Need to eat nothing prepared!!!

So, I've meticulously planned every meal for the past almost 6 weeks. Got everything planned and logged into MFP before the day begins and edit as I eat more or less throughout the day. Last night I planned on cooking when I woke up, instead I just got super lazy. Realized I had no food for the day so I rushed to the store and was like, oh no.... not a whole lot of keto options that I know of for ready to buy and eat meals. Settled on a cob salad, intend to kick out the croutons that came with it, some almonds and some Genoa salami slices. What do you all go for when it's time to eat and nothing is prepared?

Yes. Cheese and nuts are my fast foods. Pepperoni sticks too, although I am cutting back on the frequency of those. Eggs are a very easy and fast meal too.5

I like the cheese and nuts options, as well. Also, deli meats (salami, turkey, roast beef) rolled up around a pickle or cucumber spear, or around cream cheese with chopped walnuts. Buttered broth, or herbal tea with HWC if I'm not wanting a heavy meal.3

I grab a bag of salad greens, some Caesar dressing and some pre-cooked meat and toss it all in a bowl, I always have a block of Parmesan in the fridge to grate on top.5

I keep a few types of cheese in the fridge that I like, and always have spinach and eggs. So would probably whip up a cheesy omelette in 5 mins?
Otherwise olives, canned tuna with mayo or cream cheese and some salad - if I definitely couldn't be bothered to switch the hob on.
On occasion if it's very late (like past midnight) I have been known just to have a glug of cream, handful of nuts and call it a day!

Nuts, cheeses, eggs (try to always have a few hard boiled ones in the fridge), deli meats when I'm home, but out of time to prep anything. if i need to rush out and haven't eaten, i grab portioned nuts, a quest bar (4 to 5g net carbs, depending on variety) or a premier pro protein shake (have those in the fridge always as back up). if i have 5min, depending on time of day, i may make a bulletproof coffee or mix a protein powder with almond milk and some peanut butter.1

Eggs are my go to food. I have a microwave thing that will cook 2 in about a minute so it is quick and easy to eat by themselves or throw on some greens with some blue cheese dressing. If I have more time, then scrambling them with some cheese and any meat available and some jalapeños.1

String cheese, nuts, sausage sticks, hard boiled eggs, avocado, pork rinds are fall back foods if I forget my lunch.1

Every few weeks, I'll brown some ground beef, add a jar of Rao's marinara, portion it out, and keep it in the freezer for times like this. When I haven't planned or don't have time to cook a meal, I'll top a portion with an ounce of cheese, throw it in the microwave for a minute and done!
I've already done the counts and it's filed under my recipes, so I just log a portion and log the cheese. Easy peasy! Add a small green salad or eat alone. It fills the bill for me

Awesome replies, I do have tons of pecans, almonds and walnuts. Made sure to keep a large stock, love em. I did get 2 hardboiled eggs at the grocery to add to my salad, it only had a half an egg in it. I do have avocados and spinach and eggs, and thinking back I could have whipped them up instead of leaving early to go to the store, I panicked LOL.1

Nuts, cheese, pepperoni, salami. I usually don't have extra eggs on hand (2 eggs for breakfast means the dozen lasts me one week). This week my Safeway had 18 count eggs for $1.49 so I plan on having HB eggs or deviled eggs in the fridge for a quick grab and go.2

Next time:
No groceries in the house? Just Fast.
No time to shop? Just Fast.
Too busy to think? Just Fast.
Too tired to cook? Just Fast.
It's easy. I don't do it but it seems quite popular. Fast.5 -
With my job there is a chance every day I have to work an extra 8 hours, I'd hate to be hungry and not eat for 36 hours, I would be jet 90 to the nearest McDonald's for all the mcgriddles and steak egg and cheese bagels they had.1

Meat and cheese roll ups
Eggs
Cook some ground beef (doesn't take long at all) throw some taco seasoning and cheese on it. Maybe Sour cream too. Eat with spoon.2 -
14 replies and no one mentioned sardines?!?!?!

Never tried sardines, they any good? Don't look particularly appetizing.1

Ooh! Or just a can of oysters or mussles.1

@nvmomketo I can't tell if you're being sarcastic , but @Be9465 in answer to your question they are AWESOME! I eat them all the time. Now, if you eat them at work, your coworkers might have something to say about it.0

I always thought these looked and sounded gross. Then when diagnosed with T2 and heard these wee a good food option, I figured I should at least give them a try. Turns out they are good. Just avoid the ones in soybean oil. Soybean oil is not good for you. Best with olive oil. Mustard sauce is also good.0 -
If we're discussing tinned fish, mackerel is much more 'meaty', less bones than sardines too. Salmon preferably red, if you still have money after Christmas.0

A lot of people suggest nuts - careful, the carbs and calories add up REAL quick.
The bottom drawer in my fridge contains the following:
Individual tubs (40g) of cream cheese
Pate pods (50g)
Deli meats in individual 100g packs (check labels to make sure they don't contain too many carbs)
Olives
Cheese stringers
Tins of smoked oysters
Tins of salmon or chicken (again check labels)
Celery
Tomato
Cucumber
Parmesan cheese
Camembert
In addition to this sometimes I'll cook some chicken (or be lazy and buy a bbq chicken to pull apart and put in a container) and some boiled eggs.
I am never caught out, and I can always make something to eat that fits within my macros.

Yass! These exact ones (King Oscar, smoked sardines in olive oil). I keep a stack in the pantry at all times. Smoked oysters are good, too, but an aquired taste/texture. I also keep shelf stable pepperoni packs and beef jerky in my purse. Always prepared!!0 -

Calories - yes, carbs - not so much. A cup of walnuts has a grand total of 6-8 net carbs. Compared to tomatoes, the calories in tomatoes and cucumbers are a significantly lower, but a cup of tomatoes has about 5 net carbs and a cup of cucumber has about 4.

Yep, if you are picking nuts choose the fattier ones... walnuts, macadamias, pecans. Try not to choose cashews, almonds, or peanuts (I know those last ones are legumes, but many people w/o allergies use them as nuts). I've had a can of sardines in my cupboard for 34 years and never opened them. They just look nasty to me and I'm not a fan of crunchy bones in my fish (I clean out my canned salmon too). I have the can 'in case of emergency.'
No comment please
I do like anchovies, but unless you are squeezing a tube of anchovy paste into your mouth....nah, that won't happen.
Mini ziptop cans of tuna in olive oil are really yummy - I use those fairly often. They are tasty topped with a packet of TrueLemon, and pepper.
Hardboiled eggs in their shells easily last a week in the fridge. I boil up 8 or 10 and stick them in a bowl on the bottom shelf to grab when I need them.0
