Eating before Running

Learned something very valuable this evening.... DO not eat a ton of Chinese fried rice and sweet and sour chicken than attempt to run 5k on the treadmill I feel like I may BARF.

I need to wait 3-4 hours after eating a meal, especially one like you had, before I can run, otherwise I experience cramps. I tend to run in the mornings to avoid that. So much easier for me to just get up, run, then cook an omelet right after.0

I found that I cannot really eat any kind of big meals before I go for a run. Small, light meals are what works for me(Most of the time I actually wait to eat until I have ran.). Some people can go to an all you eat buffet and no ill effects, not I.0

I will remember this feeling for sure, most times I run before I eat or at least 2 or so hours after and that will be the norm from now on. it was not a pleasant run that's for sure.0
