Days off dieting
Normally my diet and sport is fairly strict, but when I have a day off and don't count cals and just eat whatever I like, I usually drop a few pounds right the day after. really helps when I hit a plateau. how on earth does this work? Just to be clear, on my days off I am not eating cakes all day - but I might have a…

Lady runners - needing a wee when running
whenever I go on long runs, I have this issue. sometimes more than once. even if I go before I run. often I run residential streets or parks without 'private areas' if you know what I mean. this means often I end up walking the rest, or getting a bus. what do you do in this situation

Mini- success - for short ladies!
hi there I just wanted to say, im 5ft 3 and in my first month I've lost 8lb. It doesn't sound like much and I was disappointed. BUT then I worked out, that is 5% of my body weight. when you are petite, each 1lb is a greater proportion of your overall weight. when a 5ft 11 lady loses 10lb, perhaps it will be hard to notice.…

Stop eating and stay in bed?
Basically while I am busting myself in the gym, eating fruit and veggies, counting my cals and losing 1lb a week, one of my friends has told me her secret diet. she is a teacher so she gets loads of time off. whenever she needs to lose like 10lb - 15lb fast for hols, she says she just drinks water or herbal tea, takes a…

When you lost weight, did it cure / improve your asthma?
when I was young I had a BMI between 18 - 23 and no asthma. but I struggled with asthma as I got older. I now am BMI of about 28. I cant tell if the asthma made me stop sport and eat junk (I was not on meds and craved coffee and sugary food to keep me going as aasthma makes me tired) then I got fat, or if I got fat which…

how much did you lose to notice a difference
those in the know say - takes 4 weeks for YOU to notice - 8 weeks for your close mates to notice - 12 weeks for everyone else but we all lose at different rates. so what is this translated in to weight

Losing inches but not weight - how?
How is this possible? one must have a surplus of calories to build muscle, yet I am in deficit. definitely.

Bored of dieting, cal counting and exercising?
As per the title. I just cant be bothered to spend hours running anymore, or working out. Or calorie counting. Or worrying if I skip too many meals if it is ok or if I might pass out (I don't have an ED but sometimes I skip meals if I am too tired to eat). Do you ever get bored? its so much easier to stay in with your…

Awesome weight loss tip - cut out sugarfree energy drinks!
Hey guys Just thought I'd share this with you all. I used to drink a can (or two) of SUGAR-FREE 'red bull' energy drinks everyday. they have the same caffeine as a cup of coffee. I used to drink coffee as well. now some say coffee will help you lose weight. and it gave me a boost in the morning, energy in sport. BUT it…

Share your dieting 'staple foods'?
what foods to you eat everyday and consider your dieting staples? for example, many cultures might consider rice a staple and base most main meals around it? for me, bananas, hot chocolate and fat free yoghurt are my staples. must have bananas everyday - easy to carry, cheap and filling. hot choc - staves off sugar…

How much is 'water weight'?
obviously it will vary from person to person, height, weight etc. but in general? some say about 2 lbs, others say the first 10lbs. i personally put on 5lbs in water weight in a day, lost it a couple days later, and have just pu on 2lbs water weight. how can we know if we are gaining o losing if water weight keeps adding…

Loose skin after weight loss - does it go away?
As per the title. Some places say yes, your skin does shrink back if you moisturise and don't lose too fast. Others say, no it doesn't. Obviously age plays a part, so assuming that person is say 25 - 35. Under that age, your skin is still elastic so unless you have a lot to lose, it should be ok. Over 35-40 ish, possibly…
