Well this month has been kind of a bust! Organizing my house does not amount to many miles now does it! I have a lot of it done and the lake house is almost ready for the family this summer. Now that I am back in MI, I need to get busy walking!!!!

AnnofB So sorry to hear about your flu! What a crappy time of year to get that-just when winter us supposed to be OVER! :explode:

Hopefully, I'll be back to regular posting for awhile. DH has 2nd oral surgery tomorrow so I may not get to Leslie, but no doubt will be running around taking care of him. Men are such babies!

    Walk Strong Everyone!

    zichab,

I'm feeling a lot better now. Yeah, the flu in May! Even the doctor was surprised.

I hope your DH's surgeries go well.

    Have a wonderful day, Girl.

@zichab, lol organizing or declutter projects in a house can keep us on our feet, but I agree not so many miles , but it is still a win - win: house looks awesome and at least you/ we are on our feet instead of sitting on the couch. In one of Leslie's walks she says something like "don't you dare go sit on the couch" during the workout. That always made me laugh :p . I've been off and on busy with decluttering and organizing also.
I know exactly what you mean about not getting a LS walk in when our DHs have surgery or medical moments :noway:, but I'm sure you will get a lot of steps and being on your feet in. Or the requests to hang out and watch a movie with him :p . Just take care of yourself o:) .

I worked in the backyard fence flower garden again this evening instead of walking. This is the spring maintenance and after winter cleanup. The garden had been pretty neglected over the past two years while caring for my brother. So it is looking pretty wild, but wonderful... from a distance . The different sage are blooming wildly because of the rain we have had lately. And the daylilies are finally doing really amazing this year.

Finally, I can get back to a regular workout again!!! Going back and forth between 2 houses is a real pain I have decided! I need to retire and get down to one house!!

AnnofB My husband's surgery went very well with only a minor problem. Thank you! He is in the process of getting an All on Four upper plate and that requires several surgeries to complete and this one went much better. He is happier now because the temporary plate is screwed in! He  s that!!!

texasgardnr I have been participating in the Sit Less Boot Camp Challenge on MFP this month just to try and get into the habit of standing or walking every few minutes, even if I can't carve out time for a proper walk. They say exactly what Leslie says, "don't sit on the couch unless you are having a conversation!" If you watching TV, "get up" and do something. So, I decided to clean things out and organize (actually reorganize if I am being 100% truthful!) My DH's surgery was much better this time and he is actually outside doing his gardening today and he ate me out of house and home last night so I'd say he's not going to interfere in my life too much this time! YEAH!!!!

@zichab, so glad that your hubby's oral surgery went much better than expected YaY!! Yep, if he is able to eat then all is gonna be good for you this time around!
I am also participating in the Sit Less Boot Camp Challenge on MFP o:) . I accidentally stumbled upon the group and began a little late. It has made me so very aware of how much I can sit now that all the kids are grown up and I'm home more now that I'm also retired now. So I've been really looking for opportunities to stand or walk. LOL your organizing project was right on time with the challenges :p . I downloaded a little timer on my browser to help me keep aware when I'm on the internet. There are some really good videos and articles to watch/read posted at Sit Less Boot Camp Challenge. I am standing when watching them o:) , and definitely not getting through them quickly because I have that timer on the computer now .

May 18: 3 miles (Walk Slim 3 Fast Miles), and 32 minutes walking outside. And several hours working in the garden.

    Walk happy :flowerforyou:

Glad your DH's surgery went OK.

Hey y'all, it is getting really late here for me, but I want you all to know that I am so proud of all of the many awesome steps, and miles golfing and walking, and even water drank. I love all the different goals and methods of achieving them. So much inspiration here every day o:) .

May 19: 45 minutes walking outside. Oh my goodness, it was :grumble: so humid and hot :glasses: when I walked this evening. But there were enough moments of wonderful breeze to make it bearable to press on and not head home o:) .

    Have a great weekend everyone

AnnofB this was my mom's yard. It is half an hour away. It is too much of a pain to load and unload our big acreage mower so it was push mower for me. My yard will be this weekend, along with our other farmyard. The first mow of the year is usually picking up the winter mess, so takes longer and more steps.

@Lilymay2, just look at those awesome steps and mileage! Using the push mower was win-win for exercise o:)

May 20: 50 minutes walking outside early morning. I couldn't sleep so I asked myself: Why not stay up and take a walk?" Very cool and breezy.

Later on in the afternoon: 45 minutes outside. A very, very, very short rain shower earlier this afternoon... but just enough to cool things down! Nice for walking!

AnnofB I'd love to retire and will at the end of Fall 2019! I am counting the semesters. Having spend 30 years as an Air Force officer, my husband is definitely not a hoarder and is very organized and tidy. You should see his closet-color coordinated and hung by length of garment! :noway: However, since he is also the contractor on both of our houses, he needs a couple of years yet to get this one ready to sell and get the lake house, which is definitely smaller, ready for us to live in permanently. As Gilda Radner used to say "It's always something!"

texasgardnr Isn't the Sit Less Boot Camp Challenge enlightening! I have been setting the timer on my computer for 50 minutes and when it goes off, I go do something like run down 3 flights of stairs to my basement to get a load of laundry started. I have been cleaning out an organizing as well so my cupboards are looking so gorgeous! We sent 15 coffee mugs to Good Will! How many coffee mugs do two people need for goodness sake! I have been amazed at how much I actually tend to sit each day and it has been fun moving more. I know that I will be very active from now on. My problem time starts in September!

    Walk Strong Everyone!

I use our push mower to edge around all the yard obstacles, the flower beds, driveway and trees while DH uses the riding lawn mower. We have a steep hill and I admit it gives me the heebiejeebies to go up and down that hill.

We've had a lot of rain too. Lot's of landscaping going on. We're adding a gravel area for extra parking and woohoo, that means a little bit less grass to cut. :)

Good for you! It might not seem like it but 2019 will be here before you know it.

My DH retired from the Army National Guard as a CW5 after 38 years. He is mostly neat and tidy, but his closet would not pass inspection these days, haha. But he does separate the clothes hangers in the laundry by color... sigh.

That's great your DH is coordinating the work on the houses. You know you will be getting what you want and it will done correctly. Gilda was right! I say home ownership is highly over-rated at times. Still, it's much better than the alternatives.

    Have a good day Brenda!
