    Today was great!

Calories 1706 (I actually made a deficit since the work we were doing on the farm was intense enough that it said I got a 45 min workout haha)
Steps 9800 (lots of work was done on the farm today, even though we were having to dodge the on and off rain)
Sleep last night was decent 6 hours and 35 minutes. I would have slept longer but my husband woke me up saying it was time for coffee and breakfast. We usually wake up and go to bed together... he just falls asleep a lot quicker than I do.
    Water: 2 bottles
Cardio was spent cleaning and sweeping out the shed, stretching electric fence wire, walking the land (5.5 acres) to see where else we’d need to stretch electric wire, and taking a moment out to kick a soccer ball with my daughter.

Today was ok but it could have been better.

    Calories: 1430
    Steps: 4737
    Water: none
Cardio: none, I spent part of the day homeschooling so at least I was standing but the rest of it I was on my butt, albeit I was looking up other homeschool resources and curriculums, but I was still on my backside. I did get up at one point and get the kitchen clean so I wasn’t completely unproductive but it is what it is.

    Calories 1604
    Steps 5666
Water none... I had 2 cups of coffee and that uses water to make it so it counts, right? lol jk
Cardio none....Homeschool group started up again today and so we were away from the house the majority of the day.
Did some more research on more effective homeschool methods and made some spreadsheets and a multiplication table. Starting to really like where this is headed. Next year will definitely be a lot easier and less confusing than this year has been.

Even though you're not getting in cardio, you're doing well with steps! When you work that in, you'll get 10,000 easily!

@megbeveridge93 Oh, if I only had a few more hours in the day! hahaha I plan on getting the workout video back into our routine soon, hopefully. I've restructured our homeschool and now it takes up a good portion of the day and then I still have to clean the house and make dinner. I tried to convince my husband that I need a maid. He wasn't buying it. hahaha I feel like once we get finished with our move in process (we just moved from TX to TN) then I'll be able to get the house caught up to the point where a workout will easily fit in to my day.

Between pulling electric fence wire, having to run back and forth to help my daughter help us lol, feeding animals, a birthday party we attended, and weed cutting, I got 10,037 steps!!!!! Woohoo!!! However, I didn’t log a single thing. So, tis life. I was glad we were able to get that wire strung before the rain came. We were able to turn our 2 goats loose in that part of the pasture. They were so happy. Haha It was fun watching them play.

Great job on the steps! I'm sure even if you logged food you probably would have been in your goal range since you did so much physical activity :)

Things have gotten so busy now that we are back in the thick of homeschool again. Its getting harder for me to remember to get on here. I'm still getting a lot of steps even though I keep forgetting to log. Steps for the past few days have ranged from 5000 to 7700 steps. Thanks for the encouragement ladies!

Well, yesterday was my husband's birthday and you know what that means.....CAKE!!! He wanted a earthquake cake and it is sinfully delicious. I didn't go overboard but I also didn't count the calories. I've still be doing good on my steps, even got over 9K the other day. I've worked in a couple workouts but this week has been crazy due to his birthday and this crazy weather. I know that shouldn't get in the way, but I've been watching the weather like crazy to see if the arctic vortex was going to hit us. Thankfully its just north of us so its very very cold but the wind chill is not in the negatives. The single digits, yes, but not the negatives. So, today I am going to try to get a workout in after we finish homeschooling. Especially considering that I keep stuffing this amazing stuff called food in my mouth! haha!

WHAT is an earthquake cake?! It sounds like heaven and hell on a platter. Don't worry about what you "should" be doing. Worry about what you can do. You got a couple workouts in this week, which is more than a lot of people can say!

I know how you feel on the "I should do this and this" but sometimes it just doesn't work out like that. That's why I had to take a few days off of here to get myself back centered to where I needed to be. You will be able to do more when the time is right! Happy birthday to your husband and that cake sounds 🤤🤤🤤!

@megbeveridge93 It is very good for your taste buds and very bad for your hips! My mom usually always makes it for Thanksgiving and sometimes throughout the year as a yummy dessert. Here's the recipe:

    INGREDIENTS
    cooking spray
    1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 1/2 cups sweetened flaked coconut
1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
eggs, oil and water according to cake mix package
    1/2 cup butter melted
    8 ounces cream cheese softened
    2 1/2 cups powdered sugar
    1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
    INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Coat a 9"x13" pan with cooking spray.
Place the pecans and coconut in an even layer in the bottom of the pan.
Prepare the cake mix according to package directions and pour the cake batter over the coconut and pecans.
Place the cream cheese in a medium bowl and beat with a mixer until smooth. Add the butter and beat until combined.
Gradually add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese mixture and beat on low speed until smooth.
Place dollops of the cream cheese mixture on top of the cake batter. Sprinkle the chocolate chips over the cake.
Bake the cake for 40 minutes or until the cake has set.
Cool, cut into squares and serve.

@knorris84 I take lots of days off. :D I should take less days off. Its just hard this time of the year since I've got the holidays and then birthdays, Valentine's Day, and Easter. haha If I was still in East Texas, I would have even more birthday parties to attend, so I guess that is one good thing about living 14 hours away. A little less cake is a good thing.

The cake was very delicious. I put the recipe in the post above this one if you want to check it out!

Well, yesterday was stressful and I ate too much cause that's what I do when I get stressed. I ate more than I should and my step count was also way down. Hopefully today will be good and I won't overeat and get the steps that I have been getting. They are celebrating my husband's birthday at his family's place this weekend and they like to cook. When we'd come up here on vacation (we'd stay with them) breakfast consisted of: eggs, biscuits, gravy, sausage, bacon, fried apples, and sometimes fried bologna and pork loin or deer tenderloin. So, family get togethers are about the same way, just a lot more. If it was gross, I could just say "no thank you" but everything is so delicious! I've also never seen a leafy green salad on their table. :o (I grew up so much differently than he did) I make salads here but it took a few years to convince my husband that salads can be delicious...still can't get him to eat most vegetables....green beans and potatoes it about it besides cream corn. Makes planning healthy meals really hard. I have my own bags of frozen vegetables in the freezer. His siblings hardly will touch any vegetable besides potatoes. So, needless to say, I'll be gaining about 30 lbs this weekend. lol Not really, but I certainly don't lose weight when we go up there. :p

I do need to get more serious about this weight loss and stop snacking so much. I'm sure its thirst more than hunger, but food is more delicious than water. :D

Well, due to sickness the dinner at my in-laws was cancelled. Its been rescheduled for this weekend. I was thinking last night that I am going to start drinking a glass of water before each meal since I am a fast eater (doesn't feel fast to me haha) and it may help me not eat at much. I'm also going to try and slow down, even though it feels silly and unnatural when I try and eat slower. I'll see how that goes for now and then reevaluate in about a week or two.

Well, so far I have increased my water intake, so that it great! I actually took lemon water with me to my daughter's homeschool group yesterday instead of coffee. I forget some meals to drink a glass of water beforehand but I'm still drinking so I still call that a win. I feel like I'm eating a little less than before, so hopefully this trend will continue. I'm just taking it one day at a time and trying to get as much water in me that I can. I hope I'll start seeing a change in the way my clothes fit after a couple of weeks of increasing my water. I threw my scale out when we moved here so I don't weigh myself anymore. I've told myself that I need to focus on getting healthy, not what a number says. I always got so discouraged when the scale wouldn't move or the numbers went the wrong direction. I've fallen off the wagon a lot due to that silly scale.

Down with the scale!!! That triffling witch with a capital B!!! I do weigh, but I definitely put way more emphasis on measurements.

Great job increasing your water! Drinking a glass before meals is a good strategy, but I never remember to do that. Scales are definitely overrated. I was really happy not to weigh at all during Whole30 and I'm not sure how often I'll do it now that it's over. Feeling healthy and happy is so much more important!

Thank you ladies! I'm still doing really well with the water and I've really cut down on my snacking. I even hit 8000 steps yesterday. That's really good considering I was just cleaning the house and walked the property line once to check on our fences. The warmth had blessed us yesterday but now its cold again. I'm ready for the warm weather to come and stay!
