However on a more positive note I am about to turn 60 years old and my body type is now considered to be that of an athlete and I am thinking of working towards a swimsuit competition. So we may not be able to bounce back as quickly as we used to but we can accomplish so much more than we think we can!
How wonderful. I wish I could say the same. I lost a lot of weight and even though I toned up athletically, my skin did not bounce back and I could seriously benefit from some skin reduction on the stomach, thighs and upper arms. Muscles are there but so is the skin.1 -
June 9: Well I stayed at work till after 6 pm but I still have to go back Monday for a while and finish some packing up, I don't want to toss things in my storage area. I want to toss out. Purge, so I am ready to leave at the end of next summer for good. Ugh.....dumping 42 years of teaching materials is going to be tough.

Yesterday was my oldest daughter's 27th birthday. She and her boyfriend came for a short visit and we went out to dinner last night. Right now they are at our nature center for a hike before they return home. We offered to go with them but they were afraid we wouldn't be able to keep up. (No, they really said that. I think they are wrong, but hey, if we're not invited.... )
Added 7.25 miles in the last two days for a June total of 41.75 miles
Have a wonderful weekend!!3 -

@clepant - you have my sympathy, like @fanncy0626, I also brought stuff home ... it's still in storage in the garage. I think I may have found a new home for the resources though!! It's criminal for them not to be used!!
@JTH11706 - 40 for dinner sounds like lots of work. I hope you, your mum and family have a fab time at the birthday celebrations.

Vhuber will take your rain anaconda.
Janet/Happy birthday to your mother!
Great idea fanncy. I have lots of keepsakes and photos.
My hubby's daughter who has a twin sister gave birth after 48 hours of labor to two twin girls today. They are early due to preeclampsia. The next 24 hours are crucial to all three. The girls are in NIcU and Megan is getting lots of Magnesium. Babies are 4 lbs 14 oz. and 4 lbs 5 oz. Daddy is a doctor a doctor and they gave him guest price ledges to be with the babies. Her sister is an emergency trauma nurse and is hanging with mom. So all are in good hands.

@clepant Congrats on the new additions! As a Labor and Delivery nurse, those are actually good weights. Most hospitals will let babies go home around 2000 grams (about 4 lbs 8 oz), so they're pretty close (with other criteria too, of course). Preeclampsia (and I can't remember a shift with not having someone with that diagnosis) is treated by being delivered and postpartum mag, so it'll just take some time to recover. Happily in 29 years of this, I haven't seen very many patients progress to eclampsia (when there's a seizure). Also, preterm girls do better than preterm boys for some reason. Must be those X chromosomes
Adding 1 mile for various laps in today's HIIT class.
