Help transitioning to steady running

I have been running since about January and I am able to do 5kms pretty easy but I still find the most I can run straight is about 8mins before I need to take a min walk break. Eating before Running
Learned something very valuable this evening.... DO not eat a ton of Chinese fried rice and sweet and sour chicken than attempt to run 5k on the treadmill I feel like I may BARF.

New guy training for my fist Half Marathon
Hey everyone I am new to this I am training for my fist marathon this coming October and working to get back in shape. I started this journey mid November and since than I have lost 31LBS and I am now up to running intervals of 5k from barley being able to walk 3K, I am hopping to lose another 20LBS.
