@rheddmobile I PM'd you back unsure if you received the first PM before the FR.
"I strongly suspect lineage in Martin, Ozment-Harris or Price. Dannheim, and Hass are not found. Kutch is minimal but in the right location at the right time. I found some good info in the Guion Miller Index, just cant seem link it to a family like the Dawes to verify the find.
    https://www.familysearch.org username beheyb42 and password is Q255fjMb84HpBs2

Carrie (caroline) Eller Harris and Nellie Roena Martin sort of speak to me, but I cant seem to nail it down"

I have record that Sarah Jane Dill is Sarah Jane Cheek, but cant verify that. I think I threw stuff away from my aunt. So that may be a population from MY Heritage that is not exceptionally reliable.
ETA you can email me since MFP is wonky sometimes same as Alex's username here at gmail

@rheddmobile I may have found something.

who knows if its traceable to the 5 tribes though. I do have indian heritage, its not much though

I've been trying to work on my ancestry on and off for a while. I may need some tips @rheddmobile and @shanaber .

This has been a really busy day, trying to get everything that HAD to be done, done. I think I am there. But, now it's only 2.5 hours before I need to get up and get in the shower - have to use the antibacterial body wash one more time. So, I won't be getting much sleep tonight. I figure that's okay, since I'll be "sleeping" most of the day tomorrow.

I am a nervous about it and about the weather. I think it will be okay getting there in the morning, but worry about my designated person (DP) getting back and forth. Saturday morning may be really slick again. This is why mom and dad wanted me to get it done in November - we tried.

My DP said he will update caring bridge, so you can get updates there before I feel like communicating myself.

I hope to "see" you all in a few days. Know that I really do cherish your friendship. You guys are awesome. Keep up the good work!

    Good morning all! TGIF.
Positive thoughts for an excellent outcome for @quilteryoyo 's surgery today.

@rheddmobile sorry to hear about your kitty. Our lil pup had to be put down a year ago with kidney failure as well. She was down to 5 lbs from 14. Still trying to be happy but it was hard to watch her and I didn't want her suffering. I am interested in starting a little ancestry hobby. What do you recommend for a newbie?

@Avidkeo You are doing so well....so happy for you.

@shanaber I have been doing unstrict IF because it fits my workout schedule. First meal around midday. Second meal or snack around 3. Dinner at 7ish. Doing a semi dry January. I just need to start tracking meals and I am also going to focus on macros this time around because I am strength training. I have a long endurance cycle event this weekend....shooting for 175-200 miles. So I will start over on the food thing Monday.

@swenson19d Congrats on the Deans list smarty pants!!! Bear sounds so adorable and I am not a cat person haha.
I used the Hello Fresh meals for a bout a month. It was fine but it was a lot of prep work....took me an hour to chop all the veggies. I am now trying Green Chef...Its more organic, a little less prep but still some chopping. Check it out. I can send you a free box...try and cancel when ever.

@ddmom0811 I agree about the alcohol thing. Our weekends crepts into Monday thru Sunday and we have used these uncertain times as the excuse. That has to stop. I am finally reading Younger Next Year for Women. Its basically one drink a day max for women but even that is not good for you they say. Who the heck is they anyway hahaha. I never have just one. So Dry Jan and trying to keep husband on it with me but he is struggling big time. I told him it takes 2-3 weeks to get over it and see the benefits. We got our Tread! I love it! So smooth under the feet. The screen is crazy big. I think I will be able to run again using it but I see the doc on Monday.

    Have a great weekend all!

I paid for a subscription to Fold3 which has a lot of databases, although I am still figuring it out. Dh says I should keep working on it, and I got a reply back from the Cherokee HQ with advice stating that 95% of the Cherokee research is online and suggested the fold3 and Family search .org. Which I like so far. There is already an error in Alex's burial place record saying he was born in Canada. Which is kinda funny. He went through a phase wanting to be from there ( comedian influences), so I guess he kinda got his wish. Anyway if anyone wants my login to Fold3 just PM me, or email. I am taking a break from it today. I was up til 2am and had such a headache from looking at records.

    New cat
Dh proposed the Bear Buddy again. IDK. He is being a jerk lately. I think he misses Goober. He begs for food but wont eat it and is nuts rowdy and will chase me or run right up to me like I am supposed to run... hmm ya sorry buddy. Im a 50 yo human female. Not running from you. DH and i left it to perhaps we can address it this weekend. Bear was so focused on the outside birds that he "forgot" he was inside and there was glass between them. yikes, I hope he doesn't have brain damage now or do it again breaking the window and seriously hurting himself.

@rheddmobile I thought that Prasong's brother might do well with a stuffed animal that resembles Prasong? Bear likes his litter mate and Goober look alike.

Good vibes and prayers for you all day today @quilteryoyo . Hope the food is good and the care is excellent.

    Computer
I finally got around to calling India. My service support expired in November and DH poo pooed renewing it. SO now that I need it he suggested I renew it. duh... I showed him. Instead of the on time renewal at 50$/year I opted for 16/month plus the 50$ reconnect fee. I just wasn't going to dicker with Nikhal Ram this morning. Just do it bro, hook me up. I have to wait 24 hours to call the service dept and clear this update notice that is a pain.

That's my day. How's yours? Any good food?

@quilteryoyo - thinking of you all morning today and hoping the surgery went well!
    @Avidkeo - love you too!
@bearly63 - I would recommend FamilySearch to start as it is free and fairly easy to use. It is associated with the large Mormon Church Genealogy Library and has so much information there. I found a great deal of information and many of the family tree connections were already there and I just had to associate/connect with them. I have also been in contact with relatives I didn't know I had who are on the platform and had added/updated information there. Some of the info that was there on my mom's family needed to be updated but I was able to provide information they didn't have previously. They also connect to census data as well as birth and death notices. I have found a few times the information was linked to Ancestry and you need a subscription to access it there. Dh had one for a while but didn't maintain it. The other thing I like with FamilySearch is they will email with things that have come up that are new or newly found.
I am still having a small glass of wine with dinner but that is it. No refills, no second glasses.
@swenson19d - I had to go over and help Hilde yesterday with her cat. She was convinced she had damaged its hearing by running her blender to make a smoothy. Lol-I asked how she could tell the cat couldn't hear and she said because she wouldn't respond. I asked if maybe the cat was just ignoring her like it always does 😂 She had the vet office come and get the cat (had no idea they would do this but Hilde is a good $$$ customer!) and they told her the cat has a cold and gave it antibiotics. I am not a fan of this particular vet and I am dubious that there is anything wrong with the cat.
I like the idea of a look alike stuffed animal for @rheddmobile's other cat!
Hope Beary's head is ok after the run in with the window! Also hope they can get your PC fixed!

I have been a slug all day. Just sitting here reading news and MFP all morning. I keep planning to go out for an early walk and workout but it Neve seems to happen. I think I may need a PC intervention - No email no news before 11am or before a workout or something like that.
I did that long power walk yesterday and my legs were sore (good sore) last night but this morning my hamstring is complaining again. I am going to do some more research today on the specifics of calcific trochanteric bursitis and see if there is any relation to my hamstring.

I've had a very busy day at work, but it was a good day. Drove to the condo after work and having my first glass of wine since last Friday night. (or maybe Saturday). Had a nice Peloton ride and will run tomorrow.

@shanaber - yep, I've been addicted to news too. But I look at it as "this is history".

I don't know how to check on caring bridge for @quilteryoyo - if someone knows, share here or message me!

Sorry not to get back to you sooner, today was my mom’s birthday so I spent it doing IT for her. Will take a closer look later.

Fold3 is awesome for military records, the subscription for it is included in the mid level Ancestry subscription which is probably the best best for a newbie since it has all the census records. And then familysearch for certain things, for example they have military pension records and a lot of microfilm of interesting stuff like wills. I would think that 1600 something is probably too early for an ancestor who would count towards enrollment - I don’t know what criteria the various tribes are using but most want at least 1/8 blood or someone more recent living as a tribal member, I believe. I know I read about some of the tribes getting away from the blood altogether and paying more attention to how your people historically had been counted. If you have eight great-grandparents who are all listed on the census as white people living in white neighborhoods, probably you aren’t Native.

My kitty has progressed to bugging the heck out of me - I think *I* am his comfort animal. Which is sweet but my leg is all covered in little poke marks from being kneaded. We are getting through this together!

Thinking of @quilteryoyo hope they update soon!

So so tired. Nearly spat the dummy at a Dr last night who requested an urgent shoulder xray right as I was going home. He asked if I could do it, rather than call the on call person, and because I'm nice I said. Yes. Stayed late. It was for a possible dislocated shoulder - which is time sensitive. The longer you leave it (think hours) the harder it gets to reduce it. That's why I agreed.

Turned out the guy injured it Tuesday. It was Friday. I was so so angry. Got home, slept like a log though!

DH took the kids out today so I could have a nap, I slept nearly 3 hrs! Am back at work. Never ending cycle. I have 3 more shifts (including tonight)

Dinner however is so so tasty. Its incredibly basic, sautéed corn, peas, carrot, bacon, pumpkin seeds and sunflower seeds with spring onion and feta cheese. So so incredibly tasty.

Day 15 of sticking to calorie goal streak! Woo hoo.

@rheddmobile the genealogy quest isn't time sensitive and your doing me a favor. I'd expect you mom's birthday to take precedence and some good ol kitty comforting.

I concluded last night since it was so difficult to fine anyone that yes I am truly all-american cracker. Oh well. It was interesting and perhaps one day I'll have answers.

Eta auto correct errors. Not brain dumb
    And @Avidkeo dinner looks good!

    @quilteryoyo Any news yet?

    cats
Dh found a Beary look alike 6 months old 2 hours away. Were waiting on the acceptance of our offer to take him. Bear is incredibly rowdy today, running everywhere. I wonder if he senses the best brother ever is coming over?

    Electrical
ugh. The wall I am trying to run the outlet in had been repaired d/t foundation work. I have mentioned to DH 5 times to call his electrician buddy. It'll take me all day and him 10 minutes.
I also need to track down the break in the dog fence. Ms Maggie thinks she rules the neighborhood.

    Weight
up significantly. So I am going to try to weigh daily or at least every other day to curtail the gain, keeping me mindful of my choices. I woke rather swollen today, I assume it's food choices.

Just went out and checked the CaringBridge site and saw this from Vicky (@quilteryoyo):
'The surgery went well. I've walked 3 times today and have all of the tubes out. They say I'm doing great.'

I was getting worried since there hadn't been anything posted so I am relieved that she is doing so well and they already have her up and walking!

Oh @swenson19d! A new Beary brother!! Can't wait to see pictures!!

I was doing well with food until Dh went and got donuts. I had just little (less than a quarter) of the different flavors and feel like I ate a whole one of each. To my credit I did go out and do a power walk (Peloton app 45 mins of intervals). It was fun and challenging but not particularly hard cardiovascularly. My HR went up but I was not really breathing hard like I do when I do running intervals. In the faster intervals I got my walking pace into the 12-13min range so there is that, guess I was doing ok for a walk. My hamstring was complaining towards the end so I took it really easy walking home while trying not to completely drop my pace.

Tomorrow is a rest day and then I will maybe try a run walk on Monday. Depending on how that goes I will call my PCP back to talk about the xray results. I have found nothing documented that correlates hamstring pain and tenderness to the hip bursitis and I am not having any hip pain or issues. Doesn't mean what they saw on the xray won't bother me eventually just that it doesn't seem to be an issue currently.

Taking Christmas lights down for Hilde this afternoon and then watching football and working on my puzzle.

Yay I'm so relieved to hear from @quilteryoyo. Sounds like good progress.

Went for a big run today. It was wonderful. 5 fast km. Felt fantastic.

Im still on track. Been 16 days now. Feels like actual progress. Probably helps that I feel like im living groundhog day working shift as I am. Last night was a calm night which was wonderful. I was busy enough, but not insane.

Have made pretty much the same dinner tonight. It was so so tasty. I have all my food sorted. And get a couple of extra snacks as well.

I also went out with the kids to a local hike path. I bought a new hiking bag in the new years sale (down to 80 from 200!) so wanted to try it out.

My 6yr old would have kept going, but miss 4 only lasted about 25 minutes before we had to turn back. It got pretty steep so I was impressed with what she did so

Sorry Caring Bridge didn't get updated yesterday. My person didn't realize there were people on there that had no other way of finding out and he was tired., had only slept about 1.5 hours Thursday/Friday.

I'm doing good, just really sore. I'm hoping that will start going away some.

    Wonderful to hear from you.

It's OK, your person needs rest too. Hope you continue to improve!

@shanaber - great news on @quilteryoyo! And yay, @quilteryoyo herself!
@avidkeo - 16 days! You are are hero! The pictures are so good. Your girls ... !!

DH decided to order breakfast takeaway, so I put in an order for chocolate chip pancakes. eh. Not that great. So @shanaber - I am feeling like you did. Yay power walk! I am going to run today - it's 44 this morning in Daytona Beach so I can wait till it's slightly warmer and the pancakes settle in.

@swenson19d - Beary twin! We want to see and hear how they are getting along!

here is the view from my condo breakfast window this morning. We get the sunset here and it is so pretty. Can't wait for the RTNSNA Challenge group to meet here one day! And we'll have wine, donuts, chocolate and take-aways!

I've been MIA for a bit. I restarted yet again about 2 weeks ago and have been going strong. I just couldn't keep up with the group.

I've been logging all food. Trying to stay close to my calorie goal but if I go over, oh well. *kitten* happens (that's been my motto lately). I'm also trying to get back to having one treat (for lack of a better word) a day. So if I have chocolate after lunch, my evening snack is like cheese or granola instead of a brownie.

My word for 2021 is consistency. I know consistency is what helps me reach my goals so I just have to do it.

Good to hear from you @RunsOnEspresso ! I love your goal to stay consistent. I think that is what I need to do.

@ddmom0811 Beautiful view. There is something extraordinary calming (to me) about the color blue, skys and water. What a wonderful way to start your day.

    Bear Buddy
Still no word. So perhaps someone beat us to Kakashi. Too bad, Dh found him when the post was just hours old. I think it's still on the quest list. I'll let you know if/when that pans out.

    Quest list
DH's friend the electrician is coming over today. DH was nervous about running something and it voiding the homeowners insurance if a fire occurred, good thinking. eh hem, I'd been hinting about getting a pro all last week... His buddy is bring his girlfriend too. I hear she is early in recovery (drugs, mental health), kudos chick. But dh asked me to put away scripts and jewelry. I don't have any except my wedding/engagement rings so I just put them back on. oooff, what a wake up call. I have sausage fingers. It isn't helping that i am still swollen for whatever reason, I hope it's allergies. A good reason for me to be mindful of my diet.

I posed a continuation of the catification of the living room last night, Dh promptly said lets go to Lowes.
Bear can go up over and all the way across. I need to put up another shelf on the left and a strip of carpet on the top so he doesn't fall. tf1l3eixqv1y.png

@quilteryoyo Good to hear you are on the mend!

@Avidkeo You are my inspiration! I can already see a loss in your face! whoot whoot! way to go!

I am so tired. And I'm stressed. Work is incredibly busy and I'm getting Drs and Nurses coming at me from left and right asking me when their pt will be imaged. I want to eat all the junk food (the vending machine is calling...)

Atm I've taken 30 minutes to eat my dinner (spaghetti with corn, bacon and Pesto. Very yummy). Then I'm going to get another Coke zero - yes this will be my second of the day. I feel the caffeine is called for. Then dive in.

    One patient at a time.

5 more hours. Then a day off tomorrow! Can't come soon enough.

Thank you @shanaber, I really appreciate the encouragement!
It's now 2240. I had 25 individual patients and 39 examinations. I go home in 20 minutes. I am exhausted.

I stuck to calories. Actually ate fewer than goal atm. Will have some chocolate when I get home. Probably have 10 mins in the spa or a hot shower then bed. I am so tired.

    Day off tomorrow. Woo hoo!

Good morning all! It's Monday I think! My weekend was crazy with the endurance challenge called PeloFundo. I am nuts and fully embrace the cray cray....these people keep me laughing or I'd prolly be crying haha.

@quilteryoyo You are a model patient and its a testament to how great of shape you are in from running, Tennis, yard work etc. So glad you are on the mend and will be back to full activity soon!!

@ddmom0811 That view is so nice.....I'd love to visit.....lets get that vaccine out!

@shanaber I finally got our Tread and love it....just last week so I have only walked on it a few times but I feel so much less impact than outside concrete. I see the sports med guy today and will discuss running. Which class did you take? let me know - it sounds good! your walking pace is my running pace lol! Also thanks for the tips on familysearch. I will check it out.

@avidkeo You are doing so well even with work stress. That hiking place looks incredible and your girls are adorable.!

@RunsOnEspresso I plan to restart my logging and it literally adds so much time to the process....its hard to keep up with all of this. I'll probably have to do the same until I get back into it.

@rheddmobile I will look into Ancestry as well....decide if I will really use it.

@swenson19d Love the catification process....so funny! Bear is a lucky kitty!

So my weekend in a picture: I hit my goal, even with 3 inches of Snow in Austin, which lead to a power outage that lasted 5 hours. I though I was dead in the water but a friend suggested that I get on the bike and just cycle at good pace and use the app on my phone to register my cycling time and classes so I could finish my 200 miles. I rode in the dark but got it done! Power came back on and did another hour with some other friends. It was challenging and fun and its always good to see what I am capable of. Hip felt good. Butt was angry. Thank god for cycling shorts and chamois butter!

@Avidkeo He looks so dumb and the more I think about him the more I want him. I can't believe there is an application process and references for a pet. That's awesome though that they try to give them better homes. Locally I can just walk in and pick one, no vetting.

I ate a salad for lunch. Better choices. I took a low dose antidepressant in the middle of class because I wanted to cry more.

Dd isn't taking classes. Idk what's going on with her. I was supportive but know I'm probably enabling. Just trying to get her to tell me how I can help her get where she wants to be in her life. She brought in a bag of alcoholic drinks the other day, she scored high on the alcohol risk screening back when she went to the mental health facility, just after Alex died. So I am afraid she is following Alex's path.

Well day off after my really rough night last night. Kids started swimming lessons today so we were all out the door at 830 for 9am classes. I went for a short swim while they were in class. Came home and got on the stationery bike for 20 mins followed by a strength session. I set up my strength plan on my watch and it was really handy. Too for ever to set up.

Food, haven't really planned out anything yet. Homemade burgers for dinner. Probably have porridge for lunch. Kids love it! Going for a walk around the local lake after lunch. I'll sleep well tonight!
