WELCOME to all walkers! It is almost August, and time to be thinking about a new monthly challenge! With the sizzling summer days continuing on :noway: and chilly winter days :smile: , depending on where one lives, having LS DVDs to pop in the player is a great alternative to walking outdoors.

This group is open to any and all walkers, the majority of us use Leslie Sansone Walk At Home workouts, but those great walks outside or on the treadmill, as well as other Walking DVDs, count too. However you get your walk in, join us!

We are a positive, supportive group, and I promise that this challenge will motivate, challenge, as well as inspire you!

Set your goal for how many miles you want to walk, indoors or out, this month. Post your results daily, weekly, however you like.

If you find this group in the middle of the month it doesn't matter which day of the month that you join in. Just set your goals to reflect what you want to walk for the remaining days. You are always welcome!

So tie up those shoes and get some water, and let's start walking!

It is always fun to read which DVD, whether Leslie or not, that you used. We all could use some new inspiration sometimes... or inquiring minds sometimes just want to know :tongue: . So please share if you would care to.

    Hey everyone! I am new to this group and to Leslie Sansone's workouts. I just bought her Walk Slim 4 mile DVD. I am up for the August Challenge and will set my goat at 60 miles this month.

  • Almost met my goal for July. Have so much going on with some family members having severe health issues, but I'm going to try to beat the stress with my walking. I'm finding it easier to log weekly as well.
    August goal is 40 miles.

    plan to do 5 miles a day 5 times a week, I guess my goal would be 100 miles. 10 down and 90 to go

    I had been doing my walking after work while supper was cooking but I did it this morning before breakfast. When do all of you normally walk and which time seems to give you the most benefit. I was thinking walking in the AM sets the tone for your metabolism for the day but not sure if that theory is true or not. :-)

    I'm going to be conservative and say 40 miles for August..... starting Insanity tomorrow for the first time ever , but I'll try my best :bigsmile:

    Today, August 03/13 - 5 Mile Power Walk.... enjoy the little spurts of "boosted" walking signalling the end of a mile...:smile:
