26 mo. Post sleeve, plastics 3 days postop
Hello, haven't been on in a while, wanted to check in. My sleeve was Jan 2014, lost 80 lbs, I'm 5'2", maintained loss 20 mo so far. Had Fleur de lis abdominoplasty, Brachioplasty on Friday 3/18. Things are very tight in the abdomen, some swelling. Arms are quite swollen. Wouldn't say I've had a lot of pain, just tight.…

Pumpkin pie crunch quest bars
There is another recent post on quest bars here, I was not aware of the change to corn fiber, thank you garber! I personally do not notice a taste change but someone else mentioned a little increase in calories, thank you for bringing that to our attention as well! I was hesitant to try new flavor pumpkin pie as it seems…

Skinny b#%^$& moment
So, I had a garage sale this weekend and something embarrassing happened. Three plus sizes ladies were looking at clothing and one held out a bathing suit that I had marked size 14 asking me if it was a girls 14 or womens 14. I replied that it was a girls 14. It looked very small and I also remarked that if it were a…

One year today!
Today is my surgiversary, I have to say I have mixed emotions. I've lost 80 pounds and would like to lose 10 more. I've gone from a size 20 to an 8. No more blood pressure medication, I feel great and have come to sort of enjoy exercising. These are all great things I would never have imagined were possible a year ago. So…

I'm overweight!
Being a shorty (5'2") the BMI chart is not kind to me :) but as of today, I am no longer obese! To me, I still feel like "me" but people I haven't seen in a while will say, "I didn't even recognize you!" So I know I'm getting somewhere.

5k done!
I had my 11 year old daughter with me so it was more of a run/walk but we did it! Now I am ready to do one on my own next month ;) I've wanted to run a race for a long time and now I am able to do it, thanks to the sleeve!

So worth it!
Sat down after running (first 5 k in 2 weeks!), crossed my legs like it was nothing. For me, surgery and the lifestyle changes I have adopted are so worth it!

40 !
As of today, I am 40 years old and I am down 40 lbs from the first appt. I had with my surgeon. Hard to believe (on both counts!)

NSAIDS
Just curious what you all were told as far as NSAID use after surgery. My doctor wants us to avoid using them but I see others were told it is ok. I have a neck injury that flares up maybe once a year and in the past I used Aleve, ibuprofen and muscle relaxers. It is bothering me right now and I am taking Tylenol and…

One-derland
I made it! Not quite as tired as last week, had lab work done and everything looked fine. I'm still having right sided pain but Dr. Feels it is normal postop and I go back for appt. on Thursday. My goal for this week is walking 30 min EVERYDAY, even if I have to break it up in 10-15 min sessions :)

Exhausted!
I am 3 weeks post surgery now and over the past 2-3 days my energy level is really decreasing. I am getting 700-800 calories, 80+ grams protein, 50-60 carbs and 64+ oz. of fluids in every day. I had been walking and even did first day of c25k (I have done program before) but found I am not ready for running yet. I know my…

5 days out
Things are going pretty good here. Doing a lot better getting the protein and the liquids. Getting used to Isopure Zero Carb RTD before surgery was a good idea, don't really care for the taste but can't argue with 40 gm protein in every 20 oz. Not really taking any pain meds, some soreness around my drain (yes, I still…

I am home
Got home yesterday. For me, I've had 3 c-sections so the pain is there but not really the big issue. Nausea! I now understand the cycle of I am nauseous so I don't eat and I don't eat so I am nauseous. Trying to push through, get it in slowly. I got up in the night to use the restroom, came back to bed and took a few sips…

Food bucket list
So, I start my preop diet tomorrow. My last appt. with surgeon was Monday, I knew I had a few days of not having to be quite as "good" as I have been. My daughter (11) asked me what was on my food bucket list :) . After some thought, there were really only a few things I wanted to have. Not because I think I'll never be…
