then and Now
So, just for fun, I took a normal day of what I used to eat. I pretty much ate out for every meal. I'd eat 2 mcmuffins, 2 hashbrowns and a sprite for breakfast (and still be hungry after). For lunch, we would go to either a Japanese steakhouse, a hamburger joint, or something of that nature. For dinner, it would be a…

How to handle life after a binge
So, I am just starting out into these new habits and I find myself slipping up.... big. Two days ago, I consumed almost 3000 calories for no reason at all. Sometimes I feel if I stray from perfection even a little bit, it gives me a free pass to eat bad the rest of the day and that day turns in to two days. I have done…
