I haven't posted recently, I have only done a couple of mild walks this past week hopefully will get out there today. We have some nice fall colors going on .
2 miles have been sick for the past week.

    5 miles total.

Good walking... The lovely breeze and the leaves do a lot toward making the walks fun. Hope you are feeling better soon.

Taking it easy for now...just getting back to it after a long layoff...

    10-6:1 mile
    10-7: 2 miles
    10-9: 2 miles

Not setting a goal for this month...just trying to get the steps back into muscle memory, and trying to commit
to regular walking again. It's GREAT to be back in the group again!!!! :)

I'm glad you're back too Sue. Just remember this isn't a race. So doing what you can is just fine. And I know when you get that muscle memory back there will be no stopping you. :)

erm, didn´t post my stats the last couple of days:

went from the 6th until friday evening without measuring, so I leave these days out. Over the weekend I did 9,1km, so I am

    25,1/80km

I went back to fitbit, because the zip was offered for 39€ and the functions there are enough for me. Also I quite like the software and the connection to mfp.

Also did my first weightlifting in a while this morning, and...twisted my back/hip. Argh, walking hurts now. I had planned to do a video today, but not sure if I can make it. Meh :-(

Neonbeige, so sorry to hear you twisted your back/hip. I think you are right about holding off a day or two before getting back to working out. Hope you feel better soon.

neonbeige I am so glad you found a fitness tracker that you like! I know a lot of people love the Fitbit. However, I am so sorry you hurt your back lifting. I am always worried about doing that every time I pick up weights. I would rest it a few days so it heals. You sure do not want a serious overuse injury OUCH! :noway:

No Leslie walk tomorrow as I will be on campus from 8:45 AM to 9 PM! Long day on Tuesday! :ohwell:

    October goal - 120 miles - 15 over 10,000 steps.
    Week 1 - 27 miles (2 over 10,000)

    Oct 8 - 2.3 miles
    Oct 9 - 3.8 miles
    Oct 10 - 3.1 miles
    Oct 11 - 3 miles
    Oct 12 - 4.5 miles - 10094 steps (3/15)

I think these days of walking all over my house doing my housecleaning and getting food ready is really hard on my legs...even though I wear my walking shoes in the house. So today - I am going to go outside and walk my dog to get the majority of my miles in and then sit at my desk and get some bookkeeping done, and I have to put the second coat of paint on the downstairs bathroom.

I shouldn't have to do any cooking because there are leftovers from the turkey dinner last night.

@AnnofB and Zichab thank you for your kind words :-) My back is better today, we put balm on it and I barely got 1000 steps in yesterday, but I just couldn´t walk. Today I can walk slowly without pain and had the thought of "maybe I could try a DVD?!" Nope, just trying to walk a bit faster to the living room had me groaning. Plus I am sore everywhere due to the lifting yesterday, argh! But it seems like this is all stuff that will go away, so I am thankful for that :-) Lots of rest - not SO bad, hehe. I am just so lucky I work from home. Made the situation way easier.

Looks like you all are right on track, yay! That´s really great!

I seriously did not work out again until yesterday after my first strength session. And today is another round of strength… I am only doing half squats all the way through to see where I am at with the pain. That was such a miserable feeling! I am going into this with a positive mind set! I am going to get stronger. Lol

@PinkyPan1 maybe I should take up golf! The only problem is I’m not a good golfer and my favorite part of the whole game is the Beer Cart.

    10/5 30 min walk
    10/6 30 min strength
    10/7 30 min walk

    10/12 30 min walk

    gotta keep on steppin!

LOL....Stay strong. Strength training is hard work and the soreness can be a set back.

As far as golfing goes I was terrible learning this sport in the Spring. I am now getting pretty good at it. I hate that we have to take the winter off and start over next Spring. We tee'd off in 43 degree weather last weekend. It was COLD. I am addicted to it and I will layer up. Power walking the course helps me stay warm.

Leslie just about KILLED me tonight...working out at WAH website and was bored, needing a break from Silver Walk
and Women's Walk. Decided on 3 Fast Miles. I haven't done this in forever and it was WARP SPEED from the get go.
I barely managed to follow at half Leslie's pace, but did do some modified mambos and modified kickbacks. Had to
go back to walking more often than not, but did 2 out of the 3 miles. I'm gonna sleep tonight and hurt tomorrow,
but it was SO WORTH IT!!!!!

You are all doing great! Very cool :-)

I feel better today, my back only hurts a tiny bit, but I am still pretty sore. This morning I went grocery shopping by bike - it was not even 4km both ways - and I was huffing and puffing, because my legs/quads were killing me :-) The way also was a bit up and down and I had to go to second gear uphill, lol.

But tomorrow I will start walking again, maybe a smaller walk and then I see how I feel.

I have to check out the site more, I signed in already, but didn´t really look at everything properly.

    Have a great day!

neonbeige I so envy you being able to bike to the grocery store. It is one of the joys of visiting my son in Netherlands. I can walk to the store (3km roughly both ways) and do almost every day. Here, the stores are so far away that I have to use a car and even a bike would be a challenge, assuming I could get to the store without some idiot hitting me with a car! Meh, I know, first world problems!!! Walk carefully today and warm up well so your muscles do not revolt!
    Way to GO, Ann!!!
Actually Sue, it is nice having both of you back with us! Now, we just need to help texasgardnr to pop in from time to time. She is being such a good sister for her brother. All of us will simply have to keep walking and encouraging each other for her so when she comes back, she'll be super proud of us! :+1:
