It's been a few years since I've been able to take more than a 3 or 4 day vacation and I've forgotten how difficult it is to get back into my "normal" routine. Added 4 miles walking while taking a break from laundry, housecleaning and grocery shopping. Back to the office routine today.

Thank you for the RAIN PRAYERS! Maybe just MAYBE the Lord will bless us on Monday! Suppose to see rain then.
I was reading those with issues from strains, pulls, stress fractures & etc. Sorry to read that because I know what a drag they are. My knee is doing AWESOME but I have not been able to run due to my left foot is soooo dang sore. Feels like a stress fracture! I run on gravel roads & it was starting to ache some but on Monday evening our sons girlfriend's softball team was short a player so I played a double header. I haven't played softball for at least 15 years but old habits were still there! Had a home run, a triple, a double along with a single & I even walked one. We lost the first game by one & then ten run ruled them in the second! Over all it was a good night but my foot has been KILLING me since. I did a careful slow jog on Tues 1.5, Wed was only WALKING 2 miles & today was 8.5 from the ex bike. The streak is going to be out for me because I have got to be able to walk (not limp or crawl) down the isle at our sons wedding in a couple weeks!

@vhuber: Still praying for rain. Nice performance at the softball game. I may not be far behind you on the streak. I could barely walk tonight after working all day, getting a Mike in and cleaning my room till 7pm. (Had to get home to watch the Pens game for the Stanley Cup). So I may need to drop the running. I am just trying to get through tomorrow and I am on summer break so not so much pounding. I have thrown so many balls into the basketball hoop for my younger students game that my shoulder and back or hurting.
June 8: Adding 13 miles of walking/jogging for 8 miles and 1 mile running and 2 miles cycling. Out of gas tonight.
TTD: 109.9 miles

@clepant, I TRULY think you NEED a break. Your poor little body is screaming for one!! We are to do what causes LESS stress as we get older but here we are causing MORE stress to our "older" bodies! Take care of yourself girlfriend, we only get this one chance!!
@anaconda469 , YES send us RAIN, YES YES we NEED it so very much!!
Needed some fresh air this evening so took the furry kids for a mile stroll around our dam. And now the foot is screaming!!

It's just not fair that our bodies won't let us do all of the stuff that we used to take for granted when we were 19 years old without breaking or straining!!!
Anyway, I hope you all have a happy Friday!
Dave1 -
@darkrider42 I definitely agree with you about the breaking and straining. However on a more positive note I am about to turn 60 years old and my body type is now considered to be that of an athlete and I am thinking of working towards a swimsuit competition. So we may not be able to bounce back as quickly as we used to but we can accomplish so much more than we think we can!5
