Questions FROM the UK and FOR the UK
OK I have asked several questions on here about things, usually that I don't know what things are or what something means etc I was just wondering on a more general basis if there are any questions about the UK anyone would like to ask, and if anyone from the UK has any questions about either the US or other countries,…

Further proof to motivate me!
Today my doorbell rang and although I was just about to get into the bath and in my robe, my 17 year old son who was dressed did not answer the door, (mainly because he is 17 I think) it was his football coach, (I think another reason for not answering the door!) he wanted to find out if Josh is going to sign for his team…

Need cheering up please
I am feeling a bit sorry for myself and need to get it off my chest, if that's OK? I have wanted to have the top of my ear pierced for years, first off after my daughter had it and I was surprised that my Mum actually liked it, after she did I thought about having it done and didn't ever get around to it. I then saw Meryl…

Very confused about 'biscuits'
OK I went out to Marks and Spencer today to have a cappuccino with friends, and they come with a teeny biscuit. I wanted to add the teeny biscuit and so went searching for it and found to my horror loads of entries talking about biscuits with gravy and sausage and other things, I can only assume that a biscuit is not the…

Easter Eggstravaganza: Surviving Easter on a diet
It's Easter time and as far as food is concerned, it's all about chocolate. You'll find it everywhere you look - on the TV, in the supermarkets, in magazines and newspapers and all over children's faces. It's enough to make anyone's good intentions, literally, melt away. It doesn't have to be a tough time for dieting.…

Mothers Day tomorrow, so might need to be strong!
Tomorrow is Mothers Day, I have 3 children (two have left home) and I have been invited over for dinner by the eldest, I am worried for two reasons, #1 being that I want to eat what she cooks for me and enjoy it without guilt and worrying about it's calories etc and #2 I suspect chocolates might be a present, and I know…

Not sure how much a 'cup' is?
I am not familiar with the measure 'cup' that is used a lot on this site. Can anyone tell me how much this is in either metric or imperial? Just so I can have an idea when it says 1 cup = so many calories. Thank you, and sorry if this has been asked before
