Jim's 8 Guiding Truths
1. Balancing calories and nutrition is a LIFELONG process; "after" does not exist.
2. The key to lifelong health is finding satisfaction in the choices that move us to balance.
3. A slow approach to weight loss is better than extreme calorie deprival. You must eat!
4. We should satisfy our nutritional needs through wise food choices.
5. Eating frequently, throughout the day, is a winning strategy.
6. Physical activity is important for both better health and effective weight control.
7. Perfection is a rocky road that leads to failure. Have a forgiving mindset.
8. We cannot successfully manage performance we cannot measure.

I believe this came from NM as well. I am definitely using this for my profile pic. Great way to be reminded of things to come and what direction to take each step.0

Dancing Man will never be forgotten. I love that guy!0

Granny, I don't think I have ever really met you. People talk about Granny but I am not sure where you are in NM. Seems I never saw any of your posts and if I did and responded then I am sorry I have forgotten. My memory isn't always the best anymore.0

Granny spent most of her time chatting in the Pot Bellied Stove post. I'm hoping she will follow us here, but she may not. Here's her inspiring story.

Thanks for the info on Granny, unfortunately it is offline at the paper that put it online. I would really love to read that story.

I hope you can Blazin. I've tried a couple times on NM and left her a post on her Facebook page. I think she is quite upset over all of this. I hope JC Steele makes it over too. I sent her an invite yesterday.

Granny may just need more time to grieve. I sure do miss her though.0

Shut The Fricken Front Door!
I weigh what? (I finally stepped on the scale - a dropped a little)
Eat your veggies people! (add them to every meal when possible)
Drink your water people! (Always - always - always)
Find your balance people! (You can do it!)
Exercise (Yes - we all have to do it!)
Yesterday I discovered Pork Belly at Trader Joe's! Total Yum! Yes totally fattening! This is okay - once in a while!
My husband tells my brother, "You missed out on dinner last night, your sister made pork belly and it was sooo delicious!" Sam says, "What?! Shut the fricken front door - my sister made something fattening for you to eat?" Mark says, "Yeah! But she made me a double up on the spinach!
Pork Belly - another occasional indulgence.
Happy girl here!

Oh my............ always a funny tale from you Sylvia!
I weighed in today too, okay with it, but still working on it.
eating my veggies, check
drinking my water, check
finding my balance, check
exercise, check
Doing the right things and YES, I agree, you can have something fattening once in a while.

Sylvia, sounds like something worth checking out. That's one of the many wonderful things about NutriMirror. One can indulge occasionally.
Sounds like a trip to Trader Joe's is in my future.

Hahaha that's what I do too... I made stuffed shells, but I added spinach to counteract the sat fat. :-)

Well, I think I done saving everything I can in 2003 word. I'll have to make a file to take to a printer because I don't have a color printer. I am going to continue to log over there until the end and save those last logs too. I want to go out with pride and not quit because it's closing. Sometimes my pride gets in the way and I just walk if I'm angry, lol. I want to make a change in the direction I take with NM.
I still don't understand why it has to go away and why we can't buy a monthly subscription They are closing something that is so needed in this world. I never saw any arguments, everyone seemed to show everyone else respect. I hope we can continue that here because it's hard to find such a place in online journal rooms.
Peace be with you all.0 -
Of course I couldn't stop saving. I decided to save all of my menus as Health Reflection Reports after clicking Food Eaten on each one of them. This way I know exactly what portion of each item I should be eating. Whew, I'm glad I found a way to get menus.0
