Help! Sore/painful leg muscles
Good morning, I recently started to work out and I've been reading New Rules of Lifting. I was planning on incorporating the 3x week strength training into my schedule. On Monday I did day 1 workout 1, which started with 2 sets of 15 reps of squats with a 60 second rest. Yesterday, my arm muscles were sore, which is okay,…

Pineapples
I don't know about you, but I absolutely love pineapples. I grew up eating mangoes, papaya, pineapples and coconuts. Now that my local grocery store finally carries pineapples (I live in a "ritzy" neighborhood where they mostly sell off-the-wall, organic only type foods), I've been eating pineapple for a week straight. But…

A Rant - Work Related
I've been doing pretty good on my weight loss journey. But sometimes, I don't feel like cooking and I'll instead buy a microwave meal, such as a FitChen, for my lunch. For background, I work at a very small law firm where there's only about 6 of us. I also keep snacks at my desk such as protein bars and oatmeal. Last week,…

How often should you re-calculate your calorie goals?
MFP put me at 1350 a day to lose 2 lbs a week. This morning, I'm .8 lbs away from my 1st goal weight of losing 25 lbs, and I re-calculated and it dropped me down to 1290 calories. I'm just curious how often I should be doing this. I'm getting closer and closer to 1200 calories. :( Thanks.

Does this number seem a bit off to you?
I purchased a package of chicken tenderloins on Sunday from Heritage Farm. On the package, the serving size was 4 oz, or 112g. I use a food scale. I cook them, and then weigh my portion for the day on the scale, since I mass cook them over the weekend and eat them throughout the week. 119g is -two- tenderloins and clocking…

Healthy dinners to quickly eat before class?
I'm taking night classes on Mondays and Tuesdays. I go straight from work to class for 4 hours. My work barely allocated any time for me to even get there on time, so I'm looking for ideas for any dinners that I can eat at around 5:45pm that will keep my hunger levels down until I get home at 11pm. I'm looking for dinners…

Healthy lunches for work?
Hi guys, I'm running out of ideas for lunch at work. I want something different because I've been stuck eating the same thing for the past month or so. MFP tells me to eat 1350 a day and I have >100 lbs to lose. My breakfast is usually about 200 calories. My snacks during work is usually a Greek yogurt and a Quest bar, so…

Cooked Rice vs Dry Rice
The Nutrition for my box of brown rice says: Servings Size 1/2 cup (43g) makes about 1 cup cooked Calories 150 Since this is boil-in-a-bag rice, since my normal rice comes out like soup, if I measure out 43g of rice AFTER it's cooked, will it still be 150 calories? I can't separate 43g of rice from the bag.

BMR - Eating Below It?
Hello, I am approximately 270 lbs, 5'2", female, 24 y/o, mostly sedentary. I do dancing and jogging an average of 3 to 4 times a week for 20 - 25 minutes (it's a start). I saw a post recently about how you shouldn't eat below your BMR, or too much below your BMR, as it is unhealthy. I have an enormous amount of weight to…

Pain in side when walking fast/running
 So this is probably something fairly easy to fix... or common, I hope. But whenever I even do a slight jog or I walk fast, I get this bad pain in my right side, under/in my rib cage. Breathing makes it hurt more. Stopping what I'm doing makes the pain go away but as soon as I start again, it begins to hurt. What is…

Garlic Lime Chicken
This is hands-down my favorite chicken in the world. I posted it a few times as a "status update" on here and everyone who has made it really loved it! Now I'm sharing it with everyone! Garlic Lime Chicken – Serves 2 2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves 2 teaspoons butter 2 teaspoons olive oil 2 tablespoons low sodium…

BMR/TDEE confusion
Kinda confused right now. 5'2", female, 261 lbs-ish Using MFP's estimates, right now I'm eating at approximately 1680 calories per day. I recently read that you should not eat below your BMR, ever. Curious, I went to a few websites to calculate my BMR. Here is what was spit out: Scooby's calculator: 1923…

How can I get my fiance to start with me?
I love my fiance. He's 26 and a wonderful guy. He's smart, funny, and has a heart of gold. His goal in life is to be a father and I (eventually) want to give him that. The problem is that he is very overweight and *wants* to do something about it but at the same time... Doesn't. Let me try to explain. He's about 6'2" or…

Obese and new to exercising
Hello, I am more than 130+ lbs overweight, but I'm young (23 years old) and female. Right now, I walk around my block 6 days a week (roughly 1.35 miles; takes me about 20-25 minutes. Sometimes I'll take the "long way" of the walk and it'll be upped to about 1.6 miles, taking me approximately 30 minutes to complete), with…

Kinda confused?
I have a really hard time with numbers (like almost failing math every year in school bad) and I'm extremely confused. I used MFP's auto-set up of my calorie intake and it put me at 1430 calories a day. But when I visit threads, I check diaries and see people eating at 1700 calories a day and then people jump on their…
