@2020pinktogo that is awesome. Doesn't it feel good when you are able to come up with a solution for something that seems to be impossible. What a way to start the week.

@NewOR2015 Glad you got out of your funk. Sometimes we just need to have a "cloudy, EEyore-like day". I also enjoy walking by myself. IT's a great time to wipe away the cobwebs of the day.

@1skholloway So happy for you! It's great to have a loss, but even better if you aren't expecting it. Keep up the good work.

Handled the first weekend of birthday celebrations ok. Ate "alright" but definitely off plan. However, I did 6 miles on saturday and 4 on sunday. Stayed active most of both days and though have a bit of a gain, I'm blaming it more on the added salt from the foods eaten (pizza, popcorn etc) than anything else. Lots of water today and things should be back to normal.

    Happy monday everyone!

today was one of those days where everything goes right. I kept going YES!!! Josh was like make a list of what you want for X-mas I owe you big time. He does owe me I think his job was and is on the line and I saved his neck. I think I will ask for another dvd. My boss gets so pissed as he buys me a gift and not her but i ask for a 5 dollar gift and the rest ask for large presents I just appreciate the gesture.

Today I got the money order machine up and running. WOO HOO!!! right now everything is working and I even got everything sent back out with the fedex man. It was the perfect day the guy from subway even brought me my favorite cookie. I had to do a lap around the building to feel good about eating the cookie but I ate the cookie. I took off my fitbit as I'm at 23k steps and getting obsessed with it so now I have to take it off when I come home. thank goodness it doesn't link up to my computer as I get even worse. LOL Hoping tomorrow goes just as well. I love happy days.

OMG I woke up this morning and my whole body is going what did you do yesterday. LOL So I will not be starting the day off with exercise as my body is so sore I am just trying to move. Oh well for one day I actually know what it feels like to be wonder woman now back to reality.

I am so very FRUSTRATED!!!!! I thought the bulk of yesterday's work was complete and today, I find that the accounting part doesn't balance. I STRONGLY DETEST accounting! Also, one piece of yesterday's work is missing. Another co-worker looked at the work and can't figure out why we don't balance.

For a moment, I was tempted to go back to my old ways and make unhealthy eating choices. That red flag scared me a little. Thankfully, a co-worker had just made a fresh pot of coffee. I made a cup in my sock monkey mug that makes me happy. I have a new bottle of sugar free hazel nut flavored syrup that I add to my coffee. I couldn't get it open. I had to get the receptionist to open it so I wouldn't get pushed over the edge. :# I added a teaspoon of creamer, an added bonus that I don't often choose. I prayed, took deep breaths, and meditated.

Back at my desk, and I feel better. The problem will be solved, it just may take a while. The missing piece of work has been found.

Sorry for the rant y'all. I guess I just needed to vent. Okay, now I'm ready to tackle and conquer the accounting problem.

Oh my, a very sweet (too sweet at times) co-worker just asked me if I liked peaches and I said yes. She offered me some of her peaches she had just canned. I told her I would just have one slice and she said I had to have more. She is VERY sensitive so I didn't argue. The peaches were canned with sugar. She doesn't know I don't eat sugar and I didn't know she used sugar. Thankfully, she gave me only about 1/2 cup and she had used very little sugar. I figure it was about 50 calories.

I had already planned my meals for the day so I added that in. I can stay within calorie range since I am going to exercise tonight. I will exercise a little harder to work those off. Actually, I am starting to lift more weights and I have read a person needs to eat more calories when lifting more weights so maybe I don't need to do more cardio. :) I know it's probably the wrong type of calories. :(

That was my first time to have an experience like that. Most people know I am trying to make healthy choices and don't push food on me. I need to be better prepared for when this happens again.

Regarding earlier post, the problem was solved by noon. Thankfully it didn't take longer! Onward and upward!

@1skholloway Glad your earlier problem was solved. The peach problem doesn't seem as big. You can take care of it easily with your workout.

@2020pinktogo No pain no gain. :) I recently started to have a little sharp pain in left hip every now and then. I hope it goes away. I think it's related to lifting heavy stuff that I shouldn't have done by myself. Sometimes, I think it's easier to lift things than to ask for help. I need to learn to get help.

LOL so today we got an email from corporate and Josh is sweating bullets and I'm like relax I made you 2 copies one was for corporate the other for us go get our copy and see what they are talking about. He goes I can't I'm like why NOT? He goes I sent both copies to corporate. I took a deep breath and said well it won't be easy but add everything up the whole pile and verify the total with the history which we should be able to pull up. If it's off that's what you're looking for. He comes back an hour later and goes WE MATCH!!! Thank goodness my boss comes back tomorrow.

So this week was a lot of challenges so I did another and I signed up for the turkey trot on thanksgiving day. I paid my registration fee and I am making the first step of tackling another challenge. It's an 8k in November in downtown buffalo NY. With 14k people. I think I should have started with something smaller but hey sometimes it's the philosophy of go big or go home. LOL

Here's a little music video I thought you might enjoy. It's entitled "Before I Eat" by comedian Anita Renfroe.

@NewOR2015 you're very right. The peach thing wasn't a big deal. I just didn't like being pressured to eat food and it was the first time it had happened. I have lost over 76 pounds now and I the thought of reverting back to old ways of eating scares me.

I saw the food thing as your coworkers family treats things with food but she was respecting your weight loss by offering you fruit and not giving you a candy bar. It was a totally sweet gesture. Next time you will be prepared and you can say that is so sweet of you but I'm ok I had my coffee and I'm calming down. Or if you're not calm down yet you can say I know I look like my panties are in a bunch but as soon as this coffee kicks in I'll be good. My coworkers still offer me food most days I'm really good sometimes I'm like I really want that cookie then I have to shuffle the food around or do an extra lap.

My family does the food thing. Here bad day have a piece of candy. It's hard to reprogram something you have done your whole life.

Something to think about - In 2007, the American Psychological Association reported that 43% of Americans overeat when stressed. - From the book "The Thin Woman's Brain" Wow! (Ok, are you like me and thinking 78% of all statistics are made up??!!! : ) I think this one is true and that the number could actually be higher. Let's not be part of the 43%!!!!

@1skholloway I thought the number would be higher...Then I thought others probably smoke, drink, etc. so that's why it's "only" 43% overeating when stressed.

Sorry to have been MIA, but I was out of town with spotty internet. At least I was able to log what I ate on my phone. I hate typing out messages on it, though. The wedding was lovely. My sister-in-law had worked hard on it. She's one of those people who finds it difficult to ask for help. Fortunately, she has some good people in her life and they were able to step in and take some of the load off. My NSV- I was a bridesmaid. The first time I tried on the dress, it fit perfectly (except for the length). The last time I tried it on before the wedding, it fit but was so tight I wouldn't be able to do much other than breathe! And, the wedding was a couple of weeks away!! But, I perservered and lost enough for it to fit perfectly again, even with a bad knee and little to no exercise!!! Yay!!

On the downside, got my results from the MRI and I have a torn meniscus. :-( So, will talk to the dr some more and make an appt with an orthopedic surgeon to discuss what to do next. I'm sure losing weight will help. Now I really have to stay on track. Also, not too sure what this does to our South America trip. Maybe we'll have to postpone it. :-(

@2020pinktogo -- Wow! Looks like your OCD comes in handy at times. XD I am so glad you are able to challenge yourself. You'll have a blast on your races this year!!

@1skholloway -- Looks like you did the right thing re: co-worker and canned peaches. It is hard, especially when the treat is homemade. Loved the video!! It is so true!!!

@NewOR2015 -- Glad the demons have left you alone for now. I am an emotional eater and when I'm feeling down (like I have been recently) it's hard to stay on track. All we can do is our best!

@blitzbis -- Way to go! I am so jealous of your 6mi walk on Sat!! I miss walking so much! Hate this knee and hate that it seems like it will be weeks before I can walk long distances again.

@JanolaBarbara Congrats on getting the bridesmaid dress to fit perfectly!

I've got a red dress buried deep in my closet that I am going to set as my goal for Christmas. I've got four months, plenty of time to do it. I also have my annual physical in November. I don't want my doctor recommending any meds because of this and that.

Oh my goodness, once again I have missed out on so much. Sounds like LOTS of NSV have mounted up and stress eating has taken a tumble for many of you. For me, not so much. It seems as if it's not standing still it is going in my mouth. Tomorrow is a new day, right?

I'm so happy we will have a regular psychiatrist in the building again next week. It still isn't enough time to get everyone seen as well as be able to admit new patients, but at least it is something I can plan on. My last run is this weekend and i have just gotten an email that the Trinity River Authority and/or City of Dallas may cancel it due to the possibility of rain and flooding. (I guess everything is so dry that it may flood or something). Oh well, we shall "run with the punches" I suppose.

KEep up the good work and positivity everyone!

@blitzbis so glad you will have a regular psychiatrist in the building again next week. I hope that takes some pressure off you.

I hope your run doesn't get canceled tomorrow but I think it probably will. It's flooding so bad in South Louisiana right now. It's just starting to rain here. The weather forecast shows rain here for the next week. We had a very 100 year flood in the spring. I really don't want too see rain again for a week this soon. Some people still aren't in their homes from the spring flooding.

I have so much I need to do outdoors this weekend. Oh well, I guess I will stay indoors and work on all chores there.

@blitzbis -- Glad you've got some help at work, even if it's just a little. I hope your run doesn't get cancelled, but if it does I hope you don't get flooded out! You're right-- all we can do is go with the flow.

@1skholloway -- Sometimes the weather just won't cooperate! But, if you're like me you'll find plenty of chores to take care of. At least you'll still feel like you accomplished something!!

@NewOR2015 -- ooOOoo.... red dress! Sounds like a great goal! Good luck! You can do it!

Thanks everyone for your commiserations on my knee. It's feeling much better today. I actually went on a 30min walk-- the longest walk I've done in about 2 weeks! Now that it's cooler, I'll do my strengthening exercises as I watch TV. Something is better than nothing, right???

@JanolaBarbara so happy your knee is better! So often we take our health for granted until it's gone. I bet you now appreciate the ability to walk. I need to remember that when I don't want to exercise!

You are right I have plenty to do indoors today. I will be productive today.

Thanks, @1skholloway . Although it's better, I'm still taking it easy as it's not 100%. I'm actually looking forward to the appt with the ortho surgeon next week. Then I'll know the full story and start on making my knee as good as it can be!

Still hot! I think I'll do some work in the garden today. Another way to get some exercise and yet not be too hard on my knee. Hope you all are having a good Sunday!

Well I am on vacation and my goal this week is not to binge like I did last time and gain weight. This morning I already walked the park with mom and then I hit a sale and got a fall jacket for 4.00 from LL bean. The only down fall of the coat is it has no pockets. It's this tent sale and my mom won't go to so I asked a few ladies what they thought and they loved the LL bean coat on me and they were like you can't beat the price. They thought the Columbia Fleece was too big but that too was 4.00 and black which is one color we are allowed to wear for work and as we freeze our butts off in the winter I was like I usually have a zillion layers on I was taking that. My goal was to find pants but of course what you want to find and what you find are 2 totally different things. Every year they alway have pants in small sizes this year they only had pants in my old size go figure.

So I bought fast drying paint to do the screen door it's going on the 2 do list.

I need to prune some bushes but right now we have thunder and I'm too chicken to go out and do them.

last week hubby was on vacation and he accomplished nothing so whatever i get done will be more than him so I'm just going to take it day by day.

Hope everyone has a great day and I'll take the rain if it comes LOL til later

@JanolaBarbara I hope you don't over use your knee this weekend!

@2020pinktogo great finds at the sale! Don't work too hard on vacation!

Well it's day 2 of rain here. S Louisiana is on at least day 3 of rain. My niece had to leave her home and go to her brother's home in the same subdivision. The front of the subdivision is flooded so they can't leave. Even if they could get out, the interstate is closed for miles . I'm grateful we aren't getting much rain. My heart is breaking for those who are flooding.

I was so sleepy today after running a few errands after church that I took a nap instead of eating lunch. Now that is sleepy!!! I just finished lunch at 3:15. I now must get up and get busy doing stuff around the house. I think a cup of coffee is called for to get me up and going.

Somewhat less hot today. Planning on pulling some weeds later on once it cools down. We're having a party tomorrow and I'm procrastinating cleaning the house. :p But, I'll start making some of the snacks today.

@1skholloway -- Oh, no. So sorry about the flooding. I hope you and your family are well.

@2020pinktogo --Love bargain hunting! Sounds like you got some good deals. Sorry they didn't have any pants that fit, but it's awesome all the pairs were too big!

We've been getting rain in Austin as well. My lawn needed it. Now, that you've mentioned it tomorrow I'll do some pruning too. My crepe myrtles are as tall as the house. That's okay for the backyard, but I'd like them shorter in the front yard.

I've had too much salty food lately. I need to stop that. Whenever I have something sweet (watermelon) I crave salt and vice versa. I still have a problem with eating moderate portions. I always want more.

Sorry I have been so quiet. I got hit by a bad head cold (still struggling with the last symptoms) and thanks to my hypochondriac colleague, still had to work through it everyday. That meant all I could deal with was work and then home to sleep! Looking forward to an amazing week though. 14 days until I can train hard again and 7 weeks until fencing competition. My coach is bribing me with a chocolate for every person I beat! And I got a fitted gum guard to help prevent future concussions so I need to get used to that. My friend is keen to get back into walking regularly and I need to start swimming with the seals again (no one else will get in the water yet as it's too cold still). Spring is only 17 days away so early mornings will involve swimming or running at the beachfront soon! I need to train for the season of ocean racing starting in October. Looking forward to an active summer again! Oh, and I met a guy online and things are pretty promising...

I skimmed over all the posts I missed. Knee injury as suspected meniscus tear. That is what they thought mine was at first. Turned out to be damaged cartlidge (arthroscopic surgery to shave that off) and a torn acl which resulted in 11 months of avoiding fencing and rehab to let that heal. I may have been able to return to fencing earlier but the concussion timing messed things up. What I have learnt is how important rehab can be in knees. I did my time with the physio after surgery and was very good with doing my homework etc (my physio is a good friend so I even checked if there was anything I could do pre-surgery, but as time was limited and I was reasonably fit she said I was likely to recover well, that was before we knew about the torn acl). I then started Biokinetics (it is basically the second stage of rehab and focuses on ensuring I build strength where I need it so that I don't repeat the injury. It also teaches me to engage certain muscles that I haven't been using properly. We learn to compensate in various ways which often leads to injury and they help identify those and correct them.) I started that about 6 months after surgery and have been doing two sessions a week for 4 and a half months now. The improvement in my balance and strength is incredible! I am quite active and want to compete in two different sports (fencing and Jui Jitsu) that are quite intense on knees so I am willing to put in the time and money (although the university centre I am at is not very expensive) to sort out problems I have had for years. Plus my trainer is a really nice guy who happens to look like Wolverine! We get on really well and have become friends, but mostly I love training with him because he pushes me to improve every single time.

@CaptainBoing so cool about the guy who seems promising. I freaked out my daughter's boyfriend the other day I guess as he is a pharmacy tech in our local pharmacy. there was a group of old men there and he realized they were talking about woman they would love to date and I was at the top of the list. LOL :D I guess the thought of his possible future mother in law as being cute was too much for him. I wish I was there to see him turn green. LOL My daughter told me and she was laughing so hard. I said he better realize we get better with age and treasure you.

No rain yesterday just the thunder hope we get some more one day isn't going to cut it.

I did go out and prune and I did it really fast as I was worried about the thunder.

@CaptainBoing so sorry you have been sick! I hope you are completely well very soon! Colds are MISERABLE!!!! You have so much fun stuff to look forward to doing, particularly the guy!

@2020pinktogo WOW, men wanting to date you! What an ego boost! Tell your husband he better watch out!

I didn't get as much done over the weekend as I had hoped. I did do some cooking and froze a lot of food in small portions. All I have to do is grab a preportioned package of meat from the freezer and a preportioned of veggies from the freezer or a can of veggies from the cabinet and I'm good to go for lunch. This works so well for me.

I finally cooked a bag of lentils I have for a while and wanted to try. I have never had them. Being a good Southerner, I cooked them more than twice as long as recommended to get them good and mushy. I'm thinking of using some of them to mix with ground venison, diced tomatoes, and sauted onions, garlic, and bell peppers. That's about the most cooking I do.

The trainer at the gym told me to try to eat a different fruit and vegetable every day to get my vitamins and minerals from food. I am kind of trying to do that. It cost me more at the grocery though to buy individual pieces of fruit instead of a bag of apples. :/ I know getting vitamins and minerals from food is probably better for us. I take a multi-vitamin and additional calcium with Vitamin D every day to help with proper nutrition. I also try to eat a balanced diet from all the food groups. I don't know that actually eating a different fruit and vegetable every day is actually necessary. I have read a noted doctor's writing about weight loss and he says he eats the same thing everyday.

I do very well with routine. I don't mind eating the same food every day. Weird, I know! My cabinet with canned goods is full of canned green beans because I buy them when they are on sale. Seriously, I stock up. I probably don't get below 30 cans at a time. I promise I'm not a hoarder. I don't like to run out of the foods I eat routinely. It's a quirk I developed over the last few years. I think I'm set pretty well food-wise in case of a disaster and I'm stuck at home. The neighbors will be coming to me for food. :p Oh well, it is what it is.

Ok ladies, let's make it a good one!
