Got in 6 miles walking in the city last night and this morning. Really fun girls evening with dinner and a Broadway show.
@Clepant - Shocking story. I'm so sorry. Yes that would put a sad cloud on the event. But I agree with Dave - none of us know how many years we'll be given and perhaps running had increased or improved those he had. Hang in there.

With my rainy walk, treadmill warm up before my session with the trainer and her making me run a few laps, I'm adding 5 miles today. Also spent some time in a running store with my brother, got a new cold weather top and new shoes. Contemplating doing a 5K in Jan. The hot chocolate at the end is calling my name ...
@You can do it Kar. It is a great goal! Try Galloway method...it helped me get started and saved my knee on my race on Sunday on mile 8 to 9.5.0 -

@CLEPANT - So sorry to hear that! My thoughts go out to all affected. That is really hard when that happens, but you're right in that he was doing something he loved. And who knows, his active lifestyle may have already added years to his life that he might not have had otherwise.

Hi Friends. I'm sorry I have been missing this month, I need to somehow get my life back in order. I'm starting to realize I Need this group to keep my life in perspective and my health going the right direction. It's too late for me to salvage October, but I will do better in November. (And yes, I will finish out October with some moving also)
Added 15.5 miles for an October total of 46.75 miles
Congratulations to all you Goal Makers!!!! Unfortunately I will not be joining you this month (53+ miles in 4 days is not realistic for me) but there is always another chance.

17.3 miles today, 12.8 in cycling class, then with the heavy rain and late hour, I was forced to use the treadmill (went to the gym twice in one day - me!), ran/walk 3 miles, the sun had come out part way through, and I wasn't at 10K steps yet, so I went home and did 1.5 around the lake. And I did a TRX class today too. I think I'm done for the day.
