Howdy all y'all. It's soggy Saturday! 100% chance of rain, and fairly cool temperatures expected today. I don't plan on going anywhere if I can help it. We're glad for the soggy day!

    OK!!
Looks like I watched video's read articles, and then..just didn't comment. I'm listening to a series about Herbs, Mushrooms, etc. Fascinating stuff! I've been known to eat some weird stuff...like cat tails that grow in ponds, or the flowers of that orange lily that grows along railways or country roads...etc.

Stayed home today! No gym...just me an my recumbent bike here at home. Visited with my friend, Laundry. did a little cooking, etc. and of course there was Tom E. And yes Roger he has access to the screened porch 24/7. Yet he hangs out on the roof rain or shine. (until he's hungry, then he comes to the door and yells!!! LOL! Also there was a short nap.

At this point, the kitchen is cleaned up, meals are planned for the next 2 days... and I'm ready to crawl into my bed and play games on the iPad. Ted beat me at our Scrabble game and started a new game, so I have some thinking to do. And as always a game or so of Suduko...maybe a jigwaw puzzle, and somewhere along that list of games I fall asleep. (usually with the lights on and ditto for my glasses!!)

Rained a lot here...over 2 inches today. Weather folk say more tomorrow and Monday... killjoys! No, we really needed the rain. Maybe not quite this much all at once...but will take it!!!

I'll try to check in earlier tomorrow...oh, and I had a Mega Millions ticket...won nothing. But still have a ticket to cash in from last week...I understand somebody in I think California won the big Mega Millions jackpot...oh, well!!!

    Later...

    Hello Ed
You may be glad, I'm not so sure I like our forecast for the upcoming week.
Currently they are predicting rain on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Tuesday being the day I have to drive through rush hour traffic for the pre-admission testing and little ole me not having driven through rush hour traffic in the 90s :(
The last job I had that started in the mid 90s and lasted 16 years I could leave home at 9:50 AM and be at work for the 10 AM open and the return home was after the rush hour so I am not looking forward to rush hour in the rain.

Hopefully You did not have to go anywhere.

    Hello Valerie
There are a lot of plants that are edible but not eaten normally. Something I had not thought about however is with Cattails You would only want to eat the ones grown in clean water.

Weird Cat, I do wonder if the hanging out on the roof is a hunting thing to locate prey ?

Hey Roger, quick note about your upcoming epidural...don't sweat it! I've had 2. First one birthing Ted...liked not having the mental fog for weeks, hair loss, etc. So, when I was up for my hysterectomy, I requested it over general anesthesia. Neither times was it uncomfortable. I'd do another if it was possible. Totally over conventional general anesthesia. :)

5 parts of the cat tail plant are edible. I've cooked and eaten them all, except the brown 'ripe' cattails...which I understand can be beaten/blended into flour.

I rather liked the 'hippy' settlement until I saw the pix with snow on the ground. Snow = cold, right? Nope not for me!!

Now, back to reading and watching....but, looking at the weather, now would be a 'last chance' to head for the gym without a Mother Nature outdoor shower. (I've already had one shower today...and it was a planned event in my shower!! :)

Thanks for the encouraging words, I know that lots of people have them. Just mentioning that for pain makes (made) me wonder how much pain is involved ? Especially after mention that they would be done for two days. Still better than narcotics IMO, Including all but excruciating pain then maybe an opioid ?

You country Girl knowing 5 parts are edible. If I had had to guess I would have thought two parts, Stems and roots

Agreed, pass on the snowy weather if possible. If I could I would be a snowbird, South for the winter and up north of here for Summer

I have a feeling I shall be getting wet Tomorrow when I go for the testing. Of course the day I could stay dry is Wednesday so the test is scheduled for Rainy Tuesday :(

Hi... rainy Monday...sunny morning? So far its been 'both'
Got into the gym just in time to avoid getting wet and worked out just long enough to stay dry upon leaving! Love it when that all works out!

So, from the time I started this, to now...I ate my lunch and still hungry...made a salad...made salad dressing, brewed a cup of my mushroom coffee, moved everything..computer, phone, water, and my dressed salad to the front room so I could watch the rain.

So, who's gonna run right out and get the 3 in 1 breakfast machine?? My excuse is not the rain, but a total lack of counter space!!

And then there is Emmy. Still not convinced that I need Mickey D's in my life. There's one across from the gym, but they don't need to keep the lights on for me!! :)

Roger should be home from his tests by now. Hope the traffic was not as bad as he anticipated, and that the rain held off til he was either out of traffic, or better yet home!!

Not only did Spam and canned ham have those opening keys, but so did the little tins of sardines, smoked oysters, etc. Some days I miss those little keys!!

Ok, salad is consumed, coffee agout half, but needs a temp boost, and then I'm pretty sure I feel a nap coming on!

    Later.

Ok, watched the coffee vid. The mushroom coffee is what I am drinking. It isn't 'weak', I'm guessing that they filled the big mugs with hot water and added the coffee mix. Directions say heat eight ounces of water...8 oz is about half of those mugs. LOL! I like it the coffee. And the mushrooms are a nice addition to my 'diet'.
So I give the Irish Coffee judges a C- !! Folgers in a jar is not exactly a great coffee, and I'd for sure walk off before I had anything to do with durian coffee. Though I've eaten durian, once,. The smell is terrible, but the fruit itself really doesn't taste bad.

and all that said, I'm about to head for my nap! (and yes, I can drink coffee and sleep, usually!)

    Hi
Currently It is 70 degrees outside. The predicted high for today is normal. The Monday rain that fell was not as bad a forecast from what I could see. Tuesdays rain made an appearance overnight and currently a light rain is falling. I dread driving in it for the Pre-Admission testing today, Rain, Snow or Low visibility seems to turn NJ drivers into Cretins. Some Drive their regular speed and other slow way down and as a result bad weather days have a plethora of crashes all over.

The one benefit of the rain we have had is that nothing has had to be watered so far this year, Knock wood that it stays that way the water bill amount is what I consider obscene.

How is the Domino's, darn for some reason from yesterday to this morning I have lost the z key used in the word Pizza, I had to copy and paste to get the word here. :( The other keys surrounding it all work, weird.
