trying to maintain!

I have been trying to maintain a 10% weight loss for the past few weeks, and would like to until after Christmas, then I will try to lose weight again. The issue (and don't hate me for this, I know it's a stupid thing to complain about) is that in the past week I have dropped about 3 lbs. Except instead of eating 1200 calories (plus exercise calories) I'm eating closer to 2000, and hadn't worked out for a week (restarted yesterday). I have a couple thoughts about the possibilities: 1. dehydration/water weight, 2. muscle loss from not working out for a week (actually 9 days to be exact), 3. higher metabolism from working out a ton over the past 3 months.

Any thoughts?? Has this happened to anyone else?? Should I be concerned, or just be happy about it. I am not complaining about losing weight, but the reason I wanted to maintain through the holidays is to "slow down" my weight loss and therefore be able to keep it off in the long run.

Thanks for any input!!

I do have a smaller calorie deficit but have definitely gone over some days. I guess I hope it's more that it's water retention rather than muscle mass or something, otherwise I'm not concerned and definitely better to lose than to gain I suppose. Thanks for the input!
