    Picking out clothes for "get-a-way";

I had bought 4 or 5 (size 2xl) summer shirts on sale when I was a size 3-4 xl; they were washed, ironed and hanging up -- who'd guess I'd end up a plain XL and those "never worn" 2xl's would be too big.

Guess they'll make nice bum-around or exercise shirts. :)

I wanted to share these progress photos! They took some time to create. I decided that I'm going to make one for every month of this year. I think that the luchadora on the bottom looks a bit stronger/more intimidating. Lol

This has happened to me too! Just completely bypass a whole size!

OK, so…. I know this isn’t a NSV, but it is a big achievement for me… As of today I have met the weight loss goal I set for myself almost a year ago… to lose 55 lbs. before I turn 56 - and today - I did it! I’m rather proud of myself for actually sticking to the process and successfully meeting my goal as I often lose steam after 10-15 lbs. I have a few more lbs. to lose to meet my ultimate goal but nonetheless, I am a happy camper right now! These types of challenge groups have helped me keep the focus - if only to follow thru on the commitment/goal I’ve posted… :) So - to everyone here, keep on moving forward - I will! …. Good luck!!

I guess it could be considered a NSV but I've noticed my mentality on fitness/Health has changed.

I am itching to get to running again and can't wait for the snow to melt
I am looking forward to my 2nd Spartan race in May (and I've challenged myself to do better then last year)
I wake up every morning at 6AM to work out...and I enjoy it
I pack my breakfast and lunch for work with nothing but nummy foods
Its not hard to say no to things that doesn't fit my macro

if you would of asked me 5 years ago if I would be thinking this way...I would of laughed until I peed.

Good job lisele03 and EmmieBaby! It's a long road with no end, its a life long lifestyle. But its a happy place to be, just have to remember how good it feels to.

Today I got brave enough to book an appointment with a personal trainer for lifting on Monday. I want to lift but I want to make sure I am doing it correctly and not harming myself. So little ole me is going to head into the testosterone pit and see what I can learn. Not going to lie, a little intimidated about it but I want to do this so I am going for it! :#

    Aww Kenda,
How it warms my heart to hear about your decision. Getting your form checked on the main lifts is the best decision ever!!!! High praise for you on that!
About that testosterone pit :) it sure can intimidate a girl ... Here are my impressions:
    1. Most of the guys there are much more intimidated by us.
    2. Unfortunately, half the guys there don't really know what they are doing.
    3. The meanest/ biggest looking guys there, are usually the nicest people ever and will always help if you ask
    4. I find that women are much more inclined to judge and frankly I enjoy my time in the weight room away from the "lettuce and jogging" group
    ( that was mean, sorry)
    5. Don't try to blend in, be yourself and stand out. You're special!!! I like to bring a much needed dose of pink :) pink shoes, pink stripe on my pants, pink headphone :) lol
    6. Don't think of it as a testosterone pit but more as "old school". At the forefront of any gym you will find these fitness machines, the newest ellipticals and treadmills ... All the newest trends trying to create a new image and revamp fitness. The weight room is way in the back because there's nothing new about it. Free weights and barbells will always be just that. That, makes them classic: they worked in the past, they work now and they will always work; they will outlast all other gym equipment because their power is real.

    Beast out!!!!

Haha that's awesome!! I have never been a girly girl so I don't really have any pink(now sometimes I wish I do) but it always makes me smile when I see women at the gym who still try to look cute. The gym needs some color!

Didn't get my water in yesterday, but i did stay under calories even with having to meet for dinner with my husband and the company that he works with executive team. While everyone is enjoying all kinds of appts, salads and main course i stuck to a garden salad with Shrimp cocktail and lump crab meat for dinner. I had to walk away when the deserts came out. They were so temping. I will take this as a small victory away from the scale.

I mentioned the following to some friends and thought I'd update my NSV... it was better than buying a new pair of pants....

"Back from my weight-loss / winter reward, as promised. No plans to leave MFP any time soon.

My 1st maintenance lesson – it is easier to stay disciplined for 1 week on a cruise v. 2 weeks.

It was horrible! The water was a pure blue. The sun kept the temperature at 77-80 degrees and at times would blind me. In short – I had to deal with some totally unfamiliar situations.

I did well in controlling my calories the 1st week and exercising. The ship had treadmills, weight-room, elliptical equipment and more. I gave the equipment a break week #2. LOL

My first post-reward recorded weigh-in will be next Monday.

Today it was back to business as usual - burned 410 calories doing 75 minutes of cardio exercises, including 60 minute walk.

I will admit there was a brief affair of sorts…but in the end I simply told her she’d find someone else. Here is what she looked like:

Upon our return, I turned to my wife and said: "Honey, I'm home! She meant nothing to me..."

This morning my eyes only feasted upon -

    Best wishes to all!

Danelutza19 - Thank you (it was a blast) and it's also great to be back on schedule (ok - I really could have stayed til the snow melts). Your meal looks awesome. Plan to have some fish, squash & broccoli myself today. I bought a small piece of wild-caught fresh salmon this morning to pan sear - haven't tried cooking salmon in years, as I normally stick with mild fish. Enjoy your day! :)

NikonPal, it looks like you had a great time! I'm so jealous!

I've had people ask me what I'm going to do when I hit my goal weight. I never really thought about it before...

Restricting my calories daily was just not working this time around and felt I was letting myself down in this group (I still show up to each weigh in and have them written in my calendar, I will not quit!), but I started 5:2 and feel like I have finally found a routine that works for me. It is a great feeling seeing myself continue with this forever and not be upset.

Don't quit and don't give up. There are lots of roads in this journey, you just have to find yours. Continuing to check in for weigh-ins is a good start. Small healthy choices add up.
And you are not letting anyone down, just keep on trying. You are worth it!

Hi Forevertoday! Glad you found something that works for you! IF is very beneficial health wise and many people enjoy doing 5:2 because it takes their mind of diets.
You know you're on the right path when you stop feeling like you're on a diet and think of everything as part of your normal life :)
    Congratulations!!!
As usual, when starting something new and exciting, take measurements and photos and evaluate 30 days later!!!

So far, I've lost 2 inches in my waist and 3 in my hips. Not too shabby.

Copy & paste from my daily post:

I'm feeling really blessed today. I have an amazing sister who just lost weight too. She started at about the size I'm at now and is currently wearing size 2-4. So when I started losing weight she gave me a ton of clothes that didn't fit her anymore, including work clothes. What's really neat about it is that these clothes pick up right where my old "skinny" clothes that have been sitting in my closet for 8 years left off. So she saved me from having to buy new clothes for a while. And this morning she texted me to tell me that she has another batch to send my way in the next size down if I want them. Such a huge blessing!

Adding to that, there was this one dress in the first bin she gave me that I've been dying to wear. When I first went through everything, it wouldn't even zip up. I'm wearing the dress today!! In fact, everything that she gave me now fits except one pair of jeans!
