Resetting my ticker for the new year!
I lost 19 lbs which is 10% of my starting weight and now maintained for the past 2 months. Going to try to lose the next 10% and thought resetting my ticker might be helpful (to show my new goal is 36 lbs to lose, no longer 55 lbs). I don't know if it's a good idea or not but it seems less daunting to me! Anyone else do…

Wii fit for Christmas gift?
I am thinking of getting Wii fit for someone for Christmas but have never used it. Does anyone have it? Like it? How does it work? Is there a difference between Wii and Wii Fit or is the Fit part just an add-on? Do you have to buy different programs for it? Any suggestions? Thanks!

trying to maintain!
I have been trying to maintain a 10% weight loss for the past few weeks, and would like to until after Christmas, then I will try to lose weight again. The issue (and don't hate me for this, I know it's a stupid thing to complain about) is that in the past week I have dropped about 3 lbs. Except instead of eating 1200…

OMG Pics!
I was hanging out with a guy friend last night and showing him pictures from a trip last week on my phone, and forgot about progress pics I have been taking for myself! In underwear and sports bra!!! Talk about mortifying! Where does everyone who takes such pictures periodically keep them? On your computer? Phone? Want…

10% loss and then maintain?
I was reading on WebMD about realistic ways of losing weight. Since August I have lost about 18-20 pounds depending on the day, and have plateaued for the past few weeks. I read that a healthy way to "reset" your natural weight point (which is higher after you gain weight) is to lose 10% of your body weight then maintain…

1/3 of the way there! (17lbs lost with pics)
I am 5'3 and started out at 190 lbs. I signed up for MFP in July of this year but didn't really start using it (especially the community section) until end of August/beginning of September. I had been putting on weight over the summer despite being quite aware of it, but finally just couldn't take it anymore. I won't go…

I had leftover apples from apple picking last weekend and just made this really yummy apple crisp, thought I'd share the recipe ;) 4 apples, sliced (didn't peel for higher fiber content) 4 teaspoons cinnamon 3/4 cup quick cooking oats 3/4 cup brown sugar 2 tablespoons butter Slice the apples and put in 9x9 pan, dust with…

Questions for C25K grads
I am in the middle of week 6 and have a bunch of questions. Did you use treadmill or run outside and which did you prefer? Did you ever do one week three days in a row to catch up? How did your speed change throughout? What was your final 5k time? And was this your first time running or had you run before but wanted to…

food vs. exercise!
I have been stuck at the same weight for the past two weeks, it seems like either I am exercising but eating more (eat most of my exercise calories) or not exercising and eating more along maintenance. So today I want to exercise but feel like it hasn't been helping that much. I know it has though, maybe I'm just making…

cockroach!!!
I had a work lunch meeting where lunch was provided and I had requested a vegetarian lunch. Well it came with Lay's barbecue chips, a cookie and potato salad and the veggie sandwich had grilled veggies (looked oily though). ANYway I opened the box before the meeting and there was a small COCKROACH running around the box--I…

Dolvett Quince on Biggest Loser...
He's one of the new trainers, does anyone else think he is absolutely beautiful?! Also I always get a little choked up watching the BL, anyone else? Very inspirational, I know the show is controversial about how the weight loss is achieved but I still love the show anyway.

No Pudge Fudge Brownies!
That's actually the name of the brownie mix--I bought it at Whole Foods. You can make individual servings by mixing 2 tablespoons of mix with 1 tablespoon of plain or vanilla yogurt, and microwave for 30sec, for 120 calories. So easy and perfect for a chocolate fix or quick dessert!

Post Your LCV (like NSV) Oct. 2
LCV= Lifestyle Change Victory (like picking a healthier food option, or working out when you're dead tired), rather than non-scale victory (like fitting into a smaller pair of pants or getting checked out, although those are great too ;) . I am also trying to make changes for myself each day, and thinking about posting…

Post Your LCV (like NSV) Oct. 1
I came up with LCV while I was out walking today, it stands for Lifestyle Change Victory. I realized that I love reading the NSV threads but I'm more interested in what people are doing that's different and making a lifestyle change (like picking a healthier food option, or working out when you're dead tired), rather than…

Does anyone eat chocolate on a daily basis?!
I looooove chocolate and have eaten it here and there and stayed within my calories most days, and still losing weight. But I worry about 2 things: one, overeating some days, and two, that it will impede my weight loss. But I do love it. If you have chocolate most days, what do you have, and how do you keep yourself from…

Pizza question!
I'm making a veggie pizza today and I have orange bell peppers. When you make a pizza with bell peppers do you roast the peppers first and then add to the pizza, or just put them raw and then bake? I am putting raw spinach, tomato, basil and onion on there. And garlic. I saw a recipe that called for roasting the garlic…

Do you also have MS?
I just put up a post for people with similar weight goals as me, but I was also diagnosed with MS in March of this year, and would love to also have "friends" who have MS on this site. I have the relapsing and remitting kind, and it has gotten more under control in the past 2 months. Now I want to become healthy as much on…

Weigh around 180? Would like friends with similar goals!
Just started using this site a couple of months ago, but more active the past couple of weeks. I started at 190, and have started to lose some weight, but I'm realizing this great resource of all these people in the same boat! Anyway if you have similar weight goals (or not, that's ok too!) would love to make "friends" on…

Working out & calorie counting
I am meeting with my new personal trainer today, session #5 with her. I would not be going to the gym today if I didn't have it scheduled. Wondering if anyone else finds this helpful or a waste of money. Also wondering if you use all the calories and eat more the days you work out? My trainer says I should to avoid…
