    Hi!
    Got here before midnite!
Gym, Kroger, nap, and lawn mowing. That was my day. LOL!!
Ed, I am enjoying the Vegan video's. Some better than others....about those carrot hot dogs. I've seen folks online rave about them...I just can't believe they'd be good. I mean, come on...its a carrot! Though I'd have to admit its healthier than these tofu hot dogs I've been eating!!
Ok, gotta get my stuff together...blood letting tomorrow morning, followed by quick gym trip, shower, and Marietta and I are going to Stone Mt, for lunch and relaxing coffee at the Stone Mt. Marriott. Have to do that...it has become a holiday tradition, so this time will be a farewell to Stone Mt. M's moving to Texas in about 2 weeks. She's excited and I'm happy for her and her hubbs. Texas just wouldn't be my pick of places to retire to, but M's from Texas, has family there, etc.

So there it is in a nutshell....today and tomorrow in under 250 words! LOL

    Later...

Oh, the potato salad was really good cold and 'aged'...no eggs in it of course. Mom always put egg in hers, and pickle juice!! And it was delicious!!

    Hi
I'm back from walking and One Thin Dime found one block from the house. The Temperature out the door was 81 degrees and I was sweating heavily. The humidity made it very uncomfortable :(

Howdy y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 74 with an expected high of 89 and 20% chance of rain in the forecast right after breakfast, which was leftover pulled pork with some baked beans. I put a light drizzle of sauce on the pork.

Still have towels and white to fold from yesterday's laundry, but they're not quite dry yet.

Cats have been fed. I've been fed.

    Hi Ed
I like the look of that plate of food, I should have, could have made deviled eggs as there are some hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator that I have been slowly using to make a egg salad sandwich for my mid day snack.

In this family we often put diced eggs into the Potato Salad.

    Have a Good Day
    Roger

I use a "recipe" from J's paternal grandmother for the potato salad. I'm glad that it includes chopped egg as I love chopped eggs in my potato salad, and my own favorite recipe, which is similar to his grandmother's, used them too.

His grandmother's recipe calls for potatoes, onion (raw), minced/finely chopped gherkins OR sweet pickle relish, chopped, hard boiled eggs (extra when I make it so J gets plenty of protein), and mayonnaise or Miracle Whip type salad dressing. A little salt and pepper to taste and that's it. Mine calls for a generous splash of mustard as well, and onions are optional in mine, but J prefers it without the mustard and definitely with the onions.

The plate of food was delicious, as was the small slice of blueberry pie later. I am glad I had only a small plate of food with not a lot of anything. I got to taste everything without pigging out.
    Hi Ed
As I was headed out the door I could see lightning in the distance and hear the grumbling of the thunder. Then as I was 2 blocks from home some light rain started falling.

We also do put Celery and Diced Onions as well as shredded Carrots depending on what is available. usually no Diced Gherkins or Sweet Relish, definitely no Mustard.

When I have Chicken or Pork that shreds easily I use Sweet Baby Rays BBQ sauce to taste.

Hmm... I do have a bottle of Sarsaparilla chilling in the refrigerator.

    Have a Nice Day

I have been holding off on the Lawn mowing until the heat wave breaks. There is a cold front moving in and Today is out, rain in the forecast and at Noon Lunch with friends at the Chinese Buffet, I just need to be selective with what I eat. Wish me Luck.

    Carrot Hot Dogs ? Yuck.

That is not my favorite thing having a needle stuck in me and blood being sucked out :(

Texas, Hot and Humid possibly worse than where You are depending on what part of Texas.

Howdy y'all. It's fantastic Friday! 79 with an expected high of 89 and 50% chance of precipitation.

Not much on the agenda for today. Maybe a short grocery run, and hopefully a nap, which I've missed the last two days!

A little bit of pulled pork left to eat and some potato salad, and over half the pie, as we have been eating relatively small slices.

Need to clean yesterday's cat bowls and put down their kibble. Their canned food was served a little over half an hour ago and they have all returned from first breakfast.

Got to Doc's office, would I please fill out new patient forms since I hadn't updated for years...grrrr. About half done, and it was time for the blood letting...
Poor little gal, she stuck me once, twice, and three times already...nada a drop into the tubes...so she goes to get another tech. All the while a student observer was hovering...so next gal, stuck me once, and then again, and finally she got blood. All that for less than 15 ml blood!!!! LOL!
All that took awhile, so no morning gym for 'ms stuck up'...:)
Need to go change clothes and get on the road to Marietta's. Hopefully lunch will go better than the morning 'procedure did'!

Dinner tonight was from Cafe Istanbul. All vegetarian. Falafels with tzatziki, hummus with Zatar bread for dipping, French fries (from the kids menu, but they were battered, seasoned fries), and a Turkish Kayak pizza with light tomato sauce, Mozzarella, and Feta cheeses.

    Good Morning
It might be OK to eat

As I look out the Window I see a Rabbit on the neighbors driveway. While walking I saw the usual suspects, Rabbits, Squirrels, Birds hear Owls and Woodpeckers, I also saw two smallish deer feeding in a school playground, not the first time for that location either.
    Top 10 failed McDonald's items.
I may have tried some of them in the past, I'll know once I watch the video

OK, I have had the McDLT and I liked it TBH. I also recall back in the 80s I stopped at a McDonalds off of the NY Thruway or maybe it was the Northway,on my way to the Worlds Fair in Montreal. They were selling Honey Chicken. The McLean sounds familiar. I also recall a McDonalds on the Garden State Parkway that sold Pizzas. Arch Deluxe rings a bell too.

    I Like Battered Fries.

I hate it when they do that, I have had to fill out forms due to updates being needed Too.

    Happy Saturday!
Off to the gym to walk and watch the soccer game. I'm going to miss these diversions after the final round on Monday.
Roger I used to draw blood samples...I think having the guy 'observing' hovering over their shoulders didn't help. Some times I can be a pill to stick...but yesterday was a fluke. Why would I complain? and just what good would it have done? These girls were doing the best they could under the circumstances.

Ed your dinner at Cafe Istanbul sounded wonderful. But no Turkey??? (LOL)
My lunch was interesting. I ordered the grilled tempeh. Last time it was on the menu, and I was talked out of eating it by the waitress AND Marietta (who is a picky eater, and a dedicated omni) Actually it was pretty good. A little nutty, something kinda sweet drizzled over it, with more of the same on the plate and also an avocado green drizzle on the plate which I never could identify. Also a hint of hickory? smoke from a bottle or a real fire? no idea. Wasn't a strong taste, just sorta 'there'. It was good. Glad I ordered it.
After we went to the hotel and had coffee/tea in the Starbucks kiosk. Lots of good chat time.

    Ok, time's running short...
