Thank you ladies So for tonights dinner I decided to take a break and just have Jimmy Johns again...tasty and EASY haha...The second picture is a pic from my sisters window in Lauderdale by the sea this morning. Her condo is directly facing the beach, floor to ceiling windows and only three floors up. She is staying home, here during the hurricane. I told her she was nuts but there have been so many false alarms through the years that she just doesn't want the hassle of evacuating. Hope everyone is truckin' along their journey and enjoying the ride

Wow, I sure hope she stays safe... Not sure I'd be that brave.0

Hi Sarah, looks like she'll get lucky as that lil strip by Ft.Lauderdale looks to be kind of in the clear right now. I asked her if anyone else in her building was staying and she said yes...her doctor! Ha so I guess she feels good about that.
Last night's dinner: I made rueben sandwiches again and a salad. Usually hubby and I had a salad and a piece of protein but since our son is living back at home for a while ...I have been making more meals to please him. It's not as ideal calorie wise...I may not be checking in next week as I'll be away but I'll be back the following week for sure. Hope everyone is feeling strong and confident.

So, after I commented this morning I got a massive headache with nausea. Took care of the nausea and sweats and was able to fall back asleep till 3pm. Woke up with no headache at all. Good thing because it was my birthday. Also made waiting for my meal super easy! Did not feel up to going out so I
made chili and hubby went to pick up my favorite lemon pie from Jim n' Nicks. I'm so happy to be pain free ps..yes there's chili under that cheese!0 -
Happy Birthday, I'm glad you're feeling better1

September is a great month for birthdays. Best month in my opinion as both my and my husband's birthday are in September. Happy Birthday!1

Thank you ladies for the birthday wishes...I try to keep em' hush hush lately And yes tracey I kind of like being a Virgo
Tonight we met my daughter and her fiancee at Pizzeria Locale ( the test restaurant for Chipotle) and I got filled up. Had 3/4 of my individual pizza and about 1/4 of the nutella pizza. I gotta get better about my choices....the honeymoon is about over and I feel like I'm getting over the indulgences.

Today I 'mercy' sat for cute lil 14 month old for 2 young teachers that were in a bind. Made my day go by quickly and I always do so much better on OMAD when I'm busy. We made hamburgers on the grill for dinner. I also had 1/2 baked potato and a small piece of left over lemon pie. Hope everyone is truckin' along

Nom Nom Nom that bun looks delish... What is it?0 -
Ha...It's a ciabatta roll from Sprouts market. I usually get the plain but this time they only had a parmesan topped one. I slice them in half and brush on a lil olive oil on the inners and then put them on the grill a minute or two. Their ciabatta rolls are really big and chewy...you can make a nice big burger with them. They're not hard to bite through like other brand ciabatta rolls. A burger just isn't the same for us without em' anymore...mistymeadows2005 wrote: »katjustkat wrote: »Today I 'mercy' sat for cute lil 14 month old for 2 young teachers that were in a bind. Omg yum! When I was vegetarian, I made this amazing salad with cranberry cinnamon goat cheese I got from the local co-op, roasted butternut squash, caramelized onions, and champagne vinaigrette. SO GOOD!0

Looks like a yummy meal!0

OMG creamed spinach is one of my faves! Looks delish!0

I don't think I have ever had creamed spinach before. I have had (I guess) a form of creamed corn before (Mexican street corn in a cup). That sounds really interesting! It makes sense, though -- I love spinach in my alfredo sauce! I may have to make some of that one day!0
-
Yes ...it was good...I like gooood Britt yes, if you're eating dairy products it is super delish. Here is the recipe I follow loosely. http://www.food.com/recipe/creamed-spinach-like-boston-market-105281
I didn't have cream so I used whole milk. I got the huge bag of spinach from Costco. You could also just try a side of it at Boston Market...it's pretty good there.
Today I went out with my daughter and had the same pizzeria Locale pizza I had the other day. So no pic today. Hope everyone had a good day and will have an even better weekend0 -
I hope you have a nice weekend too0
-
@katjustkat no dairy for me (I had the street corn years ago), but I could easily veganize that recipe! Thanks for sharing!0
-
Hmmm...I thought I posted my dinner but I must have hit 'preview' instead. Tonight I had a ton of tomatoes on the the counter so I made a tomato, mozzarella, avocado salad & dressed with balsamic glaze for the family. Just got a rotisserie chicken and enjoyed a chunka bread with butter. Hope everyone is still enjoying their weekends.

Tonight was an easy dinner. Made bbq pork and a caesar salad. Hubby is going to Moab to camp and ride his bike for 6 days. Thinking of doing a water fast while he's gone I'll still have my son to cook for...I'm lil afraid of the psychological repercussions afterwards. Like...I'm afraid that I'll feel like I need to do that more in the future and blame not losing weight on not going the second mile. That type of thing has always back fired on me...like...going to weight watchers and not drinking my coffee before the weigh in makes me feel like I have to do that every week after that, I know it's dumb but it puts this chink in my brain. We'll see...I'm mercy sitting tomorrow so the bulk of the day will be busy so that's always good for me in not thinking about food. How do you all get yourself in the right mindset to water fast? I'm thinking 5 days...or not

Moab is a fun place to ride. I've done that once. It may be real hot there still.
Some people have had great success doing the extended fasts and I've seen others disappear. Don't think it is a requirement. If you try and it doesn't go well, just go back to OMAD and stick with that.1 -
My suggestion is to set little goals and reassess as you go. For example just target a one day fast, it's easier to wrap your mind around. Then see how you feel on day two, and three, etc. Don't feel you have to push yourself too far. If you are feeling it then fine go for it, if not stop. In any event no matter how far you go don't take it as a failure. At worst it's a learning experience. Another suggestion, when it comes around to be the time of day when you would normally be eating, go for a walk.1
