MONDAY, Aug. 27, 2018 (HealthDay News) -- Weight loss depends on eating fewer calories than your body uses up. But when you eat those calories could make a difference that you'll see on the scale.
An Italian study found that you can boost weight loss by about 25 percent just by eating 70 percent of each day's calories between breakfast and lunch, including a mid-morning snack, and the other 30 percent as an afternoon snack and dinner.

Howdy y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! 70 out there with an expected high of 90 and 10% chance of precipitation.

Nothing much on the agenda for today. Maybe a bit of housecleaning. Maybe not.

Need to clean up yesterday's cat bowls and feed today's cats. Lilo has already had her shot.
    Hi Ed
I watched the Fast Food video, Nothing surprising to me. My Youngest Brother worked in a bakery where amongst their customers was a fast food chain. The Chain would come in and cherry pick the Buns that were used in the commercial. Not a surprise to me, nor that the food You buy never looks like the item in the advertisement.
Just for the heck of it on occasion I would order something and tell them make sure it looks like the advertised item, Or if it were a Burger I would ask for Extra meat, that threw some of the cashiers for a loop. The Managers who I did know told them that is just his sense of humor. Some of them I knew from years of deliveries.

Housecleaning, Hmm..., Nah I think I will pass on that for today.

The way You said Today's cats makes it sound like they are different cats from yesterday's cats
    Sorry I couldn't resist

Yesterdays high temperatures in NJ at the hottest spot was reported as 99 degrees with most of the state being in the mid 90s :( My Crazy Brother went out and mowed around 11AM when it was already hot and humid.
Low carb chicken divan casserole recipe.
FWIW I do not recall ever having eaten that dish.
I wonder how tofu baked in pastry would work?
I have not seen that, I have seen whole fish pre sliced at the Chinese Buffets and I have seen Whole Fish cooked inside of a Thick Coating of Salt.

    Have a Nice Day

    Good morning!
Time for me to get moving..cats fed, I just finished eating a bowl of cereal, and I have an online seminar I will only get to watch half of. Hopefully it will be available on UTube for this afternoon. Going for another stretching class
and a bit of a walk on TM before I go gas the car, and then pick up about 8 items from Kroger....and it better include cat food!!! and apples...which brings me to a question I've been meaning to ask Roger.....have you looked for apples at Costco? Should be about the time to start seeing some early apples...just curious. I've been eating one with my lunch or dinner lately, and supermarket prices for apples is high. (in my elderly opinion)
Ok, 12 noon....gotta go for now, be back later...
    Hi Valerie
Cats ? I thought You only had one to feed ?
Only Organic Apples, It has been a while since I was at CostCo and then they had Organic and Non-Organic Apples. I like the ones in the plastic tray where each apple has it own spot which prevents bruising. I would think that farm stands should be selling local grown Apples any day now.
My Brother Already brought home Local Grown Nectarines a while ago.
IMO all the fruits and much of the foods are expensive anymore. or where the price has stayed the same the quantity has shrunk, example: used to be a 7 pack and is now a 6 pack of 97% fat free Hebrew National Hot Dogs :(
Answered my own question...no special apples at Costco. What they did have was all organic!, in the walk in refrigerated section. Hopefully in a couple weeks there will be some nice ambrosia's or KiKu, etc.

Dishwasher going, I've had my dinner and Tom E. will have his, soon as I post this :)

Other than that, afternoon went pretty well as planned. Stretching is progressing nicely...yet there's a long way to go! Today was particularly good as I was the only 'victim'. LOL!!

    See you in the morning!!
I don't look in the refrigerated section, The Local CostCo has fruits near the Bakery.

    https://www.marketwatch.com/story/gala-apple-is-about-to-knock-off-red-delicious-as-americas-favorite-to-grow-2018-08-27
Gala apple is about to knock off Red Delicious as America’s favorite to grow

The Gala variety may be the new top apple grown in the orchard, but the upstart Honeycrisp, being picked here in Washington state, is surging in popularity.

The Red Delicious will lose its reign as the most popular apple grown in the U.S. this year after more than half a century at No. 1.

The U.S. Apple Association, which advocates on behalf of 7,500 apple growers and 400 companies in the apple business, is projecting that the Gala apple will take over, as consumers prefer its “taste, texture and sweetness.” Gala already is the most popular variety sold in the U.S., followed by Red Delicious, according to the association.

In response to shifting preference, the U.S. will grow 52.4 million units of Gala apples in 2018, up 5.9% from a year earlier. Gala originated in New Zealand in the 1930s. One unit is 42 pounds of apples.

The Granny Smith, Fuji and Honeycrisp apples are expected to rank third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in U.S. production.

The Honeycrisp, created at the University of Minnesota only roughly two decades ago, is surging in popularity. Its production is up 21.8% to 23.5 million units this year. That puts it ahead of the Golden Delicious apple for the first time.

I do like all Three, Gala, HoneyCrisp and Red Delicious.

    Congratulations on a Successful Day

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! I've been up for ages but distracted by this and that and the other.

86 with an expected high of 88 and 30% chance of precipitation, which will probably hit right when I'm trying to meet some of the candidates at a small park/farm this evening (between 6 and 8) but if it looks too bad I may just not go.

Need to clean up yesterday's cat bowls. Cats have, of course, been fed by this time.

I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 82 degrees,Yesterday at 10PM it was still 88 degrees, it was not comfortable while walking due to the higher temperature the humidity. I did manage to extend my distance by picking up a Super Big Gulp filled with Ice and Diet Pepsi.
On the Outbound leg of my walk I had the Bleep scared out of me when I heard a large thump next to me and then a Deer ran off. I can only guess that the noise was the startled Deer kicking the house next to me as it scrambled up or off.

According to my Brother, anytime he gets on the scale and it does not say "You Only Put in a dime, One at a time" it's to the good.

I would go for a lower fat, less sweet dipping sauce. Probably ranch. But otherwise, aside from the breading on the chicken strips, this looks like a pretty decent and easy meal to make. And even with the breading, at least it's baked and relatively low fat!

Cabbage patch halibut. Fish roasted in a leaf. Interesting take on a cabbage roll perhaps? I suppose something similar might be done with lean beef, pork or chicken.

I just looked DragonCon up I see that last year 80,000 people were there. Yikes, How to see and do everything ?

If I said I am not as worried about Low Fat as keeping foods low carb. I have been reducing what I eat with breading as a result.
    Odd food laws.
I actually watched this the other day when it caught my eye as a link on the side of a YouTube You posted.

Maybe something other than Halibut for me as I am not a fish eater beyond a couple of specific preparations.

After watching the Riblets Video I see that I was wrong. They do appear to be real ribs. Why not call them Beef Short Ribs ? My guess is that they are a different cut.

    Enjoy The DragonCon

I'm back home from walking no cents. The Temperature out the door was 76 degrees,Yesterday at 10PM it was still 86 degrees, it was Sort of comfortable while walking due to somewhat lower humidity and a gentle breeze.
The Temperatures did not drop as low overnight as was forecast, I suspect due to the low clouds. I could hear low flying aircraft and sometimes I could see the glow through the clouds of the lights on them.

    Hi Valerie
Hopefully the sore neck and back pass quickly for O.

I'm with You on recovering, However I did my recovering today while walking. To explain as I walked I worked up a bit of a sweat so I took advantage of town benches along the roads and a chair in front of a eatery to sit and let the gentle breeze cool me down. Does that make me lazy or ???

I also wandered into the back yard to see if any of the latest crop of Raspberries survived critters eating them, Wow, I actually got as many this morning in one go as I had managed to get up to now from earlier crops.

You may or may not be surprised to hear that to my Brother the word Milk does not belong on non dairy things such as Almond Milk. As for Me, I'm indifferent to the issue. I also recall as a youngster in grade school that in Iowa at the time Margarine could not be colored so it came white and had a coloring packet You could work into it to color it

I have tried the non dairy and they just were not the same to my taste buds.

I wondered if it was a typo or if you had added another cat

I'll bite, Why Ask about Trader Joe's ? is it a new store in Your area ?

    Anyhow, Have a Nice Day
