I am almost done with my water challenge... but next time I will choose something more fun, I feel like I cannot see or drink any water anymore!

    Ladies! Good morning!

We have a new camper in our Cabin! Let's give a big Cabin 3 welcome to Pam (yes, now we have two Pams in our cabin) otherwise known as Prephred!
    Hey everyone,

I am working on getting back in shape. I had some medical problems derail me a while back and now I am getting around them. So onward and downward we go. =)

Sooo..... what did we do for our weekly challenge yesterday! And what are your plans for today?

Yesterday I did Sports Day. Went to my granddaughter's t-ball game and played catch (or at least attempted to, lol) with some of the girls. You know, playing catch with 4, 5 and 6 year old kids made me feel like a pro!

Today, I think I will do Family Day! My morning started out with a call from the Sheriff that cattle were out. What a way to wake up! Spent about 45 minutes getting them in, then late for work (about 10 minutes). So when I get off work, hubby, son and I will be spending a few hours fixing fence! Not the best idea for family day, but it will work!!

Make it a great day, ladies!

Hey ladies!! Saw on a couple of other threads (really, I'm not creeping) that a couple of the other cabins are coming up with names for their cabin. Something more "catchy" or "meaningful" than just "Cabin 3". It's time to chat it up, girls! Let's come up with an awesome name for our awesome Cabin 3! Any ideas?

    WELCOME Prephred!!!

I like the idea of naming the cabin too. What can we use? Maybe something fun?

I did sports day yesterday. Today healthy eating day. I posted my new recipe and plan to try it out for dinner along with some veggies on the side. It is a chicken pounded flat and cooked like a pizza with sauce and cheese on top.

I went to the doctor for my neck and they weighed me. The nurse said we need to subtract pounds for my shoes and jeans. I was not going to look but she wrote down a number I liked. The scale said a higher # but I was fully clothed. I really want to hit under 200 pounds this month I am sick of being over 200. I want onderland.

My doctor suggested some more protein and less carbs, No bread for one thing., That might be hard forever but I can limit the bread for a while. just eat my carbs from veggies etc.

    LOL on the creeping.

I have 2 challenges left Water and Family day. I am not sure how to do family day. Any ideas?

I won't be doing water day. I do not have a swim suit and it is going to be chilly here anyway. Our neighborhood pool is outside and that would be too cold.

I am frustrated with a poster in one of my other message boards. He is pushing his beliefs and almost saying my way is wrong. I hate people that do that. No one is wrong doing things their way.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I have 2 challenges left Water and Family day. I am not sure how to do family day. Any ideas?

You can do anything! As long as it is done with your family! Instructions for Family Day are below.
Family Day: one point for completing an activity with another family member. Should challenge your body or your mind. (60 minutes preferred)

Some ideas might be: Supper with your family, going to a ballgame (I know you did that for Sports Day, but is there another one coming up?), Taking a walk with a family member, maybe even talking on the phone with a family member. Get creative. You might even write letters or emails to your family or go through old family photo albums!
I won't be doing water day. I do not have a swim suit and it is going to be chilly here anyway. Our neighborhood pool is outside and that would be too cold.

For Water Day, you could do something like Michaela (spacecurly) did and meet and log your water goals on MFP. I think I read that someone watered their flowers or garden for Water Day. Again, be creative. As long as it involves "water", it will work (wonder if doing laundry all day would work for water day. Or family day, for that matter, lol).
I am frustrated with a poster in one of my other message boards. He is pushing his beliefs and almost saying my way is wrong. I hate people that do that. No one is wrong doing things their way.

You know, I get so irritated at people like that! There is a girl in my office that is like that. She was in a weight loss group for breast cancer survivors and she consumed 900 calories a day. She told me that I would never lose weight unless I did the same (I would starve at 900 calories per day!) She also scolded me for eating cookies once in a while. I used to get so upset at her, until my weight started coming off. I finally told her that I would lose my way and she could lose her way! Just keep doing what you are doing! You are doing awesome!

SavvyGurl0528 Thanks for the help on family day!!! For today's family day we are eating dinner together and watching my 13 year olds baseball game tonight. (There is almost always a game on the weekends)

    YEAH

Now the water day. Yikes. If it rains tomorrow I might go take a walk. Could walking around a lake and a place with waterfall's work? If so I can go to a local park and walk/hike.

LOL Just so you know, my water day was drinking 14 - 8 oz glasses of water. I have been trying to increase my water intake to 10-12 glasses. But I hadn't realized I went wild yesterday. =) I can't do sport day not unless I can get to the pool and I doubt that happens this week.

My community day was driving someone around who can't drive and is having problems with her family. So we ran her errands.

I love the idea of a cabin name! You had Thin to Win but what about Win to Thin?

Okay, Cabin 3, the Weekly Activities are posted for this week.

The weekly challenges for Sunday, June 9, through Saturday, June 15 are:

    Art Appreciation
    Pamper Yourself Day
Counselors Create an Activity Day - each Cabin Counselor creates an activity just for their campers
    Martial Arts Day
    Cabin Cleaning Day
    Family Day
    Pay It Back Day

Sooooo if the counselors get to create an activity, then that means I have to pick something. Oh, I am so not creative. Anybody got some ideas?

Make it a good week, ladies!

I just post some activities a came up with here again:
    - Take a picture of yourself day
    - challenge yourself day (take a step up in your exercise or go somewhere you normaly would not dare to go)
    - try something new (can be to a new class, a new shirt in a bright color when you only wear earthy ones, a dress or skirt instead of trousers, fruit or veggie you never had before)
    - meet a friend day
    - Quit something you normaly cannot live without with day
    - change your routine day (drink tea instead of coffee, take a bike to work etc)
    - NSV day (Non scale voctory day) - we are all loosing, so there sure as hell is something to be proud of, because even with just small changes there must be a change somewhere
    - vegetarian day (i love my meat, so even I suggest it I am not sure if I would like to have it come my way *lol*)

Love your ideas, Michaela! I especially like the "Picture" one. However, I am going to twist it a little. Let's call it "Update Your Profile Pic" day. I want everyone to update their profile picture with a current picture of yourself or something that "represents" or "tells a story" about you and explaination. An example might be, I work programming and conducting elections for my county. A flag would be a great representation of me. Another example might be that I love horses! So I could update my profile picture with a picture of one of my horses. How's that for a great weekly challenge?

yesterday I did Family day and had again a nice evening with my husband!
Since I am on nightshift this week, time together is precious to us!

Today I do some cabin cleaning and figured the sum of what I am doing has to be it!
Ironed a lot, did the upper floor windows and now I prepare to sell some books on ebay, so maybe someone else can enjoy them as much as I did!

Tonight starts my nightshift again and hopefully I will already find out if I have to do 6 instead of 4, kind of depending, weather the colleague who was to take over from me is declared healthy again or needs to stay at home a little longer!

    Sorry to me MIA

My son's baseball team was playing about 1.5 hours away from home we had early games which meant getting up at 4:45 am Sunday! YIKES that was bad. However his team as tired as they were pulled through and won 1st place!!!

I just changed my profile pic a few days ago but might do it again with my son and his trophy. it was a busy weekend and it was hard to use my cell in the sun to type posts and emails.

Sorry my numbers were late captain :blushing:
Next week I will send them on time. (no tourney either so I should be okay)

@Prephred, I saw your profile pic change! Cute kitty. Is it yours or are you just a cat lover, in general?

@spacecurly, thanks for the update. Glad you got to spend some time with your hubby! Sounds like you really cherish your family time.

Actually, if we all would keep the chatter up here or on the wall (like spacecurly just did), it would be much easier for me to send in the totals. I read these and then add the info right away on the spreadsheet. Of course, I don't have the morning and evening routines, but I do check diaries to see if you are under calorie goals and keep track of that.

@karendee4, no problem. You had us pretty well informed where you would be, so I kinda figured. Congratulations to your son and, by the way, nice looking kid! The girls in my youth group would be drooling!! ;-)

So, let's keep up the chatter, post your challenges for the day (morning and evening routines, too) and LETS COME UP WITH A NAME FOR THIS CABIN!

    You all are awesome!

I am a kitty lover from way back but the hubby is allergic to them so I get to visit my friend's cats and see. These pics I found on the web. I want to paint her someday but haven't worked up enough nerve yet to try. LOL been 15 years since I painted. So I am starting off slow.

I liked a couple of the names for the cabin but I also like Win to Thin too.

I did family day yesterday - hubby has been putting in a bunch of hours of work but we snuck off for a bit yesterday. I did Profile update today. Haven't decided on what I want to do tomorrow.. LOL I need to clean so that will probably be it.

I was able to get back on track yesterday after a weekend of bad eating habits. Usually the first day back is so difficult.

Awesome. I was never really a "cat person", and my youngest son is allergic, too, but we have had some strays on the farm (people dump them off all the time) that have really worked their way into my heart! I remember one summer, my Daughter-in-law and I bottle fed a litter of 6. It was an experience, to say the least. We would bathe them in the sink (didn't want to lick them, lol) and they loved it. We still have one of them around, a big old grouchy tom cat we named Adolph. He wanders to my brother-in-laws place quite often because he has milk cows and momma kitties, lol. We also had a blind one that did quite well on the farm (the dogs would look after her) until she had babies. The first litter she had, we couldn't find (and neither could she) but the second litter we managed to help her raise. She got hit by a snow plow one winter and the dogs were pretty upset. Of course, so were we. Then one year, we had a male kitten dumped off that grew up thinking he was one of the dogs. He would follow the horses (with the dogs) when we'd go horseback riding, would work cattle with us and hung with the dogs all day. Not sure what happened to him, but I do miss him.
I liked a couple of the names for the cabin but I also like Win to Thin too.

I like that name as well. sounds like Karen thinks it's good. Shall we name our cabin "Win to Thin"? I'm for it! We will see if spacecurly has an input and if not, we will go with it!

I know how that is! I think sometimes weekends are difficult. At least for me. At work, I can stay busy and don't have access to the "fridge", but when I am home, I know that the single ice cream bar my hubby couldn't eat is still in the freezer, or those chips are in the cupboard. Of course, then I tell myself "just one won't hurt"!

Glad to see you are back at it! Have an awesome week!

So, what is everyone doing for their weekly challenge today? And what did you do yesterday? Yesterday, I did "Cabin Cleaning Day". I cleaned out my freezer (grrr), which took ... forever! Some days I get so frustrated because my DH does not realize what it takes to keep the house running. He is not a "modern" man by any stretch of the imagination. I doubt he knows how to turn on the washer and if he had to do dishes, he would probably melt like the wicked witch in "The Wizard of Oz". So I get stuck doing the "household chores". I did, however, raise my boys to do some housework, so the two that are old enough have very happy women!

    Okay, end rant!

Today, I think I am going to do "Pay It Back Day". My co-worker has been away on vacation and she has a mountain of work that needs to be done. I am helping her all I can to get caught up. I can't actually do her work, but I can send faxes for her, answer the phone, make copies and do some of the basic work to get her caught up. So, that is my plan (working on it right now) for today's Weekly Activity.

C'mon ladies, chat it up. I want to hear about your day!
