I have become an avid walker. Started in July 2014 and I STILL LOVE IT! Slow and steady wins the race. Usually get in 10,000 steps a day. I hate seeing the word SEDENTARY and I live for the words HIGHLY ACTIVE!!! Keep on stepping people. B)

I love the idea of being accountable....

Lexbubbles your challenge sounds great although I am not at the point of tracking time ;) .... Just another thing ;) in my already too busy day :) Possibly I will join you on the next time around.

I do however have a way of leaving foot prints without thinking about it.

Would anyone else be interested in "Leaving Foot Prints"

I am going to challenge myself to 10K per day.

You can challenge yourself to any amount of foot prints per day.

We can track per day. Once you reach your 10K goal, and have reached 3 days of consecutive 10K days. Up the amount by 1000 foot prints. Each time you hit that next level for 3 days boost it again.

    Example of Tracking

    Goal: 10K
    Foot Prints Left Today: 3,439

The basic goal is the slow and steady path to moving more.

Anyone is welcome to join :) at any time.

This will be the thread for "leaving your foot prints" as we travel in space and time if you please.

I believe everything is "Wibbly Wobbly" and will sort itself out :)

    I'll join

I bought new shoes today... I am trusting that it will warm up a bit then I can actually walk around the block at work. I am finding that walking at work thru the cubies bugs some people :( ... So i have taken up walking up and down one of the corridors until it warms up. At least I am not the only one.

I am not discouraged just rethinking. :)

Everyone is doing so well :) keep it up.

I made my goal ;) It is amazing what a new pair of shoes and finding "Walk At Home" on youtube can do for you :) . Now to keep it up past 10K for the next two days and I will raise it. I am a happy camper

I'm going to try to keep up with this. My mom just happened to give me a step tracker (I don't think it was that expensive) and I logged a little over 11000 yesterday. My daughter is wearing it for fun today, so I will wear it again tomorrow. Any studies link this to weight loss? I just read an article that said it would only help you loose about 3 pounds over a real long period of time. I am hoping that was wrong!

Focus not on the pounds lost but the improvements in your health. Seeing the number of steps motivates you to move more, pure and simple. It all begins somewhere. I have used a fitbit since March 2014 and am down almost 50lbs this is a combining the fitbit with a healthier diet and exercise bike. I also bought one for my 77year old mum which made her more aware of how little exercise she was doing.

This is great - I like this challenge...I track my steps from the time I get up in the morning to the time I go to bed. I sit at a desk all day and am away from home from 5 a.m. to 7 p.m. ....so weekends I can do better. I work really hard at getting over 10,000 steps at least 15 days of the month. Tonight ... I had to walk around the house to get my 10,000 steps.
