    Ann & Sue You are both welcome! I have no idea why she did that since her whole business model is based on people walking in their own homes. My living room is wide, but even from my foyer through the living room, I was hitting the wall because I have a fairly long stride for someone who is only 5'4" tall. I cannot imagine what anyone who is 5'8" is going to do unless they live in a mansion. You are right, they will need a ballroom or a gym! I am quickly reaching the point where 1 of her kids is going to graduate school on me Ann, so we have them covered! :laugh:

    Brenda...thank you for the review. I plan to pass for now. I'm only capable of doing 1-2 steps forward/back and the
    same side to side so it's not worth it at this point. The fact that she's missing cues isn't encouraging either. Ann, I
    LOVED what you said about putting Leslie's kids through college-too true. It's too bad we can't take it as a tax deduction!!! :)

    This workout wasn't well thought out, was it?

    As for the queing... well, bless her heart. Lol... I'm thinking of Walk Your Belly Flat, a 3 mile walk. She starts with walking, adds arms then begins to explain how the arms are helping with the waist. Moving her arms around her waist to show you where your ab muscles are. Then starts doing the arm moves again, completely off so you have to stop and start with her again. She does this at least 3 times in the workout. And once she starts with the arm raises, again explaining how great they are. We do 36 arm raises before she finally stops. Wouldn't you think by now, that someone should be standing by the camera guy in the front doing a count down for her? Or how about those things news reporters wear in their ears so they can report things immediately as they happen? She could have someone telling her the count through the whole workout. A few slip ups are fine that's life. But when your left leg turns out smaller than your right leg, you know you've got to switch up your workouts cause you been "walking with Leslie" for too long. >:)

    October goal - 120 miles - 15 over 10,000 steps.
    Week 1 - 27 miles (2 over 10,000)
    Week 2 - 30 miles (total 4 over 10,000)
    Week 3 - 24.7 miles (total 7 over 10,000) Total 81.7 miles

    Oct 22 - 3 miles
    Oct 23 - 2.9 miles - off to the scrapbooking retreat
    Oct 24 - 1.9 miles
    Oct 25 - 3.3 miles

    30 miles to goal ...

    So leaving the retreat everyone waits for the elevator and a cart to haul stuff...so to get some exercise in the beautiful weather....I used the stairs and made several trips to my car with my things. Just a little muscle building going on there.. ha ha...

    Today - took the day off work and am going to dig and wash the parsnips. The weather is cool but sun shinning and no bugs... yeah!!!

    Ann I wonder sometimes if they just film a quick workout rather than planning it out and shooting it more formally. Her earlier DVDs seem more planned. The last few almost seem like she is kind of bored with the whole thing herself and is going through the motions. She may just need a new idea! Sometimes, that helps all of us with our work. :wink:

    Just musing out loud Brenda...maybe Leslie is "walked out." Maybe she needs a challenge to her own personal fitness(and ours as well). You wouldn't want anything too strenuous, because none of us is 25 anymore(forget 21 Day Fix). Sooo...what about a ballet workout? What would you suggest to Leslie to reinvigorate her routine? Go...

    Sue LOL ballet? I am trying to imagine what that would have been like when I was at my highest weight! Not a pretty sight! :laugh:

    She seems to want to attract a younger group of walkers (notice how young the walkers are getting compared to Linda, Mary Jo, Mary Kay etc?). And let's face it, that jumping she does on some of those DVDs is not good for the knees of people who are obese or over 60! So, she could produce some really good walking videos geared to particular audiences. For example, I'd like some more, and longer, weight training DVDs. So a series of walking and "Progressive Weight" videos could be one. Younger people need more rigorous videos to get their heart rates up so she could so a series of "Walking under 50" videos and we would all know that meant jumping and jogging. She could do a series of "So you are serious about losing while walking" videos and that is where she could do all her talking with the "tips" she seems to want to pass along that I would have loved in the year I was shedding the weight and getting fit, but that are very distracting now. As Ann says, she gets lost and we are arm flapping for 10 minutes!!! :noway: She could do some 6-8 mile walks as well. What is so magical about her 5 mile limit???? I think if she focused more on marketing to her audiences, she would be invigorated and seem less bored, sell more DVDs, and probably up the production quality. She needs to hire me as her "marketing consultant." :laugh: Meh, I am a sociologist and I think in terms of groups-can't help it :blush:

    Hey Everyone!!!!

    I have had a crazy 2 weeks... family in town, visitors here and there, work is a nightmare... and Binge ho. *sigh* Binge Ho is a nightmare when I'm stressed out. I am starting back to it today! I can still get my 4 workouts in and hope to maintain this week. I have not hit my calories in days! My back is acting up from transferring my mother. I know I'm not supposed to do it, but she wanted in her bed and there was no CNA to be found. Now the rain. I am doing my stretches and taking ibuprofen. It helps, but I just wish my back would heal faster. Today I get on a bike. I'm afraid to walk, because of the blown disk, so I am going to take it easy, but definitely getting my buns to the gym!



    Not giving up! I am going to make a positive out of the remaining days of the week. I am going to be fierce about getting to 159 November. And I do mean Fierce. This is ridiculous... I am to blame. I hold the fork.


    I am stepping up my visits with mother. she seems to be better as far as her memory goes when I'm there more and when I bring food. She doesn't eat crapola at the home...and I don't blame her. I have seen that nasty food coming out of the kitchen! Can't tell you how many times I have asked people that work there.. "Would you eat that?" They never answer. I wonder why. LOL


    Oh well. I'm saying screw everything else and let's get those 4 workouts in! Oh! I am going to give Zumba a try on Saturday. Wish me some serious luck!

    zichab - I think your ideas are great and Leslie should hire you TODAY. :)

    I agree about directing more energy at creating workouts designed for her advanced walkers. No need for describing how to do a side step and more miles would be great. She seems to feel that she must speak to beginners on every DVD. I understand that there will always be people new to her workouts but why not create a beginner DVD just for them? She could continue to create an updated Beginner workout on a regular basis, selling more and more. Then an intermediate one and so on. Or, just put those tips and explanations in a little clip in the menu and if you are new, go there and learn the steps. If you are advanced, pass it by. I wonder if she ever watches the video's once they are completed. Of course, she doesn't watch them like we do - 4 or 5 times a week.

    I would love to see a workout titled "Abandon Hope, All Ye who Walk Here" or something like that. We would know this would be the ultimate walking workout with the grand mistress! Ha-ha! We advanced walkers would have to try it - hey, maybe we should both send in our resumes to Leslie, huh?
