@NewOR2015 if you have someone around lay on the floor. On your back and if your hip is out of whack they will be able to see if your leg appears to be shorter than the other. my right hip has a mind all of it's own I think my right side actually does. I used to go to the chiropractor and my Dr would love for me to go again but the last time I went they snapped something wrong in my neck and I had massive seizure. I'm too chicken to go back.

Ok, I will have someone look at me on the floor, but I will not have anyone snap my neck.

@1skholloway -- Yowza! Congratulations on your amazing loss!!

Well, I am in the middle of a visit from my sister and our 25yo niece. There's been a lot of temptations, late nights, and alcohol involved. Some walking, but not enough. I'm trying to make the healthiest choices possible. At least my knee is feeling better. Turns out, the dr says I have a very small meniscal tear, very mild arthritis, and that my outer quad muscle is stronger than the inner one so it pulls my patella out of alignment. The good news is no surgery! I start cortisone injections next week. Hopefully I'll only need them a couple of times a year.

@JanolaBarbara I worked in the Bakery for years and most of the guys were getting cortisone injections. If the first injection lasted say 6 months the second one would last 3 month. Each person it seemed to be the same way so definitely work on your other therapy too.

That's like my sister and my daughter. I had my child in my 20's my sister waited til she was in her 30's. I kind of scared the crap out of her when I got divorced. My brother and her figured if I couldn't make it work in our family nobody could. So they slowed down their relationships to a crawl and moved in with their significant others. LOL But my sister and my daughter are close she's the Auntie you call to get the good stuff from and her boys know I'm the Aunt who can find anything.

time for me to exercise and then I need to run more errands til later, sue

I had a cortisone injection a few years ago for back pain. It worked like magic, and I only needed the one shot.

School starts tomorrow. I'll be tutoring mostly first graders this year. It's going to be an exciting day!

Anybody else have a MONDAY???? Prayer and Jesus are the only things keeping me out of the chocolate candy jar in a co-worker's office. I have already given in and drank a Coke Zero before 10 a.m. It's not a bad day, I'm just grumpy. I have to keep reminding myself to choose joy. I just realized I forgot my apple at home. Now I'm thinking I have room in my food allowance today for a piece of chocolate. Then I remember I gave up sugar and that I'm a food addict and if I have one piece of chocolate I might not be able to stop with just one piece. Dadgumit!!!!! I might be able to stop at one piece and an alcoholic might be able to stop at one drink, too. I have to look at it the same way. It's not always easy making healthy choices. I have to remember where poor choices led me in the past. I'll settle for a piece of sugar free gum and some flavored, artificially sweetened carbonated water. Later, I will be glad I made these choices even if I'm not so happy about them right now.

Urgh, I had a horrible Monday. Super irritated with everything and everyone. I warned my trainer I was in that mood and to leave something we were arguing about in the past and he still kept bringing it up. I did try and choke him a couple of times for it! Then after work I had to say goodbye to my friend who got a job in Russia and now my knee is aching from a tough rehab session today. Supper was pizza but I only buy the little one so it isn't too bad. I'm in maintenance anyway so occasional treats /lazy choices don't affect me too badly.

Looking forward to going to sleep and trusting tomorrow will find me with a new store of patience for the annoying things.

@CaptainBoing I'm so glad to hear someone else is having a similar day. The water was cut off in my office building. An announcement was made about it but I didn't hear it. I drank 2 large cups of coffee and a canned soft drink while at work this morning. I had drank 32 oz. of water at home before work. The water is finally back on. I thought I was going to have to go to another building to use the bathroom.

I had a good Monday for my first day of school. The kids were chatty but good. We got a sudden rainstorm at dismissal. Other than that, all went well. I think it's going to be a good year!

I think caffeine has a greater effect on me now. I do have trouble sleeping if I have it in the afternoon or evening. Maybe it's like liquor and has to do with how much weight you carry. Since I weight less now than I used to, it affects me more.

Sorry to hear about these bad cases of the Mondays. :-( But, tomorrow is another day! My guests left this morning and my tummy is feeling a bit yucky from the not-so-healthy food choices I made while they were here, so it's a good thing I decided to eat clean for the next 30 days. I am following the Whole30 program. It was thanks to this program that I discovered my sensitivity to gluten 6 years ago. Basically I can eat healthy meats, vegetables, and a little fruit. That means no grains, no legumes, no soy, no alcohol, no added sugar, no dairy. Today went well. Hopefully my tummy will feel better in a couple of days.

    Hang in there everyone!!

@NewOR2015 -- Glad you had a good First Day of School. I remember being almost as nervous as the students on that day each year. XD That's an interesting idea regarding caffeine.

I agree with the caffeine I have too much and I Buzz around forever. I don't know how these kids drink all these energy drinks with added caffeine.

Hey all. I have to say that my Monday seems to have been much better than many of yours. I actually had the day off and though I didn't eat perfectly, I made good choices AND I walked 4 miles AND did a little strength training. My mother in law DIDN'T come over while I was there (she lives on our property).

I have had several friends and coworkers have good luck with cortisone shots! Isn't it wierd how slight changes in stature or muscle definition can have an impact on so much!

I have stopped drinking caffiene after 3pm (a recommendation our psychiatrist gave to one of the patients and I didn't think about it...I used to stop by 5pm). It's a blessing sometimes to have to "play nurse" when the doctor is here because I always learn something new!

Hope everyone has a great week. I am currently in a FitBit challenge and I'm really having to walk ALOT to get in the top 2 or three. This is a good thing as I'm not feeling very motivated on my own this week.

    Have a great week!
    Cindy

@JanolaBarbara Yes, our tummies let us know when we're eating healthy and when we're not. We just have to listen.

@blitzbis Congrats on your great Monday! Here's wishing you many more.

Just took the dog out and had to do some laps around the yard to get to my 10k steps today. It's something I'm trying to do every day. I usually average well over 70k a week but I have days where I do squat so I'm trying to make an effort to do at least 10. Plus it helped me calm down a bit my hubby is really pushing my buttons today. I went to my moms hoping to get a cookie but my uncle ate them all. But it left my husband in one piece as he was driving me over the brink today. He sometimes scares the crap out of me that he may be starting Alzheimer's. OMG what I may be in for.

I decided that the weather looked good enough to make it a beach day. I chose the middle of the day because that would be the hottest and went down to the ocean. After I turned numb, the swim was enjoyable, but the water was freezing! Much colder than I expected. No problem, bright shiny sun will warm me up while I start working on my tan for summer. Except the freezing cold wind would not let the sun's warmth reach me. After about 15 minutes of shivering, I gave up and moved into my car to warm up. The sun worked there because the wind was blocked!

I'm very ready for summer! Also noticed again how quickly I get cold and slowly I warm up. One of the few negatives of losing all my insulation...

    Hello All!
Thought I posted here early but it must be out in cyberspace so if it shows up sorry for the double post. @2020pinktogo suggested that I join this group for support on this new adventure. I have lost weight on MFP before but it has slowly crept back on. I am starting again now because 1) I want to be healthier (just dx with borderline diabetes) 2) I am tired of being tired 3) I want to participate in the cool activities my kids (21 and18) do and 4) I want to walk into any store and find some clothes to fit me.
I would love to have more friends so please send me a friends request. Karen

My triceps and shoulders are sore, so I must've done a good workout! I got the cortisone shot on Tues and today my knee feels almost normal. I hope it feels even better tomorrow. It's day 5 of my 30 days of clean eating, and so far so good. Minor freak-out this morning when I thought I did not have enough time to make my lunch (I volunteer on Thursdays) and might have to eat out! But, then I remembered I had leftovers in the fridge and brought that. *whew*

@jiggy242 -- Welcome! Those are great reasons for reaching a healthy weight. I also want to be able to shop in any store!

@CaptainBoing -- brr! Well, it's been hot here the last few days. I'm looking forward to this weekend, with forecasts of clouds and RAIN!

@blitzbis --Good luck with your FitBit challenges!

@2020pinktogo -- Glad you got your 10k steps in today. Sorry DH is driving you crazy today. Hope everything is better tomorrow.

    @jiggy242 Welcome. Friend request sent...

@JanolaBarbara Yay for the cortisone working, but be cautious. Tears in the knee take a long time to heal because there is limited blood flow (Mine took about 6 months.) If anything causes any pain, avoid that activity until you can do it pain free. There were lots of things I could do without issues during my recovery, but I was told that the best thing I did was avoid exercises that aggravated it. So, fencing was out but surprisingly judo and jui jitsu (both notoriously bad on knees) were fine!

This weekend is supposed to be good weather and I'm working so I plan to swim with the seal pups, just because I can!!!

I am doing better today though when I woke up yesterday and someone posted a T-shirt that said: Exercise gives you Endorphins
    Endorphins make you Happy.
    Happy people Just don't
    Shoot their Husbands
    They just Don't

I really wanted that shirt but by afternoon he let me fix everything. Maybe I looked like I was running low on my endorphins. LOL ;) I need to exercise til later

@CaptainBoing --Thanks for your input. I am definitely taking it easy still, although I'm looking forward to a good walk tomorrow.

@2020pinktogo -- Ha! Glad you can use exercise to work out some negativity. Keep it up!

@Jacquitheelder I found it in a Tshirt on Ebay you can pick your size and color and CafePress has it in a tank top. I promised my mom right now I would not get it but I absolutely love it and told the guy at work he could get it for me as my present for helping him. LOL

today i finally figured out exactly how much I walk at work. Well I didn't my boss did he was like WTH so he timed me and then he followed me and he's like damn you do a 10 min mile and don't even break a sweat. I didn't want to tell him I was a freak of nature I just said I am very physically fit. LOL that's me doing 2 laps around the building to calm down which I started doing a couple times a day. My coworkers told him I went on break and left the building so he went down to subway and they laughed and said she's doing her laps around the building the one guy said to him if she left a few min ago give her a min and she will be around front in a second but don't blink cause she will pass you by. Well there he was and then he proceeded to follow me on lap 2 and talk to me. UGH! Why couldn't he just let me have 5 min to myself and then ask me his dopey questions?

My concussion recovery is over! I can start training Jui Jitsu properly again! I'm so excited. Ok, all my friends have been discussing the various chokes they plan to use on me for weeks but I still get to roll even if I tap every few minutes! And my coach who is a black belt wants to roll with me. I have never rolled with a black belt before...
