WTH has been wrong with me the last 2 days?
I've had a near-constant hunger, and have made some very poor decisions regarding snacking/grazing. I feel like I have tapeworms.
I desperately need to kick myself in the *kitten* and not fall into those old habits.0 -

You can turn it around! I love martabeerich's reply and cabennett99 is right on with his advice. I am fairly new to all of this but I have noticed if I don't get enough protein my cravings go nutso.0

Sometimes too many carbs can trigger more overeating. I know in my case that always seems to be what happens. You are strong and committed! Get back in the saddle and take back control!!!! Our mind often sabotages our plans. Remember how far you have already come!

Finally thin enough to wear boots for the first time in MY LIFE and my saggy skin at the knees hangs over the top looking ridiculous guess that is what happens when you loose over 200lbs never gonna be a boot wearer...damn! But that's okay because I will find a lower pair that will work eventually because I am THIN enough to wear boots!!!!! YAY!!!!!0

I feel your pain! I have some saggy knee skin too. I have to be super careful about dress length. I have learned to love booties, and there are so many cute ones out there. I also found a pair that's a height between a bootie and a knee high boot, love those!0 -

I was FREEZING all the time for quite a while post surgery, and while I still get cold more easily than before surgery, I've definitely adjusted over time and it isn't nearly as bad. I am sure it will get better for you!

Ugh, having to fast for bloodwork today. Appointment is not until 1:15. I have a serious hunger/low blood sugar headache.0

I feel your pain! I have some saggy knee skin too. I have to be super careful about dress length. I have learned to love booties, and there are so many cute ones out there. I also found a pair that's a height between a bootie and a knee high boot, love those!

Alright, I am fed up with the infected follicles/rashing on my belly and thighs. In the last month or 2 in having a daily Battle with this *kitten*. Guess it's from the extra skin rubbing around down there. Tonight I actually too the trimmer to it to see if things get any better. Not sure what else to try, medicated powder...0

I use coconut oil and the problem disappeared.0 -

I felt like I was freezing for the first year post surgery. I have lost over 200 lbs, so I lost a lot of insulation! I have adjusted though, and I am sure you will too. I still get colder than before, but not to the same extreme.0 -
Just a suggestion for the extra skin rubbing, I use SURE DEODORANT REGULAR SCENT on all my areas where skin rubs. It works amazing.

doc gave me some medicated powder for down there works awsome i have one hand that dont work so i use a hair dryer reach places i cant use towel0 -
Kimgravitt3 its a stick. It does leave white stuff so be careful, but I would not survive without it. Before surgery when I would work out and sweat if I didn't have it on under my belly I would hurt so bad.0

My rant. I am at goal and my health is sucky. I have reactive hypoglycemia and I am currently freaked out because my liver enzyme levels keep rising. No clue what it could be other than maybe eating too much protein??? No one told me how hard it would get almost two years out. Thankful for the loss but I am having a hard time at the moment. Stressing over the liver thing. It scares me.0

Warhawk, I hope things turn around for you. It sounds like you're seeing a doctor if you're getting labs done regularly, but don't hesitate to ask about seeing a specialist if the trend continues. There are lots of things that can impact liver enzymes, so if this doesn't turn itself around it would be good to dig a little deeper into things - just to be on the safe side. When you think of what a shock we've put our bodies through it's amazing that we don't end up with all sorts of temporary shifts in labs! Have you seen an improvement in your cholesterol tests and your Hemeglobin A1C that looks at the trend of your blood sugar levels? I bet those number look better than pre-operative values. I am just 2 1/2 months out but will be getting labs done in a few weeks and hope to see some big changes. Sending you lots of positive thoughts and energy!0

I need to buy a better scale. Thursday it said I was up by 5# from Monday. I checked at 3 different times of the day. Saturday night was the same. This morning, I'm back down to where I was last Monday. I bet the battery is dying in it...
Either way, Stalling out can kiss my butt. I've got too much work to do for that BS.0 -
My rant - I have lost over 200 lbs but I still feel self conscious because I have SO much loose skin, and it's frustrating. I work out and watch what I eat, but the only thing that will fix this is surgery. That is really my only frustration, and honestly, I feel like it's silly to complain about it, because just about everything else is my life has improved as a result of the surgery.
And this is me, but with a 160+ weight loss! The frustrating part for me is that, per the doctor, if we were to remove all the loose skin, I would be at goal. So what does that mean? That I'm now in maintenance whether I want to be or not because as far as my body is concerned, it's at goal, so it's done. But my scale still reads 230 and my clothes are a size 18 or XL and this is not where I want to be! And that is my rant!
PS - For those of you who have less to lose and are younger, please know that the loose skin issue may not be yours. garbeth lost over 200 pounds. I had 220 to lose between where I started and goal and I'm 59, so my skin has no elasticity to bounce back. This does not happen to everyone.

Thanks for clarifying Pat! The loose skin issue widely varies among WLS patients, and so many things do factor in such as amount of weight lost, age, etc. I know people who had surgery who don't have serious issues with this at all, and the possibility of it shouldn't be a deterrent!

Scales have stalled in Nov. I'm feeling great but at nearly 6 months post op I am eating more of a variety of foods. I guess I should get back to more protein shakes. I'd really like to see the scales move again. Ugh0
