Started June at 184.1, ended at 185.8, up 1.7 lbs, ouch. Some of that is July 4th beer and food but still +2.5 lbs in the last 2 months.
Almost same pattern as last year when I hit a low of 183 and then inched up to 191 by January.
Good news is I lost .5" on my waist. Actually had to buy some 34 pants because 36s are to big.
Goal for end of July is to get back to 183.
Congrats to everyone's successes in the last month.2 -
@loulamb7, I struggled with the same pattern last year. Lost 33 lbs during the top half of the year (came within spitting distance of 180) and then gained most of it back during the bottom half. I'm determined to break that pattern this year.
@bwmalone, at my current weight (191 lbs) I have a BMI of 27.4. I'd also have to be under 175 lbs to drop into a "normal" BMI range. A normal BMI is not really one of my goals but I do look at it.1 -
@d_thomas02 I know in my head that BMI is just a number - but it's nice to know that next time I have to visit the Dr, he won't be mentioning my being "overweight".
My mirror and clothes show a much better picture as far as BF% goes.. I'm sporting upper abs, and my spare tire has retreated into love handles. Still a fair amount of work to do, but very happy with the progress.2 -

Started July with 174, ended it with 172... so 2# down for the month, but the last few weeks have been a complete stall.
Goal weight is 150 for maintenance.
I'm on day 2 of a "back to basics" on logging and exercise. Should help break the cycle.1 -
Started at 185.8 and ended at 184.1, down 1.7. Not at goal but still down. Had a great/horrible weekend of eating out and drinking and missed workouts but back on track, at least with my eating. Goal for August is to get back to 183.

Not the change I was looking for. I know I've not been weighing my intake as accurately as I could (if at all) and just guessing at portion sizes so you can see how well that's been working for me. OK, time for some math.
The last two months or 63 days I've had a total deficit of 19,121 or 303 calories per day which should have resulted in a total loss of 5.5 lbs. Actual trend loss was 1.8 lbs. So I'm off by 3.7 pounds which means my total deficit is off by 12,950 calories or 205 calories a day.
I'm not in the mood this late in the season to start weighing everything I eat to the tenth of a gram so I'm going to add 200 calories to my current morning Adjustment of 100 calories (making the total Adjustment now 300 calories a day) starting today.

@dthomas02 great job on the continued downward trend.
I haven' checked in for 2 months. Progress is slow. Unfortunately trending up. Ended July at 184.1, trending now at 186.5. Have to get that trending down.
Have a wedding and business trip in October which are usually challenging. Goal for October is to maintain at 186.

Wasn't sure if this thread was still going. I am glad to see that it is. I am back trying to get back on track. Currently 223# want to get down to 200#, but can't seem to get back 220#. Need to switch things up a bit. Add me if you like, as well.3

I used to weigh in daily. Often a bad weigh in gave me the excuse to start eatting poorly. I am refocusing on another attempt and will not do weigh in on scales. Need a friend to motivate each other.1

I like weekly weigh ins.. tends to even out the daily fluctuations caused by water and food in the gut, etc.
When I have a bad weigh in, it reminds me to work harder.. I refuse to fail.0 -
While losing weight I weighed in weekly. Since hitting pseudo-maintenance I weigh daily and use Libra to track weight trend.0

A lot of guessing on intake this month, what with b-days and holidays. Looks like I guessed on the high side by 12,500 calories or roughly 450 calories a day.
Remember, I have that 300 cal adjustment built into my intake so that makes my guesses off on the high side by only 150 cals a day on average. I can live with that.

So the difference between Expected loss (a gain in this case) and my True Weight loss is 3.16 lbs or 11,060 calories or 395 a day. Remove my 300 calorie a day adjustment and it seems I've guessed high on my recorded intake by 95 calories a day and I'm OK guessing high as most people guess low on their intake by 10% or so.
I am starting to see a seasonal pattern here. I think it has to do with my FitBit. During the busy season of my lawn maintenance job (Spring, Summer, and Fall), my FitBit can show a TDEE anywhere from 3500 cals to 5000 cals a day. FitBits in general have been criticized for over guesstimating one's TDEE, I think in my case, by 300 cal a day during those months. During my slow season (Winter), I only getting a 2000 - 2500 cal TDEE and my FitBit is probably a much closer guesstimating my TDEE than during the busy seasons, so I probably don't need the adjustment during the winter months.
Having said all that, I do have a tendency to gain weight over the slow season... sometimes a lot of weight, particularly between Christmas and New Year's. Therefore the 300 cal adjustment stays year round. I really don't mind losing more weight than (or not gaining as much weight as) expected.

Weekly difference between expected and True is spot on, Monthly is darn close. Still eating too much so going to bump my intake adjustment from 300 cals/day to 325 cals/day.
