    Hey Ed!
Hope you got out for your walk today. So far I haven't done anything other than drive in to Decatur, and this afternoon and after nap, I sat outside in the sun. Felt good.
I'll wait and do the last walk with Maya tonite so I can see Venus at her brightest she'll be all year, and next to a crescent moon, it should be really nice. (I learned all this on the news tonite with Glen Burns.) I an a total illiterate when it comes to the planets, stars, constellations, etc. I do recognize the moon though!! :):)

Tomorrow is shopping day for this old senior, so I need to be giving some thought to what I want to eat next week, and what I'm nearly or totally out of....

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! It's going to be a hot one with 10% chance of precipitation. That 10% is right at the time I usually walk, so I may get wet. I won't melt.

Not a lot else on the agenda today. Eduardo has a pot of chili started in a Crock Pot, for my lunch, dinner, and another meal or two.

    Hi Ed,
Went to Kroger today! It was good...picked up a couple things that I prefer over Publix...was shocked at the frozen vegetable cases. It was down to a few packages of peas, and a few of corn, from the Kroger brand....there were a very few other packs of various stuff, like I saw a bigger package of carrots, and one or two of riced cauliflower...etc. No TP or Paper towels, a few individual boxes of Kleenex, my Seltzer Water...only 2 of the flavor I like, so I brought those home with me! Also got the last two bags of the Smart Brand Popped Corn...lots of fresh veggies, and two of the biggest Jicama bulbs I've ever seen!! LOL! I mean like a flattened-ish cantaloupe size!!!
Any way, I've washed the radishes and the kale, its nearly dry, so I will put those in bags and into the refrigerator they'll go and off to bed I'll go! :)

Should be nice today for sitting...not so much for working outdoors. Nice breeze, etc. hope to wake in time to sit outdoors for a bit this afternoon.

Looked at the Venus/crescent moon last night, then when we got home, Ted too his binoculars out and when I looked I was sure we were having an earthquake...my view of Venus was shaking and shimming all over the place!! LOL!! He said one night he'd set up his telescope. That could be fun.

Later...mine eyes are closing and I am sleepy..zzzzzzzzz

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It is nice out for the moment, but supposed to be very rainy later, with a possible thunderstorm. I might be able to slip a walk in before the deluge though. We'll see.

Not a lot else on the agenda. The lawn guys have already been here and just left.

Howdy all y'all. It's thrilling Thursday! 20% chance of precipitation with an expected high of only 64. It sounds like a lovely day. I will see how it looks at my usual walk time and may go for it.

Supplies of some items are dwindling, but nothing is yet critical enough to make me want to run to the store. Steak and eggs for breakfast, with a small bowl of cereal on the side for my carbs.

I didn't get a nap yesterday, but maybe today.

Yup, I did it...I missed yesterday. (I almost wish I could have really missed yesterday, or had some easy, simple way to delete it...)
I read your post yesterday, looked at my weather app, and decided I would be able to get to Decatur before the rain...and 'maybe' home again as well. You know of course about the best laid plans of mice and men? (I must have been a mouse, cuz it all went awry.) Got to the shop about 10 minutes early, and the shop was closed. ????? I thought. Waited. No Jimmy. Tried calling, the call rolled over to the shop..which was of course closed. ETC..I finally got a text to him. Long story short, not sweet, and sad-ish (ish cuz it could have been worse) His email app wasn't set up correctly? and I was not notified that Jimmy was taking a sabbatical from work. I did finally get to talk to him. He's (god love him) worried about catching covid 19, and he has, but can't tolerate working in a mask, and his husband wants him to wait this thing out, etc, etc. long story shorter, for the first time in 40 years, yep 40, either Jimmy or his cousin Jack, have not had their fingers in my hair! I may have to find a new 'hair do-er'...gives me a headache to think about it, not to mention a pretty hefty spoonful of anxiety. (and I really seldom do anxiety.). Can't get my head to move forward and think like a logical person. Just stuck in a loop.
My weather app, says the rest of the day will be dry. We had our early morning rain already, so grab your back pack and head for the store, and your walk! Roger used do that, and now you...I'm about to be jealous! I really can't...no sidewalks. bummer.

    Ok, here comes the sun....

Here comes the sun? It's all right...

Howdy all y'all. It's fabulous Friday! We should have a high of 73, sunny, with no chance of precipitation. Sounds like a good day for a walk! I have actually done my 5 days for the week already, but no reaso I can't go for number 6. I do usually end up taking a day or two off because of weather anyway but this week has been great for walking. The weather forecast for the weekend looks good for it too, so I may actually get 7 in a row, which is a bit unusual. I do need to take a day off now and then though, I think. But I suspect the weather will enforce that eventually whether I want to or not.

Not a lot on the agenda today. We may do another in home pizza and theatre "evening out" tonight. And I can open another bottle from my dwindling wine collection. I think I will be more than ready to order another crate when our financials get back to normal, but don't think I well run out in the interval. I definitely have room for a crate or more in the wine rack now though.

With chicken suddenly scarce, a turkey breast sounds rather nice about now. I may have to look into that when I next go to market. I can slice that for dinner, or sandwiches, make turkey salad, turkey soup, etc. I am sure Eduardo can come up with some interesting ideas.

    Hey Ed,
Yep, I'm really late tonite! Sorry. What promised to be a stressful day, wasn't.
I've been trying to get my next 90 days worth of scripts, and it just wasn't working. I seem to recall I had this issue last year after my physical....Dr. says she'll send scripts to Costco...Costco never gets them, and tries to contact Dr....and back and forth like a ping pong game. But, this time I was really just 'over it'...and suggested to the pharm. tech, that I only had 2 days left of my BP meds. Guess I'd have to do without until they got it all straightened out. Amazing how quickly that happened! And Costco was Johnny on the spot getting the scripts filled too!! So, that was about blown over when I was at my computer and hearing this strange weird noise...sorta an alarm of some sort....but very quiet...well, it was my alarm company key pad. Message about my long alarm not rec'd???? Don't remember exactly...anyhow, I looked at the gizmo in the laundry area, and the lights were not flashing correctly...so after messing with it for awhile I told Ted we would sleep with one eye open. It seems to be ok today. And the key pad for the furnace...showed the furnace was set for 70 degrees...actual temp was 68, and it had a message I'd never seen before...said 'Recovering' . I asked from what....no answer, hahaha....I bumped up the temp, the furnace kicked on, and later I put it back to 70 and all was well. Sure glad that didn't occur in January, right??
So after going to bed in turmoil,, the day went much better than expected. :)

Wasn't sure what I'd find at Costco...parking lot was full...but I got right in, some of the area's were blocked off right after the entrance, and them it was all normal. Took maybe 5 minutes to get my scripts, and I was out of there, but first I thanked the tech for all they had done, and how much I appreciated them being at work. Gal got a really big grin on her face and thanked me... so I think I may have made her feel a little less stressed???, I hope so.

Ted fixed a stir fry dinner for both of us tonite, AND he did the dishes!!! Liked that a lot!

So, all in all its been a good day!

Hope you got your walk in. It was a lovely afternoon. Sat outside for awhile this afternoon. Tom E. came to sit on me, but after awhile he tired of that, and wandered off to a sunny spot for a bath.

From what I saw of the news tonite...looks like people in general are at the end of their patience. If they don't watch out, they'll be right back on Shelter in Place restrictions. I'm past thinking this is not so bad, to I don't want to have to start this all over again. And I'm glad Mike Pence got called out for not wearing a mask at Mayo's this week. The guy who's supposed to be getting all this Covid 19 stuff 'together'...went mask-less. Big no-no! Said he didn't know masks were required....like look around man..EVERYBODY had on a mask....everybody!

Ok, that's it for tonite. Hope you and J enjoyed your dinner and night at the theater...(on TV I'm assuming :) )

Howdy all y'all. It's satisfying Saturday! It's a little chilly out there right now, but supposed to get to 82 this afternoon! As it will be a sunny day, I will try to get a walk in after I feed the cats.

Oh, he KNEW masks were required, but chose not to wear one. I wish the people at the clinic had grown a pair and refused to let him in without one. That is what SHOULD have happened, vice-president or not. They had the authority to refuse him entrance for not following protocol but chose the easy way out.

    Good Morning Ed
Looks like a nice day outside! Helps make the day better.
Cleaning day, and so far, Ted hasn't interrupted my morning coffee by cleaning early...(read running vacuum, etc.) But I figure time is very limited!

Maybe some laundry today after the 'great cleaning brigade' has done its damage. :)

I miss calculated (didn't check the refrigerator before I went to the store)...and I need fruit. A small shriveled apple, and some week old grapes. And an avocado, if you call them fruit...

Ted made a dandy veg with tofu stir fry. It was delicious. I'll have to encourage to cook more often.

Well I got my walk in, making 7 days in a row! Then had an early lunch and headed to market. I started at PetSmart and got enough wet cat food to last through the end of the month, and some kitty litter, so that ate up $74.52. They didn't have the kibble I needed for the princesses, but I ordered that online at the same price, with free shipping.

Then on to Kroger, to get other things we needed. $135.71 later I headed home to unpack, and put groceries away. I didn't quite get everything I wanted, but can make a Publix run tomorrow, or maybe even Target, or Ingles, to get the bit that I still need. I got all the items that were nearing critical, and a few that weren't there yet but were dwindling so a slight delay on what we still need is no big deal. I feel confident that we can get them before we run out.

I even got chicken, as Kroger had plenty! I may still look for a turkey breast when I go back to the store though.

Howdy all y'all. It's superlative Sunday! We are looking at a high of 86 today with no chance of precipitation. I may take a day off from walking, other than what I walk looking for that last bit of groceries. But maybe not. The fresh air is kind of calling to me, though my legs and ankles might be saying enough is enough. I will listen to them again in a bit and make up my mind. As J reminded me last night, it's easy to find an excuse to NOT walk...

Breakfast was scrambled eggs wth cheese and sausage crumbles, bacon, and one small biscuit with butter, and blackberry all-fruit spread.

Hi Ed...can you hear me laughing??
I started here about an hour ago....read your post, then decided to quick watch the Emmy post making Japanese candy...which led to an Emmy vid. about frying dandelions, and on to a Hard TImes video tribute to a woman named Clara.....and you can see why I'm laughing.!!! So, easy to get totally lost once you enter the danger zone called 'Internet'...yikes

Sunny and about 72 degrees at my house. I should get dressed and get my bones outside now.
Hope you get out for at least some fresh air. J was right about how easy it is to talk yourself out of going for a walk....When I worked at the gym, I had 8 hours to decide I didn't need to exercise, and I was exhausted just watching everyone else doing their workouts...:(
Yesterday afternoon I took my cup of tea outside and sat in the sun..felt soooo good, but it wasn't as good for me as a walk would have been!!

I think I may just take a swipe at the laundry, sometime today.

Looking at the pix from one of your video's ...and I see multiple layers of bread, with avocado, perhaps cheese, and something? not sure what, also tomato slices.....I NEED to watch that!

I also need to harvest two ginormous heads of Lion's Mane mushrooms that are growing here on the dining room table! I sure hope you can't OD on them, cuz there are days worth growing now. I see mushroom ragu in my very near future. :)

I got a walk in today, and I did get to Target and Publix for the rest of the groceries. If my legs feel the same in the morning as they do now, I will take a break tomorrow and let them (and my feet) have a rest. I am drinking extra PowerAde this evening as my legs were feeling a bit crampy when I got up from my nap.

Tuna casserole is in the oven for my dinner, and J will be having leftovers from last night's Fiesta scalloped potatoes, and the brocolli gratin I made. I had baked chicken thighs last night to go with small servings of both of those, and J just had larger servings of the two casseroles.

My tuna casserole for tonight has peas and carrots in it, and I consider it to be a complete meal in one casserole.

I did get a Butterball turkey breast roast at Publix today but haven't put it in the refregerator to thaw as yet. I may let Eduardo stew over some ideas on just what to do with it. It can sit in the freezer in the interval.

Howdy all y'all. It's marvelous Monday! It is supposed to be pretty warm today, with 20% chance of rain. I will probably take the day off from walking and let my legs and feet rest.

Maybe I can do some kind of upper body exercise at home today, just to get something in. Or maybe just some housework and call it exercise! If I try to do much in the house, the cats try to help and I can end up rolling on the floor, laughing, instead of whatever exercise I was trying to do.

Is there an olympic medal for rolling on the floor laughing?

May the fourth be with you!

    Welllll, here I am again..late.
I read your post, got sidelined by a food video...which I had for dinner...pasta, garlic peas, and some vegan margarine and a sprinkle of vegan Parm cheese.

Ted and I went to Home Depot and picked up a hosta, 3 new pots for orchid repotting in a few weeks, bag of 10-10-10- fert. and one of mushroom compost. Oh, yes, why we went to HD...2 very small tomato plants, one hosta, and 2 marigold plants to keep the tomatoes company. :) Yes, I don't do it anymore, but I was always a big fan of companion planting in the garden.

So, Ted dug the holes, and I plunked the plants in the amended dirt, Ted positioned the tomato cages, and dug and planted the hosta. Gardening done for the day!! And a nap to boot!

Rolling on the floor in fits of laughter is in my opinion a legal Olympic Sport!!! Takes a lot of struggling and body weight exercise to remove ones self from the floor for starts......:)
I have been telling my watch on Saturday mornings that I am doing 'functional training'...I dare them to disagree!

Supposed to be warm again tomorrow, and then...back into the 60's for daily highs for a week!! Hope my tomatoes forgive me. Its not the summer heat that they had anticipated! :)

See you in the morning....post my early morning solo trip to the grocery store.

Howdy all y'all. It's terrific Tuesday! Another warm one predicted, with 60% chance of PM thunderstorms. I may be able to squeeze a walk in. We will see...

Otherwise nothing major on the agenda. I don't think that turkey will be thawed enough tonight. If it is, I might cook it tonight but it is more likely to make it to the table Wednesday night.

Good Morning Ed...(take note it really IS morning!)
Home from the grocery...have everything I need, except...to make the baked spanish casserole I want to try, I need 2 cups of chopped tomatillo's. Publix didn't have any??? Like I expected to find them there? LOL! Haven't been to my Mexican market since PF closed, but I will be going to get my tomatillo's. Love the little tomato looking, lemony tasting things.

I think I have a Bakers Cyst going on with my right knee. Damn thing hurts for sure, right behind my knee. Walking is no fun. Plan to do a bit of checking up with Dr. Google. I've had one before, maybe 6 or more years ago...

All of next week, starting I believe on Saturday, that cold front is going to make us look for our sweatshirts and long pants....I think that would be a perfect time to cook and use that turkey breast!! Turkey sandwiches, turkey tetrazzini, turkey veg. soup, ok, its been so long since I ate this stuff, I can't really remember any other things to do with turkey.... :).

Have a good walk today. I'm going to be babying this knee. Last one ended up with an injection of Cortisone in the knee. I'd rather not do that again...but...I'll give it a week before I stick my neck out and say I won't.

Howdy all y'all. It's wonderful Wednesday! It's a lot cooler here today, with no chance of precipitaiton. I walked first thing, to enjoy the brisk air and avoid some of the sunlight. My fingers were a little stiff when I got back, but I started my tea right away and made breakfast and they warmed back up pretty quickly.

No big agenda today. Maybe a little light housework. And Eduardo is going to do something with that turkey breast roast today.

Eduardo cooked the turkey breast today, smothered in onion soup mix. It came out very tender and moist, just the way I like it! I couldn't find the green peas that I think I have in the freezer, but they may be buried deeply in there. So I settled on just turkey and taters, with gravy.

Here's how it looked when I started it in a Crock Pot. The onions got tender and very darkly caramelized when it was done.

And here was my dinner plate. :) Yes, I like a lot of pepper on my food.
