I just joined this group because I have been diagnosed with pre-diabetes. I am familiar with a lot of the diabetes lifestyle because it runs very heavy in my family. My question is...are we still counting food units? I know that my sister did but she has been gone since 1999. I know that a lot has changed.

I am trying to manage Type2DM without meds (I am on Januvia that costs like 100$/mo) and have been trying to manage my CHO intake to 45gr or less each meal... It's tough, anyone in this group counting CHOs?
