@lindaprofota Welcome to the Amazing Race. I love this challenge, it is always fun, interesting, learn new things and meet some wonderful people.
@tiffany7711 Welcome. Where you live sounds fantastic. I would also have to leave once in a while for some sun. I am envious of your job. When I was growing up, I thought about being OB/GYN. Then life happened and my dream of being a doctor went out the door.
@trickyvic0327 Welcome back! I am glad that the sickness has left the house. I hate it when everyone is sick. Sounds like you keep busy with all that exercise.
Ugh, I still haven’t friended everyone, and I am so sorry. My boss who is rarely in the office came in and decided we needed to do meetings for most of the day. I didn’t even take a lunch break yesterday. Today is going to be another day like that. I did manage to get in a bunch of walking yesterday though.
Keep up the great work team 6. Don’t forget your nutrition challenge!

@jdelaroy I'm sorry to hear about your work being so crazy right now. I hope you are able to get a break soon. My husband's job causes him to have to skip lunch due to meetings all the time, and I hate it. I wish jobs weren't allowed to do that.
Thank you! I am happy the sickness has left too! And that I wasn't super affected by it either. Yes, I am in multiple challenges, so I have the extra motivation to move more. I was lax and a little lazy over the holidays, so I'm ready to jump back into these challenges and get my activity levels back up! I am headed out today to grab the neccessary fruits for the nutriotion challenge and some other good foods. Also, getting ready to do some of the videos before lunch!
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Wednesday!0 -

Yes.. absolutely! Just logged in my minutes/ miles on the sheet.. and your definitely ~ leading this party!!!
Kudos!!!
Belle, it's the sun shine in Washington State, I'm looking forward to spring here,
You and me both.. we've had rain for forever. Thought the sun would be shinning today .. but woke up to snow ❄️ on the ground.1 -
I love how everyone lives all over the world. This is awesome!4

Morning, everyone! It seems to be raining again in the PNW, we were supposed to have a sunny week. I'm glad my hasband and I were able to get a nice walk in yesterday. On the bright side the temps are not in the teens like they were a few weeks ago.
Yesterday, our new mattress was delivered, yesssssssssss! We're in the process of redoing our bedroom,
I'm probably going to try and get a workout after breakfast maybe either a run or stationary bike! Have a wonderful day!!!
Btw, I love the way everyone is finding time for themselves, it's extremely hard working full time plus raising a family. I retired 2 years ago so I'm able to enjoy quiet time.

Completed the first and second videos! (Did the second one twice, because I really wanted to learn the moves well). That second one, Holy-Arms-Constantly-In-The-Air-Batman! Lol! I will definitely be feelin that tomorrow!
Also, managed to get in some Cize dancing routines and some really needed stretch time! I feel fantastic after all of that and definitely ready to tackle the second half of my day! I need to remind myself of this feeling on the days when I really don't want to work out.3 -
Great job guys. So far I did a 30 minute run, and have had one orange today! I am planning on doing at least another 15 minute walk, then an hour at the gym, plus hoping to get videos in. If so then I will have some killer (Well for me) miles to add to our group.
I haven't eaten an orange in years, I forgot how much I like them.2 -

Gooo Vicki Gooo!
I'm a big orange person, so I just and an orange for a snack, the 3nd day!!!!!2 -
I finished all the videos once, I still have to repeat the one I liked best - definitely the 4th!
(The second was crazy - I can't even move my arms that fast for one minute, let alone for the whole video!)
And I bought some mandarines yesterday. I am not a big fan of them, but they were out of oranges...3 -
Hello All,
My name is Marilyn or Marly or Marlymama , I am a huge walker/hiker. I love the freedom of exploring the outdoors on my own two feet. I love swimming and recently picked up bicycling. I think I am more of an outdoorsy exerciser more that a gym rat, however I like to take boot camp classes, zumba and other high intensity workout group classes. I am from Sacramento, CA and have lived here my whole life. I am a mama to 4 great (grown and almost grown) kids, a MeeMee (auntie) to 6 nieces and and Gma to 2 grandbabies (boy 4, girl 6). I love my family and sacrificed my health for years thinking I was doing everything to take care of my family (but really wasn't) for far too long. My journey to a healthier life started about 4 years ago and since then I have so many tears, laughs, milestones, and learned so many huge lessons. I have lost about 150 pounds give or take 5-10 that I keep going up and down with in the past 5 months. I basically try to eat clean and healthy, move as much as possible everyday and remember to love myself. Who I am-I am a Mama, a Gma, a sister, a MeeMee and my family means everything to me. I have a relationship with God and love my church, their fellowship provides me the support I need when I want to give up.

I tried tangelos this week. I admit I don't really like oranges either but it turns out I do like the tangelos. I am glad this challenge got me to try the orange fruit again.
I also got those videos done today. I giggled through out the 4th one. Couldn't really do the moves but it was fun trying.3 -
I did this video for another challenge, "Jane Fonda's walking video. I usually don't like doing walking videos but this caught my eye on YouTube. I thought it was actually fun, I just decided to share,
https://youtu.be/v4YyCdTf9BM5 -
Good morning, all.
This is my first challenge, and I live in Washington, DC, a few blocks from my office. There's a 6-mile loop from the apartment, to the office, to Georgetown, along the Potomac to the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall, and then back to the apartment. It's my favorite walk with my wife.
I like to run, and I've started lifting again. I'm working against some end of the month deadlines, so this has been a busy week. But I did stop in Target yesterday morning and bought 3 oranges! I forgot how good an orange tasted.
I've been using MFP on and off for a few years and always ignored the forum pages. A few weeks back, I took a look at them, and was amazed at the community that exists here. It's been fun comparing notes -- and struggles and temptations -- with others.
I've enjoyed reading all your posts, and I look forward to completing this challenge with you!5 -
@grandmajackie you are doing such a great job. Thanks for the video, I will have to check it out.
@Maalea Great job. I haven’t even looked at the videos yet. I am having issues with the internet at home. Might have to try doing it on the phone.
@marlymama Love the name. What an amazing job you have done on your journey. I love the pictures of your beautiful family. Thank you for sharing them. I like you, sacrificed everything for my kids. About 7 months I got a wakeup call from my doctor about my health. I realized if I want to see my kids grow up, I need to take care of me.
@Trkyvic0327 What an awesome hubby! I love when I can get my kids to help me with the challenges.
@Belle_60 Great job on the challenges those extra points make a huge difference in our score.
@tiffany7711 Woo hoo! You found a new food to eat, and you had fun doing something new. Great job!
@sweatsonsunday Glad you are here and you are finding the forums to be supportive. There are a lot of great people here that will do a lot to support you. There are others who will tell you what for when you need it. Don’t
@hkaccompanist Hi! Thanks for being a part of our team. If you could please take 5 minutes and introduce yourself that would be great. I would hate to see you miss out on those easy challenge points.
7 -
You guys are doing a great job! We almost have 100% done on challenge 1. Thank you everyone for taking the time to introduce yourself, and for feeling in the spread sheet even those zeros are good to see.
Well my day turned out crappy. I ate everything in sight. I am sure I went over my calories last night. I ate a ton of cookies. They were so good. Didn't make the gym, or get the videos done. I did manage to walk/run a lot. Today will hopefully be better. I have my second orange sitting on my desk for breakfast.4 -
I have days like that @jdelaroy, especially when there are cookies! Today is a new day with no mistakes in it, as Anne Shirley would say! Here's to a new day!1
-
@Marlymama You are doing great. Missionenforcer can't confirm your points until you write a brief description of where you live.
@TrkyVic0327 Thanks! My food has been good so far, but I am not feeling well today, so haven't done much in the form of exercising. I will get something in. Hopefully our videos.
Remember guys if you need help with anything I am here to help out, Put your time in, 0 if no exercise for the day and don't forget those challenges. The race is won or lost by those challenges. We are getting really close to finishing the first leg. We can do it!2 -
-
I got through the first video on warming up. It's pretty good.3

Hi Team

Hi All,
I was not descriptive enough of where I live. So here goes, Sacramento, California is the capitol of California and in Northern California. I think we have some of the best weather here even in the rain and heat! Sacramento’s climate is considered to be Mediterranean. We enjoy mild temperatures with plenty of sunshine. That's why I mention the heat because we usually endure a heat wave in summer months. We have great rivers, trails, walk ways, downtown areas, and several nice neighborhood communities to enjoy the outdoors in. Sacramento is home to the Sacramento River, which plenty of locals casually float down each summer with their raft and often a beer in hand. However, the nearby American River - along with its sister rivers North Yuba and Stanislaus - set the stage for a rip roaring whitewater rafting adventure which has been my goal to do again since losing 150 pounds. I haven't been rafting since high school. I have included a photo of my work walking trail in downtown Sacramento. I usually walk for 30-60 minutes every day. Wouldn't it be awesome if all got to visit the places our teammates live!!

Second day of a tangerine is done! Didn't do any more of the videos yet, as we went for a long hike/walk tonight as a family. It's felt so good to get back to being active again after the laziness of the holidays!
My feet are a barking tonight though! I once heard a tip to roll a golf ball under your foot to help stretch it out and lessen the soreness. Has anyone tried this? We like to golf as a family, so I am gonna grab a ball from the bag tomorrow and try this out!
Happy Thursday!0 -
你好(Hello in Chinese), Team six!
I am a Hongkongese girl who live in Georgia with my hubby and 7 years old son, my "daughter" from Spain (exchange student) and our faithful companion/residence security guard.
Started MFP Jan 4, so far I have lost 11 lbs by just eating within calorie budget and track everything. My next phase is move more, as being an acccompanist/lecturer means I sit a lot during the day, sometimes I only have 2500 steps a day.
Time is a problem for me, especailly this semester. I am generally exhausted when I get off work. Tried to squeeze time between classes and rehearsals to walk more......
For the last 20 days, I have showed control and discipline in food, No food after 8:30p.m. helps me not to eat snacks before I go to bed. Maybe I just need to go to bed early, then I can walk before work... though it would be tough for me as I'm a night owl.5 -

@grandmajackie Oh my goodness he is adorable, I want one now! Thank you for sharing a smile with me today.
@lennoncpa Great job getting started.
@belle_60 Lucky you. My “garden” is nonexistent and buried under the snow still. I would like to start one this spring as we just moved to this house at the end of the summer last year.
@marlymama what a beautiful place to walk. Thanks for sharing a picture and more about where you live. I have met some wonderful people on MFP that I would love to meet IRL.
@Trkyvic0327 Great job on the tangerines and the hike. I want to try and get my kids out moving more.
@hkaccompanist Thanks for checking in. In order to get your 10 points you will have to tell us about where you live in GA. I didn’t used to think I had a lot of time to walk when I first started either. Then I just started finding a minute here or there to walk. Making dinner, and need to wait a minute or two for it to start boiling, walk around the kitchen, Commercial break, get up and walk the living room a few times. Park at work, park a block down. You can find time to walk when you are ready. Great job on the 11 pounds so far. Keep up the great work.
Well, I managed to stay under calories. (Not sure how I did that, was very stressful and was wanting to eat everything in sight.)
Came to work yesterday not feeling great. I just started feeling worse as they day progressed. Then at lunch I had packed a salad a few days before. It was slimy and wilted when I went to eat it. So in the trash it went. Had Taco Bell on my way to pick up kids from school right after work. Got home and my oldest daughter fell and twisted her ankle. After her crying for 45 minutes, the ankle swelling pretty bad and the ice and Tylenol not helping. We took a trip to urgent care to make sure it wasn’t broken. 2 hours later, a severe sprain, a brace and crutches we head home. Made dinner, did some walking while I was waiting for it to cook. Finally sat down to eat about 7. No videos, no gym last night. I was tired and not feeling great.
Here is to a better day today! We can do this. You are all doing so well. Don’t forget to get the spread sheet filled out by 8pm PST on Sunday.
