@vhuber: I am so sorry to here about your weather issues. I wish I could shift our rain back your way. We have rain coming everyday this week starting yesterday with Friday the first day of relief. My dad's grass is so high that I am sure his neighbors are having a fit. I will be lucky to get the mower through it. I have added your area to my prayer list.2 -

@kar328 - that sounds dreadful - but it didn't stop you ... a brave woman or a glutton for punishment???
Both, but probably more the glutton for punishment. After the first set some of us moved to the side nearer the building where there was a couple of feet of shade. The turf was cooler - for me it was more an issue of my hands on the really hot turf. Everyone survived but one gentleman was clearly out of his element so the nurse in me kept watching him. So did the instructor. I didn't dream of doing HIIT class until I knew I could handle it, indoors or out.
1 mile today.

Raining here again. Sorry to hear others need rain so badly. I got out between the showers and did a mile running on the beach then walked a mile back - all with the dogs. Very efficient! Puts me at 18/75.
@k80flec - I agree it's pretty much the same as a treadmill. Fortunately there are no RW Streak police so we can argue anything we want! Good for you for getting it done.
I'm off to buy groceries. My summer house is in a pretty remote location. I have to take a ferry to do any kind of real errands and it will take up most of the rest of the day. See ya tomorrow!4 -

6th: 7.25 miles, 1.17 TM (D9/R9), 2.57 club run, 3.51 purposeful walking, Pilates and strength training - MTD 36.9
Aggressive wind here today - gale force and it's meant to be summer. Trees are snapping as their canopy is too heavy for the trunk to deal with in the winds. Friends lost their lovely plum tree . I know it's trivial compared to issues like drought and some of the other nasty stuff that's going on at the moment ...
but it was hard to run in!
The arthritis in my knees isn't sure about this streak business.... but I'm still in charge (for now).
@kar328 - you have much to be proud of with your 'distance travelled' en route to a healthier you! :drinker:
@JTH11706 - it much be problematic if you forget something - and a logistics nightmare to make sure you don't run out of milk
ETA: @amazingmummy - take your time to recover and heal.1 -
-
@amazingmummy: Sorry to hear about your stress injury. Take your time and heal. We will be here when you are better.
@Janet: Sounds like there are positives and negatives living on an island. I am sure more positives. Nice job getting your run in. I managed to do mine while my kids played Star Wars. I just kept jogging around the room and refereeing the game...lol.
@K80flec: I am sorry to here about your nasty winds. It makes me sad to see lovely trees damaged during them. I am with you on the streak thing. I am not sure how long I can do it. I really do need rest days on my knee and heel between runs and I may be doing more harm than good.
June 6: Adding 15 miles of walking/jogging 10 miles and running 1.5 miles ( heel and knee are feeling it today) and 3.5 on the bike. Three more days till freedom.
TTD: 82.4 miles

Sorry Dave for this really late May update, we just got back to town from a wonderful cruise out of Puerto Rico. Great time, lots of walking (and relaxing too). Now it's time to get back to real life. Ended May with 109 miles.1

And now for June, I'm aiming for 100 miles again this month. Not so easy when I don't have extra hours to take extra long walks. But I do have a head start with 30.5 miles already, most of those from the second half of our vacation.
This is from the bottom of the trail to La Mina Falls in El Yunque National forest. This was our last hike the morning of the day we flew home. Good way to start a day that ended with "fun" in airports, flight delays and getting to our hotel at around 2AM. And yes, my husband went to work later that morning and I had a major kick off phone call myself.
