sugar free - sounds like a massive challenge to me!
So, tomorrow I am getting a book ( a much appreciated gift from a friend ) which is all about a sugar free diet. I am curious if any of you have gone there and what the results have been like. Bare in mind, I need to lose about half my body weight .... so whatever road I take will be a long one. I figure it is worth a try…

A year has gone by ....and I am left feeling disappointed
So I have pretty diligently logged for the last year, and thought I was doing well and am definitely feeling good, then I looked at the big picture and couldn't help but be a little discouraged. I have for the last year trained 3-5 one hour personal or group training sessions per week and watched my calorie intake (sitting…

Slow and Steady wins the race they say......but geez it can
I am the heaviest I have ever been and my aim is to be in a size 18 (which I think is a US 16) by my 40th birthday in May '12 - currently I am in a 24-26 so its a long road ahead. I also hope to buy the dress from a regular store not a plus size store if I can. I have tried the MFP method because I believe my best hope at…

tuckshop lady arms...... they are getting worse not better!
I have lost about 13kg through hard work and lots of exercise which is with a trainer and is a combination of cardio, weight and strength training. My arms though are looking worse not better! At least when my arms were fat they were taught, where as now I have the horrible droopy wings that hang below the nice muscley…

My own worst enemy
I have been dieting now for about 7 months and have lost 12kg ( which when you have 50 to lose isn't much) so its a slow and steady race I am in and I am ok with that. My problem though is that I have hit a major motivational slump and I can't work out why. People are starting to notice my weight loss and I am starting to…

L-Carnitine ???
I have been training hard , 2-4 1hr sessions a week with my trainer and am slowly getting good results. I take a protein shake 1-2 times per day and other than that take no supplements or medication other than the pill. It was suggested to me (not by my trainer) that I should be taking L-carnitine to get better results…

Smashed it!
Today was a little scale victory for me! I have been hovering in the 8.5-9.5kg mark for about 4-5 weeks and the hurdle of 10kg just seemed unsurmountable ! Last week I got to 9.9kg and whilst I was feeling great the 10kg was still feeling out of reach. But I am happy to report that after sitting just under and stressing…

Mental Hurdles
I had an experience today that made me think of the mental hurdles I face every day with my weightloss. My trainer is a big fan of running - I am not! However today he said "we are going to run" and so as always I just did it. The whole time though whilst doing my 30 sec intervals of running, I wasn't worried about the…

Tomorrow is weigh in day!
Tomorrow sees me complete my first 8 week challenge with my personal trainer. I am currently sitting in about 8th place out of 42 and tomorrow will see where I finish. My goal was always top 5 and I have come to the realisation that even if I don't get top 5 that I have still achieved so much. I am the heaviest girl int he…
