Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! It's pretty nice out for the moment, so a walk is in order shortly. I had a couple of beef brats, boiled eggs, and whole wheat, high fiber, low carb, buttered bread for breakfast. Just need to finish this mug of tea and I'll be off.

One of J's aunts passed away suddenly (they think heart attack) Friday and the family is in an uproar. J wants to help calm my father in law, and could do that better in person, but we both fear the danger of going up there to Kentucky right now. I am sure we will talk more about that later today but I am standing firm that it would be a bad idea to go. In any case, I would not be going, as one of us has to stay here with the pets.

The sugar gliders are doing well and seem happy together for the most part. We would not have them if J hadn't insisted on rescuing Bonnid and Clyde several years ago, and when Bonnie died suddenly we felt Clyde would do better with another companion. Luckily, Remus was in a kind of bad situation and feels like another rescue too. I think that sugar gliders should never have been made into pets, but we will take care of these. They would not survive returned to the wild.

    Out to walk!

    Hi Ed,
It has been a beautiful weather day. I'm guessing when I go online to fb, I may be seeing more of the 'flowers on my walk' theme. I enjoy seeing them! I do believe the Botanical Gardens are going to re-open, it was on local news, what part I missed was when! (and I know I can look that up)
I am way behind on my daily exercise today. I got in 10 minutes on the recumbent while Maya and Ted went for their walk...but that leaves another 20 minutes to do something. I've tried walking with the dog, but she just wants to sniff, pee 3 times, and hurry home to eat!! Oh, well. She's a good dog...just not a walking kind.
Sorry to hear about J's aunt. In these times, they will be lucky to even be allowed a funeral. And that is really sad for the families.

I need to go to the kitchen...intention is to find something called dinner!

Well, my walk this morning was very nice. I took a couple of side paths and saw some geese and ducks in a pond, and found another shady path or two. I ended up going a bit over 4 miles. On FaceBook you can see bloomers AND wildlife from this walk, on separate posts.

For dinner I made some barbecue sauced chicken thighs, yellow rice, peas and carrots, and chili beans.

I gave J most of the yellow rice and all of the chili beans, for a tasty vegetarian dinner. I split the rest of the food into two meal plates, each having one large chicken thigh, a nice serving of peas and carrots, and a small serving of yellow rice, as it was the bad carb.

Here is the dinner plate I ate.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous moist Monday! I just got back from my walk, as it is supposed to get rainy later in the day, but with the chances for rain starting to get a let greater late this morning, and then on into the afternoon. So I gave Lilo her Monday morning fluid treatment, inhaled breakfast (ham, boiled eggs, toast) with a mug of tea and headed on out. It's pretty humid out there from overnight rain.

Maybe some light housework today. I will probably eat my other chicken thigh for lunch, though I may change my mind and save it for supper.

    Hey Ed,
Lunch time. While at WF on Saturday I picked up a container of Mock Chicken Salad. Its 'good', but somewhere along the way the changed the recipes, cuz it used to be excellently tasty. Still better than 'Trying' to make it myself!

Humidity is thru the roof...rain on the way...must be nap day!

Its none of my business, but I do hope J is staying in GA. But, if he goes I hope he can avoid being infected with CV19. while offering support to those who are in need.

I'm off to the 'net' to see you walk pictures for the day! I am loving your walks.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! I did my walk first thing, in the cool, damp air. Today I walked the length of the nearby lake (it's not a big lake) just to see where that walkway ended. I had to pass a family of Canadian geese (stealing jobs from local geese? - LOL) twice, as they were on the walkway past the lake.

I don't know what else I will do today, but a nap would be nice. They were doing some noisy construction or destruction up the hill yesterday and a nap would have been impossible. Kiara was all oun of sorts over it, and the thunderstorms later in the evening didn't help her get sorted!

    Hi Ed!
I'm sure you saw my post! Can you tell I'm excited...but oh so hesitant too.I feel like that little dog in the pack of sheep cartoon that was posted a few days ago....stuck in the middle!

Geese..noisy, messy, loud, and some times down right mean! :)

I as out early too...at Publix. It wasn't as busy as it has been these past weeks. I wonder if people, old people, have gone back to shopping in their usual time slots???

This affternoon turned out to be quite nice. Warm, not not, breezy, and clouds only came and quickly tiptoed elsewhere.

I need to think about dinner. I have a TON of vegetables..and I'm thinking a a nice big veggie sandwich might be just what I want. Onion, whatever Bell pepper I've been using, radishes, carrot stips, ripe big tomato, etc...all on some nice center slices of a bread bole I bought this morning from Publix bakery. oh, and some vegan mayo too!

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful wet Wednesday! Cool and damp right now, and I heard a raindrop hit while I was eating my breakfast. I will take a (probably needed anyway) day off from walking.

Perhaps a bit of light housework today instead.

    Good Morning Ed,
I'm going to make another run to the gym today. Partially b/c I need to get back into the habit, and I have my mental list of machines I want to use. We'll see.
Looks like we're going to have a window of clear weather this afternoon, and about that same time, temps in the mid 70's. I could like this day!!!

And its Trash nite, so there's that. I think tonite will be mac & cheese over cauliflower. So lunch will be big fat sandwich of fresh veggies.

I have a cat tugging on my shirt...he has food and water, has been outside, and I'm guessing some little cat needs actual attention.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! I've had my walk, and then got distracted by a FaceBook glitch and trying to fix it. I really suspect it is a problem with their new format, which I am trying. I may have to go back to classic format and see if the glitch still happens.

Not a lot on the agenda today.

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! It's cool and rainy now, but I did get my walk in before the rain, so it's all good.

I came home and saw that they have started working to increase the drainage under the road at the creek, which should mean that, once that bit is done, they should be able to finally fill in that blasted ditch across the front of our yard and install proper conduit for drainage through our yard. I am SO glad I complained to the mayor when they installed that ditch.

One of the sidewalk work monitoring people claimed that they would have had to fix it anyway because of similar complaints along a nearby road, but I know that the squeaky wheel gets grease and have my doubts about that. I rather suspect that if I and my next door neighbor hadn't started making noise about it the enormous eyesore of a ditch, full of sharp rocks, would have been a permament part of our front yards.

Not a lot on the agenda today. Depending on the noise level from the construction, a nap may not be possible unless I can find my earplugs.

No big plans for Memorial Day here. Maybe slow cook a couple of chicken thighs and make a small amount of pulled chicken for barbecue.

    Hey Ed!
Hope you were able to catch a nap today!
After my nap, I went outside to sit in the sun...it would have been great, but Tom E. was a pest. I just wanted to so soak up some warm sun, and read on my phone...ha! I didn't have a chance!
    Tomorrow, right?

Olivia's 16th birthday is today. She had a smallish group of girls over, other parents were still sheltering their kids, but the girls had a great time. They were all friends of Livi's from color guard, and came with their flags and wooden rifles. Dinner came form Livi's Favorite restaurant, Chic F La. and one of her girl friends made a red velvet cake topped with chocolate dipped strawberries on top. (Livi has loved those strawberries since she was a tiny tot. We used to have 'tea parties'..and that always required a trip to Publics to get the chocolate strawberries, and what ever else they had in the case)

I went to the gym again today. Taking the weekend off, and then back at it on Monday. Still not many folks at the gym. I haven't asked why, so I don't know if some people cancelled their memberships, or are just still leery about being out and about. Hopefully the crowds will return soon.

I saw on the news tonite that POTUS has decided to open the churches, and if the states balk, he will override the governors and open them himself. Many of the churches themselves do not want to open yet.

Quiet at home weekend for this holiday....like I've been out except to hit the gym and once weekly grocery run...Fried about half a block of tofu tonite, intention was to eat some and save some....so much for plans...they were so good, I ate the entire bunch. (this little piggy went to market....etc)

Its Saturday, its overcast, nice comfy temp....and Ed is missing? Betting you're out walking! A great day for that!
I'm trying to get my coffee and oatmeal eaten before Ted gets back from the grocery. Because that is when the cleaning will begin...and nothing irritates me more than not getting my coffee before the activities begin.
Hope your day is a good one. Not going to the gym this weekend. But, I'll be there Monday!
Using that 'recumbent elliptical' is so much 'friendlier' for my knees. If I was ever to purchase a piece of equipment, that would be my choice. But...I've seen the price tag! YIKES!

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfactory Saturday! It was very nice out, while I did my walk past the lake this morning. There were even a few men fishing, and I saw a young man exercising on a dock across the lake. His physique looked, shall we say, SLIGHTLY better than mine...at least. I saw 3 families of Canadian geese at the lake, and two more families a mile or so away from the lake, near home.

Not a lot an the agenda today. I got back from the lake right at 8:00 and they had alread resumed construction work out front.

Howdy all y'all. It's sumptuous Sunday! I think instead of a walk, I think I am going to try to hit Kroger at 8:00, with the hope that everyone else is either still asleep or getting ready for church at that early hour.

    Housework on the agenda today.

    Hey Ed,
Good Morning. I've been watching gardening video's....like I'm gonna garden?. (only if I cut down trees, and even then it would be in the front yard???) Not likely on any score! but I still enjoy watching.

Noing 'nothing' today. Though I did notice a pan on the stove with lentils cooking. :) Cooked lentils, mixed with a spicy tomato based salad dressing while still quite warm..the lentils absorb some of the dressing, and makes for a fun salad base. Will be using up the last of my fresh salad kinda veggies.

I'm finding ears of corn for 50 cents an ear, or less. And its quite tasty corn. I love corn on the cob, or most any other way...but on the cob is my fav. If you're a fan, hope you found some at Kroger this morning.

I think its nap time, and then.....shrug we'll see what happens!

Funny...I'm cooking the afore mentioned lentils, right? and they're probably old, so I wanted to add a pinch of baking soda...and it wasn't in the cabinet??? so I've been junting the house to see if I stashed it somewhere. Ted saw me looking in the 'grocery shelves' and asked. He tried to help, and no help. So he just came in from the garage. Seems he found the small box with my gardening stuff...oooooh, yeahhh, I made up a batch of tomato food when I planted the little tomatoes... Next Easter I'm going to hide my own dyed eggs..

Howdy y'all. It's magnificent Monday! We have a 50% chance of PM thunderstorms, with a high of 84. Not a lot on the agenda today, and I am taking another day off from walking. Breafast was scrambled eggs with cheese, and low carb, high fiber toast.
