    Our Saskatchewan day is on Monday - so I think it may be a long weekend all-around...?? I dunno that for sure, though...

    I've upped my walks to 7km for the last 2 days (with my zombies!). I tried jogging a couple of times, but I seriously think I have broken toes on both of my feet. I might have to go see someone about that, because it's something that has been bothering me for over a year. I don't feel it all the time with shoes on, but if I try to do barefoot push-ups, or if I'm stepping on my tip-toes, it really hurts a lot. And when I lean forward on my feet more to start jogging I can really feel it too... So I don't know what to do. I'll have to make an appointment somewhere - but where? A sports physio? Just my GP? Any suggestions??

    Carla, we did a big purge at our house a couple weekends ago. Feels good! But all I really got done was each of the kids' rooms. I still need to do my room properly, and I really, REALLY need to do my basement (ugh - that one's gonna take DAYS!)

    Your new cat is beautiful too, btw. If she's affectionate already, she'll be full of love for you in no time.

    Carla good luck with your fall planting. I never had much luck with growing straight from seeds unless I started them in pots so I’ll be interested to hear how it goes for you. I need to do what you and Karrie are doing, and de-clutter my closets and such. It is just such a project and I haven’t had the energy to do it lately.

    Ouch Karrie… your poor toes. I think I’d probably start with your GP and see where it goes. Enjoy your holidays!

    I have been totally off the rails for a couple days. I’m beyond stressed and unhappy with things at work and falling back into bad habits. I went to the store on my way home last night and got stuff to make Green Monster Smoothies for breakfasts this week. It’s from the OSG website. I also got ingredients to make another batch of the detox salad, the protein power goddess bowl, and the glowing spiced lentil soup. All from OSG of course lol. I have been craving snacky starchy (and giving in far too much) over the past week or so, and it really snowballed out of control over the past couple days so I need to go really good, filling, nourishing food, reset my cravings and appetite, and get back on track.     Oh, and of course I got lots of lettuce and will eat a big salad every day either lunch or dinner.

    I agree with Mihani, Karrie, start at your GP and see what they recommend for your toes. If it could be a fracture they might send you for x-rays and go from there. Sounds painful. I hope it is something that is easy to solve and doesn't stop you from those fantastic walks you've been taking! Nice work. Enjoy your vacation!!

    Mihani, looks like a great lineup of recipes. I'm going to have to try the spiced lentil soup, that looks so good. I really like the power protein bowl too. Although I know I can omit the fat, I have to confess that quite often I just make it as she recommends. I should try the monster smoothie, too. I really got into a rut with the blueberry and spinach smoothie and very rarely make anything else. I hope the work situation turns around for you.

    I've been working with my new resin in art projects and really enjoying it. It's a great sticky mess but I'm getting some cool results. I even bought and use a blow torch which I never imagined myself doing. It scares me a little but it is easy to light and saves so much time for getting the air bubbles to rise to the surface and pop.

    We're hitting the tail end of one kind of peas in the yard while the other is still going strong. The shells are kind of tough now that they are getting bigger. I'm going to shell a bunch and put them in a bowl fresh for snacks. Next year, we'll probably just do sugar snap peas. What I thought was a squash plant looks like it is actually cucumbers. Always a surprise when you take over someone else's garden! I've been eating the cherry tomatoes fresh each day as they ripen.

    Carla I love fresh peas straight out of the garden. My dad used to get really annoyed when my mom and I would sit and shell them all and eat half lol. I'd love to see some pics of your artwork, I've never heard of resin art but it sounds cool.

    I spent all day in the office and got home late. I had cooked the wheatberries and lentils for the protein power bowl last night so I made that when I got home. It's so good, the lemon tahini dressing is delicious. It does have 2 tablespoons of EVOO in the dressing and I went ahead and made the recipe as written, but next time I'll see how it is without it. I don't have time to make the detox salad, I still have a little work to do tonight and I'm finishing laundry. Hopefully I can get it done tomorrow night. The spiced lentil soup is planned for a bit later in the week.

    B - green monster smoothie... I liked it actually. It might be better with a little frozen banana to sweeten it up, but it was fine as is. I was feeling a bit garlicky right after having it, but it's just one squirt of the liquid garlic extract. I never realized that liquid garlic has so many health benefits, at least if the packaging is to be believed. I'm going to have the smoothie every morning for at least a week and see if I feel the promised energizing effects.
